  1. Hirst was our first choice striker all summer and from comments from JDT and Hirst this deal has been pipeline for a number of weeks. This is loan to buy which is sensible and logically move by us. If he performs, we sign him. This signing shouldn't block Jack Vale pathway has they are our main 2 strikers at the minute Aren't Hyam and Brittain upgrades on Lenihan(given his form at Boro currently) and Nyambe(who left us for cheap 1 year deal at Wigan)? is Morton downgrade on Johnson or Davenport? not for me. Too early to judge Hirst or Mola yet. I want to see more of Szmodics before passing comment on the overall signing Agree with all this and I can't believe how he is being towards Gregg Broughton who for me has a very positive impact on the club since his appointment. Seems to be making good appointments to the staff of the football side of the club
  2. But would you not agree that selling players on the cheap shouldn't be accept either? We got AA money of around 10 money to cover their losses last season I would have thought so off. Did Morton not impress against Blackpool a couple of weeks ago? or did he not a good game at Bradford away? We have to judge Szmodics over the season surely?
  3. I agree with your first point. I think they will set either 3-4-3 or 4-3-3 cos with those forward options you would want to play 3 up front. Hopefully Hyam, Ayala or Scott Wharton can stop Davis if he plays having much of impact on the game.
  4. Why has it been a farce? South Africa have a young side and has their captain has said post-match he wants his team to play more test matches. We have 3 different formats internationally now and have you seen the international calendar for the next 5 years. here a link for you? Men-s-FTP-upto-2027.pdf (icc-cricket.com)
  5. I would set up the team with players playing in their best positions.
  6. 2 test series win this summer and Series draw with India. Stokes and McCullum want to play attacking sensible cricket with positive approach. Yes, they will be times when we need to play abit more defensive like the series in Pakistan. I can't believe people complaining about the team approach. I loved Stokes's comment to Butcher about his batting approach was class.
  7. Nyambe wouldn't have stayed as backup player firstly, we signed Brittain who will be very good signing here, and I have said I would keep James Brown instead of loaning him out. We aren't going to agree on this are we? You would have taken a lower offer whilst I wouldn't have done, and I think we were right to reject all offers cos they were way below our valuation of the player, and I have mention to 4 different factors why I believe he is worth more than what teams were offering. Also, Teams like Everton, Leeds and Fulham knew what the price was so Offer so low offer would be reject was clear all summer. No problem at all, 👍 Well Tyrone, we will have to see in the coming weeks and months. I know that Rovers will try to get him to sign new contract in the coming months, but like I have said I think he will pre contract with a Spanish Club in January
  8. Not for me, Carter is decent enough and I rated Pickering. We will cause them plenty of problems with our attacking play and I think we will win this 2-1. Sounds like something Mowbray would do does that.
  9. Thank god he has gone, and this small club attitude has left our club. JDT has talk the club since he joined, Mowbray rarely did. Who was that poster? I wasn't interested in given him any warm welcome back to Ewood even before this article, he gone, and we have move on now and better footballing structure in place now.
  10. Is he for real? Why would he even do that? Why would the Rovers manager convinced his own Head of Recruitment to leave the club? thank god he has gone.
  11. Gav, we were offered strikers in January but Mowbray said we don't need one. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/19898505.tony-mowbray-explains-blackburn-rovers-didnt-sign-striker/ From the link Rovers were offered several chances to add a No.9 to their ranks in January but Tony Mowbray saw no reason to move away from the way of playing that has brought them so much success.
  12. Not for me, cos he is our best attacking player, goal scorer, international player and worth more to the team here than not. For me, Rovers were right for the stance and rejecting these low offers. Fulham's bid was with add on's so no guarantee of the full 10 million being pay, so we were right to rejected it.
  13. Very good Italian Grand Prix with plenty of good racing. George Russell is very good all round racing driver. Very consistence and reliable driver. If Mercedes can get a better all-round car(more straight line speed) for the 2023 season than I think both can challenge for World title.
  14. I don't know whether he will sign a new contract or not, but neither should we have sold him on the cheap like you are suggesting you would have done. Rovers were right to reject those 10 million or less bids for him.
  15. Rovers offered BBD a contract about 18 months ago, but he hasn't sign it yet. Rovers will start talks with him and his agent agin over another contract extension. He might stay or he might want to leave next summer for a move to Sevilla or Valencia. The Nice and Sevilla offers of 8.4 million pounds for BBD were rightly rejected as our valuation was much higher than that and I'm pleased we didn't sell him cheap or just to bring some money cos his goals and his important to this club is worth more than that. Fulham came in with 10 million pounds which was 6 million up front, with 4 mil in add on's on Wednesday Night when we played Blackpool. Again, that offer was rejected which I agree with. You have mention this point several times now about us getting more money than we were offered but No club bid more so where were these offers then? Which clubs were offering us more? By GB and JDT after he didn't want to stay here. Is he really a big miss cos for me he isn't. We did bring in experience players like Brittain, Hyam and Szmodics. We signed Hirst and Mola after Hyam signing I'm sure Rovers did have targets in mind but when Fulham and Leeds came bidding on the last day it was far too late for business to get done. Who did Mowbray bid for then? cos I believe Rovers were offer a couple of strikers on loan from PL clubs but Mowbray said we didn't need one? Then we all know what happened then, Mowbray's regular post-Christmas losing streak and continuous tactical tinkering
  16. Really? You wouldn't play Harry Kane or Mo Salah or Haaland on the left wing cos you think that the weakness of the opposition In the game against the dingles they play 4-2-3-1 formation? I haven't seen them in other games.
  17. Only another 33 runs are needed by England for test win and series win
  18. Most managers would play their best forwards in their proper positions instead of focusing on the opposition defenders
  19. Doesn't Sarr play on the right side of the front 3 and Pedro is number 9 isn't he
  20. That's fine with me if you disagree
  21. That the team I would pick on form and how I want to play. If you at my Wigan team, I picked Morton and Szmodics ahead of Dack and Adam Wharton in that team
  22. It was very interesting qualifying for the Italian Grand Prix. Looking forward to the race tomorrow
  23. The Queen's funeral will be held 19th September and it will be Bank Holiday. Queen's funeral to be held on 19 September - as details of lying-in-state released (msn.com) Some very heart-breaking scenes in these photos in the article and its good to see that the 2 brothers have come together at this time. 24. I think we will cause them plenty of problems. Watford are paying 4-3-3 so I would set up 4-2-3-1 formation and here my team Kaminski Carter Hyam Wharton Pickering Travis Morton Hedges Szmodics BBD Hirst I will go for 2-1 Rovers win with Hirst and BBD scoring
