  1. We already have room for manoeuvre with FFP. We turned down one offer from Fulham of 6 mil with 4 mil add on, one bid from Sevilla for 8.4 million and same amount from Nice. Do you really think they were acceptable offers for a quality of BBD and what he offers to us? So he didn't impress at Blackpool away and Watford home? Morton was signed here to allow Rovers to develop Adam Wharton and Jake Garrett to be more of a part of the first team squad next season. So you have fully explanation from Director of Football why we made that signing and was our only signing in Midfield. Wrong again but you surprised you post this rubbish
  2. I have nothing more to add to what I've already said so your points before were incorrect about Jansen and Gestede. Why don't you stop going OTT about Hirst again. Thanksfully you aren't involved at Ewood Park. Still going on about Beyonce like a broken record. time you came back to planet earth quickly No Mercer, Director of Football, head coach and the recruitment team did a good job in the summer given everything that when on during the summer what is the problem now with the any of the personal? We have a good head coach with director of football who so far has delivered and done good so far. Gus Williams has plenty of experience and we have to see who we are appointing in the head of European Scouting and head of data scouting.
  3. Souness was very good manager and its sad how it ended here. I remember these days very well. We had an excellent side under him. Friedel, Berg, Short, Dunn, Duff, Flitcroft, Tugay, Jansen, Hignett and Cole I always the Worthington cup final and winning promotion at Deepdale as 2 of my proudest moments being a Rovers along with winning the PL in 1994/95.
  4. Hull won't be appoint Pedro Martins Statement from Chairman: Head Coach - News - Hull City Football Club (wearehullcity.co.uk)
  5. The players were behind him and clearly the new appointed Sporting Director must have wanted him to stay. I think it's a smart move to keep him and show some loyalty to him he guided them to promotion. Shame other teams don't
  6. No club offered us a bid near our valuation, and you don't sell your key and best player on the cheap like you would have done. Rovers have told you we wouldn't sell him on the cheap. I don't know why you want to keep going over and over this like a broken record. I have mention transitional season as that my opinion. Have Rovers? Yet again Gregg Broughton explained Rovers thinking about why signing Tyler Morton on loan instead signing permanent signing so I don't know why you asking that. Already answered the transitional point above. changes to the players from last season first team squad are, Callum Brittain, Hayden Carter, Ash Phillips, Dominic Hyam, Clinton Mola, Tyler Morton, Sam Szmodics, George Hirst, Jack Vale, Adam Wharton.
  7. blimey, Gregg Broughton and Jon Dale Tomasson has had only 1 more transfer window. Our new head of recruitment Gus Williams has only joined about 6 or 7 weeks ago. Plus, we are just about appoint a new head of European scouting and new head of data scouting.
  8. As I and others have said we kept Brereton-Diaz cos no club even offered a bid that was acceptable to the club. You would have sold him for low transfer fee whilst plenty of us wouldn't have done. Rovers didn't. For some unknown reason you would let this drop now even when you even heard from our Director of Football Gregg Broughton tell you directly why he wasn't sold. Also, Hirst and Mola are here on loan to potential permanent moves so there is some sort of long-term plan but Rovers want to have a look at them before committing to signing them I'm not saying we should write off the season and I have never said we should have I, but the transition might happen quickly than I think it will, but I am not expecting a top 6 finish this season. I can see some positive evidence already under JDT and the players. I didn't think we would be 7th after 12 league games, and I was expecting us to mid table at best cos of the change of head coach and some changes to the coaching/backroom staff plus around 10 changes to the playing squad this season plus a change of playing style and coaching style.
  9. I never said you can't have opinion so please implying this nonsense, but Rovers have plenty of more tools when they are signing players then we have. Plenty of hours and scouting, researching, etc goes into signing players
  10. Another good positive move for the recruitment side and would help us with European scouting aswell as the appointments of head of European scouting and head of data scouting
  11. My opinions are based on what I have seen so far and what I watched of him in clips. He can finish, I think when he gets match fit and how we want him to play you will see his quality. In his first game he made one very run and I like his movement he made. Fair enough, I do think that the criticism is similar unwarranted at this stage given he hasn't even completed 2 full games in minutes so far and reminds of when Brereton-Diaz joined, and we witnessed the criticism he got then. So, we have agreed to disagree on this. I accept you point about your support for him. I wasn't saying you didn't support him when he has Rovers shirt on so my apologies there if you thought I was saying you didn't. I think after Tuesday missed penalty, I think the best thing would be start him and let him get back out there straight away and get a goal or 2 against Rotherham
  12. Watched the first 2 episodes of this England on Sky Atlantic today and it's a great watch and you need to really focus on watching it. Plenty of good detail in it.
  13. Criag Highett and Stig Inge Bjornebye. Two of my favourite players during my 30 years watching and supporting Rovers was Mike Newell and Mark Atkins
  14. Somewhat agree but I see this season as more of transition season for us and JDT as he learns about the league, playing style at this level from other teams and gets his playing style over the players by having them for period of time on the training ground which he isn't getting at the time. I don't pleasure how of us getting losing games. I think I have been clear about this before. I think they have more performances I have enjoyed than just 1 or 2. The Blackpool and Watford games were really good performances. I enjoyed how we adapted how we played to beat Swansea and were solid against them. I enjoyed the WBA and the fact how we played given those conditions that day which was some of the hottest I seen Football played at Ewood. QPR was a decent performance by the team. Against Millwall was boring first half cos each team didn't want to give anything anyway, but I do feel our tempo and movement first half was very poor. second half was better but both goals had an element of luck in them Yes but maybe if they had stuck by certain managers instead of this sack and hire policy then they might well had more PL football. For example, why sack a head coach in Munoz who got them promotion and had them 15th in the league then they might well have stay up if they kept him. It also reminds me of watching Serie A in the 90's on channel 4 when clubs would be following similar ways to what Watford do. IMO, Clubs need stability and head coaches need time and patience to get their coaching methods, ideas, formation and style of play over to the players. It's why I thought the Rob Edwards was harsh after only 10 games. If they had sacked him in the break for world cup cos results was poor and fearing, they were going to miss on promotion then I can understand that.
  15. Yes, Rovers have mentioned that 5-week break being crucial for JDT to get working with the players daily and will go to Spain for 5 to 7 days training camp during that time. What are the other things going on cos I haven't any rumours on it?
  16. on Jansen, he had 3 goals in 8 PL games and then the season he had 7 goals in 18 games at Championship level for Palace. Then Rovers signed him he scored 3 goals in 11 PL games and then 4 goals in 30 games in the Championship before our promotion season where he got 23 goals in 40 games. 9 goals in 63 games for Cardiff before he joined us. is that really doing it in the championship or did Rovers spot a player who they thought they could develop and improve. He was 25 years old when he joined us back in November 2013. Not interested in the games at Rotherham as most of the apps was a sub. Last season he did very well at Portsmouth and Rovers recruitment department would have done better and more research, scouting, etc than you. still obsessing over Beyonce at your age? blimey? Think it's time you can back down to earth now!
  17. JDT always said it was a project from moment one of him joining the club. here are his quotes “I’ve been searching for the right project “I’ve been searching for the right project and actually it was the project that found me" | rovers.co.uk “This is a plan, a project,” “It’s what I bought into - building success not only for tomorrow but for further, which you can keep for a steady period. Everyone wants this club to get back to the Premier League - where it belongs, if you look at the history. “We need to be clever, do the right things and pick up the right players with the way we want to play football - an intense game. Jon Dahl Tomasson excited by Blackburn Rovers training session | Lancashire Telegraph Why can't we give JDT 3 years to get us promote to the PL and to bring success to Rovers? JDT and GB has spoken it will take about 3 transfer windows to shape the squad that they want so we can get the success and promotion we all crave for. Norwich gave Farke a year to settle in and shape the squad before he delivered the success and promotion they wanted! So, you are bored our watching Rovers try to play a passing style of play? No club has Broughton confirmed in a number of recent interviews that no club even offered a bid anywhere close to what we want, and you shouldn't sell on the cheap like you would have done. Rovers have a price we want, and we were right to stick to it Oh yes, Watford that have had 5 managers/head coach within 1 year, or 18 different head coaches/managers in 10 years since they bought the club including some quality manager like Mazzarri, Javi Garica, Jokanovic or Flores or Munoz. Maybe cos of this constant hire and fire policy is one of the reasons why there is so much instability at the club and such a turnover in staff and playing staff.
  18. Hirst has only played 150 mins over 5 games so far and I'm very surprised by how quickly people have jump on him with the criticism. We know he wasn't fit when he joined, and he is building that up. I think we need to give him time and get behind him cos I think there is a good player in him
  19. I'm surprised how well Kompany has got his signings working and got his style of play over to fair play to him. Does Twine fit into your line up, is he still injured?
  20. Very true but that's how Blackburn Rovers work when signing players and that how we do it.
  21. I will be very honest but its no surprised to you post this sort of comments. He has had a 5 games and total minutes of 150 and already people like yourself are making these sort of comments. I'm sure you were saying the same thing when Brereton, Jansen, Davies, Gestede, Formica or Rochina signed here. That just of top of my head.
  22. Rich Sharpe needs to expand on that point cos would he says add value to the squad, does he mean in terms of improving and developing them then adding value to the player ability Have you listened to the other interviews Broughton has done? I would say no decision has been made on how much signings we made in January. I guess that decision will be made during the break for the world cup on how many but I'm sure Rovers under GB and JDT will be flexible in case we get an injury crisis in January. Plus, any sales that happens in January or Summer
  23. Looks like Southampton are planning to sack their manager Hasenhuttl and replace with Steve Cooper who might be getting sack shortly Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl in danger of being sacked after disappointing results | Daily Mail Online Yesterday Forest appointed Filippo Giraldi as Sporting Director. Nottingham Forest FC - Giraldi joins as Sporting Director
