So did we play long ball against Hull or Reading? No we didnt. Against Hull we played just over 21% and against Reading we played below 20%. Now against some other sides is around 25% or slightly below. Thats stats will including our switch of play between one wing and another. So that stats arent right either. Look at the stats Ive provided. less than 20% of long passes against Reading and just over 20% against Hull. But around 25% against the 2 teams I provided. I would say we play better when we play around 20% of long passes in games looking at those stats. Not sure on the whoscored.com stats as how and who is compelling those stats? A European network structure can tell time. Yes this process could be speeding up by hiring scouts based in France or Germany, etc. I think we should be looking in Austria and Belgium for players. We play alot of switch of play from one flank to another. on Sunday we played 92 long passes out of 401 passes in the game against Reading we played 76 long passes out of 512 passes in the game against Bristol City we played 93 long passes out of 370 passes in the game against Hull City we played 93 long passes out of 465 passes in the game. Hardly a long passing team are we?

You make a very good point on why we play so many long balls cos we Graham plays and he can hold on to it and the lack of quality centre midfield playmaker. That's why I thought Whittingham was signed for. Yes you make a good point about style at Boro and WBA. But he has said he wants to play a similar style but this is going to require some new players. He did say that he like playing a striker/inside forward(Antonsson and Armstrong) on one side of the 3 man behind Graham and a defensive winger like a Conway or Bennett on the other side. that's comment was last season tho. He look like he has carry on this style this season with Armstrong on 1 side and Reed on other. on going forward, I agree if we want to a more open attractive style then we have fazed Graham out shortly all the next 18 months whilst he carry on having a role at the club. maybe we see in the future Armstrong up front with Dack in 10 role with Rothwell and Chapman wide with Travis and an other in in centre midfield. well I hope we can respectfully agree to disagree Conway and Gladwin both out of contract this summer. Bennett for me is a starter for me. Why Hart was given a new contract I don't know. I can see Williams and Smallwood wanted 1st team football and leaving. Samuel should be able to get a league 1 club or bottom 6 clubhow? how? until they play at this level how do you know I.e. Dack or Bell. The new European scouting network will take time to develop and it could be Summer 2020 before we see the benefits of it. I felt our summer recruitment was fine IMO. Mowbray always said he would give last season squad a chance. He has been true to his words. Now he will change it and move out players he doesn't think will be good enough. I still remember Mark Hughes time as Rovers manager still now. Did a great job here. But that's was over 10 years ago But Stoke in his last season and during his time at Southampton defensively were poor. was Stoke and Southampton right to sack him? I'm not so sure. Stoke have spend another 50/60 million pounds and gone nowhere. They had 3 managers since his time there Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield United and Leeds United spent time in league 1 and look how long it took them out of this division despite the size of the budget. Yes we had bad spells during the season but did you not expect us to have these.
