Just read that. "Rovers remain in dialogue with Yverdon about the deal but no timeframe has been offered as to when progress might be made. The club still want to add two signings before the end of the transfer window, including signing an attacking midfielder." Sounds like we are now down to just an AM plus either a cb or rw. The number decreases by the week. They must have been reading this board and decided the squad has improved so no need for more.

Are you making assumptions that the 3 signed are accustomed to the championship when you state we are stronger on the left wing, attacking midfield and centre forward. How are those positions stronger when we haven't signed anybody? Where we can agree is that we have trimmed some dross fron the squad (last year loans).

I'm not disagreeing they were shite - just like all our new signings maybe shite at Championship level. You asked where we were weaker. We are effectively 4 bodies down (plus ACD as you pointed out ) in attacking areas, which makes the squad a damn sight weaker. You seem to just discount it because they were shite. If we sign replacements for Weimann and Dolan, sign an experienced loan striker from a Prem club, plus another from a Champ club. Or sign the equivalent number of players from Europe. Then the squad would be comparable and not weaker.

Of course we are weaker than last year - in attacking areas. The loss of Dolan/Weimann and the loanees Dennis and Woodrow (who granted were shit but potentially should have been better than they were) means we are 4 established championship players lighter up top than last May. How is that not weaker? You certainly can't argue that DeNeve is an adequate attacking replacement for any of them.

Er no. As others have pointed out, he has a good engine and can get up and down but we haven't seen him do anything to worry the opposite full back or any crunching defensive tackles. With him and Hedges on the other side we may negate other team's threat out wide but there will be minimal goals/assists coming from either.
