  1. Well we have to agree to disagree on this. I think JDT has done exactly what he said he would be by assessing the current squad including the good young players we have. Now we need a few signings which hopefully over the days and weeks we get in.; Don't need more than 5 or 6 signings in my opinion but its a good squad if we make the right type of signing.
  2. Quick update. Good meeting with Steve Waggott. good guy He answered all my questions and was very personable. the pitch has been improve and a number of areas have been stitched up to help the quality of the pitch throughout the season. So money has been spend on the pitch as others have said. ST sales have been good and better than start of last season first home game. I won't given exactly figures. Not my place to. I was happy what I heard about how the new footballing structure brought in(I said I agree and wanted this structure in place for some time) and how we identify players and scouting. I won't go into exact details as it not my place or position to. Just for the record I didn't asked for specific names or positions we want signings in as I didn't arrange the meeting for this purpose or wanted to asked those questions to him. I praised the club on keeping its Category 1 status and being the only club in the championship who has this. It is important part of the club football strategy going forward and vital for our club. Spoken about the good prospects coming through now and how good it is for the future of the club Also just for the record I won't be answering any questions on the meeting.
  3. I would pick Callum Brittain over Ryan Nyambe cos I rate him highly and think he has the capable to play PL football and it would be very good sensible and logically signing for me. 1000% agree there Yes we need a few signings but I don't see us as ill prepared for the season. I'm confident we will make signings. On Nyambe possible going to Wigan. Goof luck to him there. I don't rate him as highly has others on here. He did decided to walk away from talks even after reopening contract talks just before the season ends. I think he very average right back at this level. Think we can do better
  4. Not talking about T20 cricket at all. I am talking ODI cricket. Where is the brilliant knocks against the India or Australia or New Zealand from Roy or Ali in one day international cricket in the last 2 years?
  5. wasn't saying for Nyambe was I? I would be looking at Callum Brittain from Barnsley or Nathan Byrne from Derby who are better players than Nyambe. I don't rate Nyambe as highly as others on here do.
  6. When was the last time that Jason Roy or Moeen Ali were match winners in a ODI game against a top 8 nation? Parkinson bowled very well in t20 finals day in both games and I would invest in him and a number of new players like Harry Brook, Ben Duckett, Will Smeed, Tom Banton, Callum Parkinson and Matt Parkinson.
  7. No but his agent did re opening talks towards the end of the season but no agreement was done
  8. Well I'm not worry as I know we will make the signings we needed during the transfer window and I am not panic about like many others including yourself. Yes the academy players like Jack Vale, Jake Garrett and Ash Phillips can fill in the squad roles that players and push on to become regular in the starting 11. We don't know how much interested we had in Ben Davies and others we get linked. I don't think JDT is peed off already but he is head coach and his focus isn't on recruitment but coaching the team and making the team better and tactics. Its Gregg Broughton job to bring in signings. Time the media and fans understood this why that Pete? I don't think you need 3 to 4 million fee and 20k plus wages to replace him with. I think you can find players that would cost around 1.5 million to 2 million plus around 10 to 15k wages of similar quality or better than Lenihan. Of course this comes down to good recruitment and scouting team. John Park and his recruitment team should have had a list of possible replacements already done for the next head coach and DoF. I agree with your point that you posted that if any players get within 18 months of their contracts ending and hasn't sign a new contract then we should sell them and get the fee we can.
  9. I disagree we are unable or unwillingness to pay the going rate as that doesn't tallying up when we given new contracts and extensions to Thomas Kaminski, Lewis Travis and Sam Gallagher. Why am I comfortable with the Lenihan's situation? Cos we offer him good terms and he didn't want to sign them. He continue to play to his best and get us promotion last season. I think it came apparent in the last few weeks of the season he would move on despite myself and others wanting/thinking he would sign a new contract. He has decided to move on from our club and sign for Boro. He is steady Championship player Also I don't get too attached to players being here as it a Career for them despite what we might think. The last Player I got attached to was Alan Shearer. Since him leaving I never have again On Nyambe, Its been 19 days since he left us and no one has sign him up. So where are these queue of Championship clubs wanting to sign him and maybe the lack of interest in him is maybe why his agent reopen contract talks with Rovers?
  10. what you consider the right wage for the player you want to offer the new contract, his important to the team and whether you can sign a similar or better quality replacement for similar wages or less. I am not a professional scout or know the wages or agents of players. Plus have access to the club scouting network/software. Its good to suggest names on a fan Rovers site and leads to good discussion on potential signings Yes I will. Might be tomorrow it happens but I will do report on what was said
  11. I want Nathan Byrne or Callum Brittain. Both would be good signing and improvement on Nyambe Cyrus Christie would be decent enough. Yes
  12. I will respectful to him as I am to anyone but I do have plenty of questions lined up on a range of topics No I don't need your questions thanks.
  13. who says we can't afford wages for established players or keep players like Lenihan or Nyambe? But you got to accept we have a wage structure and we won't break it. In my opinion that is right that no one player is bigger than the club and we shouldn't be over paying wage wise anyone. Has Nyambe gone anywhere yet? clearly not rated as highly by other clubs as some people do on here. We offered Lenihan a good contract offer but he reject the offers. Good luck to him there. Maybe he will sign that new contract here then thanks for sharing
  14. I wouldn't want any of them. Mousett isn't good enough for us. Other 2 I would say no. Decent enough but want better. Someone like Lockyer from Luton is the right age at 27 and experience to be our number 1 centre back PL scouts would have watched him developing through the age ranks so it was going to hard to keep interest low in him. exactly. Someone like Man Utd or Spurs or Chelsea can offer him double figure weekly wage at his age plus a big signing on fee. I just hope he doesn't up like Callum Wright who joined Leicester and his career has progress aswell I think it would if he had stayed here. Just hope he re-sign here and the big clubs will stay be there if he continue to path here i developing and playing in the first team here.
  15. It will be success if people actually give it time and patience and don't start judging over a short 5 weeks period but over the long term and improvements going on at the club with all departments under his control. Yes we need some transfers in but only around 5 or 6 signings. I'm sure they will happening in the coming days, weeks before the deadlines ends. Alot more clubs need more signings then us and some of those don't have Category 1 status Academy producing players of first team quality. I disagree we are well behind where we need to be right now.
  16. great news and Rovers Academy is one of the best in the country and regular producing first team players for the head coach over the last 5 years.
  17. Ben Stokes is to retire from ODI after 1st ODI against South Africa. Harry Brook should replace him, Parkinson needs to replace Rashid and I would bring in Ben Duckett for Jason Roy. I would also look replacing Ali also over the 12 months.
  18. Story came out yesterday. LT always day or 2 behind the news.
  19. Ash Phillips hasn't sign a professional contract. Same with Jake Butty https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/20285417.ash-phillips-yet-sign-professional-blackburn-rovers-contract/ It explains why he hasn't sign once yet
  20. Mark Venus was director of football for the past few seasons just not confirmed by club but Waggott and Mowbray confirmed he was in this role.
  21. Broughton or Waggott don't need to communicate right now. Broughton focus should be on bringing players and staff in. Not speaking to the media. Waggott should talk only about non playing activities and after we know the final ST sales. His words were something like a healthy budget compare to clubs without parachute payments 4 million for championship club with no parachute payments is alot unless you sell 1 key player for alot of money and reinvest some of the money on signing. would be quality signing and good investment for the club Well its appears we did bid for him and Venkys was backing JDT for this transfer according to Alan Nixon which is about 40 to 60 k then
  22. O'Hare isn't a wide player but more of a number 10 player. You already have Scott Twine for that spot. I don't think its close at all given Mark Robins comments and maybe Kompany need to learn about speaking about other players at other clubs with respect and not tapping them up. Cornet will go for sure. McNeil most likely also
  23. i'm not sure you get O'Hare tbh given Mark Robins comments You want a keeper from Belgium don't you?
