I mention him last week as possible loan option. Not playing at Leicester currently
-
why do you think that? something you heard or know or just an opinion?
-
Birmingham, Derby, Bristol City, QPR have all sold players. Birmingham sold Bellingham for over 20 mil, Derby sold Boyle and Lowe to Sheffield United for 15 million, Bristol City have balance the transfers spending with sales this summer. last season make 14 million pounds profit(Spent 30 mil, received 44 million), QPR have sold Eze for over 20 million pounds this summer and spent around 10 million so thats a 10 million profit. Swansea made 35 million pounds profit last summer plus cuts in wages and balance the transfer in and out fees this summer. Rovers will be ok. Just on the line. Thats why we haven't over spent at all.
-
We wasted vast amount of money on players that got us nowhere near top 6 but almost relegate. Why would want a centre midfielder over left back now is just crazy talk..
-
Here were I did analysis which show we could have 4 to 5 budget. You been very selective in your quote. Tho I not surprise at all with yourself. Anyway Ewood, I'm not arguing with you anymore about this. You are just arguing.for the sake trying to point you were right.
-
Most clubs wont cos they either sold players like Norwich, Bournemouth, Forest have or work on limited resources like Luton or Barnsley.
-
But we chasing top 6 not looking to be decent Championship side. We bought Dack when we were relegated.
-
But I said could have NOT had. Clearly you misunderstood my points or just ignored. Listen to you? No thanks Ewood
-
No I havent said anything like that. You just arguing for the sake of it Ewood. I did an analysis on how WE COULD HAVE 4 to 5 million pounds football budget back in July/August. Even if we could afford Whiteman why would any club chasing top 6 spend 2 million on mid table league 1 midfielder. I dont think we even got 500k left on footballing budget in my opinion
-
Back to this again. I did an analysis on how we could have a 4 to 5 million pounds football budget including wages. Something you seems to have trouble understanding.. Why would anyone spend 2 million on mid table league 1 midfielder when you can get better for cheaper like Manning.
-
But we arent doing so tho aren't we? Why do we want a league 1 midfielder who spent his career in the middle of league one?
-
1. We dont need a centre midfielder singing as I think we have more than in midfield. 2. Not value for money. 2 million for league 1 midfielder. Far too expensive for league 1 standard midfielder 3. He isn't the midfielder type we need even if we need a midfielder. He nothing like Travis. Someone like Josh Cullen was who cost 800k. Who played at this level. 4. MOST importantly we need a left back signing before anything else. .
-
The fee involved we cant afford for one. I don't see centre midfielder as a priority were we need a signing. The priority should be left back signing
-
I've seen him played thanks. I wouldnt be buying him. Not worth the money at all. Leave him there

Mowbray might well have wanting the structure for a couple of years but we needed the owners/club to fund the proper structure, software, staff, space at Brockhall, money for scouting trips. The last 12 months has seen vast improvements in this. I would say very little Championship clubs have the recruitment, scouting and data analysis department staff levels we have. Brentford and Barnsley do, maybe Birmingham. But not many others IMO. Do teams like Forest use a scouting structure or agents to bring players in? That's what happen when managers dismantled the good scouting and recruitment departments.
-
You were buzzing over us maybe sign Whiteman?.
-
The recruitment team all works together with Mowbray running it from his office. Has 1 collective team. Kaminski was scouting for months by our scouts. Got till the 16th of October
-
Good job we invest so much time, money and hiring staff in the recruitment department then and Mowbray can trust them
-
Rovers current recruitment, scouting and data analysis department consist of six members of staff based in Brockhall analysing hours after hours of video footage, that is in addition to three data analysts. Rovers also has on top of that regional scouts that cover games around the UK, plus scouts that operate around Europe scouting players. Bruno Reis overseen the European scouting department and Stuart Harvey overseen the overall department So you are looking at around 15 to 20 people working within these departments. So a lot of time setting this structure up, investment and hiring the right people into these roles. We have had some success in the European transfer market this summer and hopefully this continues next transfer window and beyond..
-
Kaminski may be ok? Mowbray convinced Ayala to join here. Rovers recruitment team suggested Dolan and Mowbray backed their judgement on signing him. Since signing him he has surprise the club and IMO been excellent so far. How many European players have we signed under Bowyer, Appleton, Lambert, Coyle then? We didn't those managers not implement an European Scouting department during their time here? Mowbray and Rovers have always said this European scouting network is here for the long term and not just for this window. Thats why we investing money, time and bringing in the right staff into the recruitment, scouting and data analysis departments Well Joe is entitled to his opinion but I do feel that Joe has a faIr point. Bringing in experience keeper, experience centre defender that we need, a winger who has been total surprise. Joe does worked for EA Sports so has more experience than most of players around Europe. A left back we have interest in. He hasn't signed yet. You can watch him on Thursday if you want play for Norway. Hopefully we will sign a left back before the 16th Deadline day. You got to trust your scouting, recruitment and data analysis departments that the players they recommend and scout more are the right ones. Mowbray backs these people after bring in the right ones. You need to believe more in the people we have in these roles unless you wish to go back to us using agents to bring players like under previous managers.
-
Dolan was signed on the back of recommendation of the scouting and recruitment department and Mowbray his people on that. I don't know if Brereton was scouting at all. But focusing on the negative of past seasons instead of focusing on how good our scouting has been in bringing the players we have this summer and hopefully a left back to come in before the 16th October deadline
-
There is risk in every signing regardless of the fee. Ask Barca and Man Utd who have wasted Millions and millions on signings not good enough. You are spending money on improving the recruitment, scouting and data analysis to increase the pool of players and to reduce the risk of signings thats aren't good enough.
-
Thats why recruitment, scouting and data analysis departments have been invested in by the club, so we are scouting players properly and been less reliant on agents suggestions like under previous managers in the past. Watching games from a lot of European leagues so we know the players qualities in depth.
