Gestede's influence is a bit of an enigma. His communication hasn't been great and I believe he's not particularly well liked around Ewood. However, he does seem to target some potentially interesting signings. Ultimately, he'll get judged on those by the fan base.

Leonard missed his opportunity I think. When he did get a few games under his belt, his finishing let him down. He was competitive and made decent runs leading the line - a bit like Yuki but he's not overly physical or quick enough to really trouble 2 centre backs at this level yet. He's been very unlucky with injuries but unfortunately that's how the game goes for some. Reminds me of Butterworth from a few years prior, some talent but back injuries hampered his progression. Now seems to have established himself in league 2 after a quick Google. Leonard needs to do the same in my opinion. Lower league will make or break him.

The lack of (apparently) not wanting a striker is baffling. Weren't we supposed to be signing Ashante last Jan but then picked up 2 forwards on loan? Clearly they must know it's the weak point. I'm wondering whether Gueye may well be on his way. Ismail doesn't really seem to rate him.

Excellent performance that. Thought Hull were poor - maybe we just made them look awful. Being picky. A better forward line and we'd have had 6. Gueye particularly poor that last 10 mins. Edit: Thought Toth had a solid game too.

Committed 5 men forward then but didn't make best usr of it, they countered. Got to be careful not to give them any encouragement.

It's uncanny that every time an experienced player transfer out is announced. A foreign lower league player is brought in at exactly the same time. It's a stunning coincidence. In fairness this does make sense as a loan. Though bringing in an injured player just seems daft full stop. Next random relegated European better be a right winger, followed by a striker.

One thing that surprised me about Kargbo was the leap on him for that header on Sat. Granted he missed but I've not seen someone of his stature hang in the air like that since Speedie. Perhaps out of our current options, he may be the best fit at actually leading the line. He has the pace to scare cbs to death and may be able to hold his own in the air. Just a thought. But then we'd need 2 wingers and we can't even find one.

Defeat today was on the manager. No need to pack the box like that. We weren't losing the game. So either he's told the players to pack the box or the players, lacking championship experience, have done it themselves - in which case he should have been shouting them back.
