  1. That's why Montgomery should be nowhere near right back.
  2. That's a great summary πŸ˜‚. He's a character. I think he is definitely a useful player to have around. If selling him meant getting that striker playing in the Polish league, then no qualms. It won't though and we are already light up top. Keep hold.
  3. Not having a striker lined up is baffling. We have never replaced Szmodic. When Ohashi was signed last year, Eustace referred to him as the Telalovic replacement (similar outlay). Gallagher went and Makhtar arrived (clearly like for like). Szmodic left and no replacement. Leonard isn't reliable injury wise and Tyjon isn't going to lead the line. There is a serious lack of goals in the side.
  4. I'd rather have a 9 better than Gueye or Ohashi than a 10.
  5. Well played fellas. Pulled it out the bag in the final round ⚽
  6. A cricket analogy about batters surviving at the crease I assume . Get some sleep fella!
  7. We only get the serious ££ if he signs a pro deal. No point playing him and developing him if he's refusing to sign and going to jump ship at the first opportunity. Probably a convenient excuse for Rudy not to have to sign another forward though.
  8. Jeez how is that kid worth Β£20 mil? Is he a similar level to WhartonπŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ
  9. Don't worry, Forever Blue will be along to convince you the squad has improved and is now stronger than last year.
  10. Cover for Duru going on loanπŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ
  11. Just read that. "Rovers remain in dialogue with Yverdon about the deal but no timeframe has been offered as to when progress might be made. The club still want to add two signings before the end of the transfer window, including signing an attacking midfielder." Sounds like we are now down to just an AM plus either a cb or rw. The number decreases by the week. They must have been reading this board and decided the squad has improved so no need for more.
  12. You could also argue that both are no longer unknown players and defences will know how to play against them this year so they'll be less effective. You are just making assumptions, like we all are based on your particular view point. edit: just read your more detailed reply.
  13. Are you making assumptions that the 3 signed are accustomed to the championship when you state we are stronger on the left wing, attacking midfield and centre forward. How are those positions stronger when we haven't signed anybody? Where we can agree is that we have trimmed some dross fron the squad (last year loans).
  14. I'm not disagreeing they were shite - just like all our new signings maybe shite at Championship level. You asked where we were weaker. We are effectively 4 bodies down (plus ACD as you pointed out ) in attacking areas, which makes the squad a damn sight weaker. You seem to just discount it because they were shite. If we sign replacements for Weimann and Dolan, sign an experienced loan striker from a Prem club, plus another from a Champ club. Or sign the equivalent number of players from Europe. Then the squad would be comparable and not weaker.
  15. You also need to factor in the loss of Woodrow and Dennis (as shit as they were) as attacking options we don't have.
  16. It's coming to something when even the LET have no new articles. Perhaps they are waiting for info on Brittain leaving.
  17. Of course we are weaker than last year - in attacking areas. The loss of Dolan/Weimann and the loanees Dennis and Woodrow (who granted were shit but potentially should have been better than they were) means we are 4 established championship players lighter up top than last May. How is that not weaker? You certainly can't argue that DeNeve is an adequate attacking replacement for any of them.
  18. No links or rumours again. My, what an exciting summer and squad rebuild. Keep up the good work Rudy πŸ₯±
  19. I think it's certain we are waiting for cash in from either Brittain or Travis. Its very, very quiet on all fronts - including Hyam's 'very close' new contract. They were probably hoping Adam Wharton got a summer move too.
