  1. If he's going to persist with DeNeve, try him at left back.
  2. Some throw that. We've missed that. Fair play to DeNeve. Finished that better.
  3. Another 45 mins and still no idea what Ismael's plan/style is. At least Boro are also having a mare.
  4. Those 3 have been the only bright spots so far. Our left side is woeful. Montgomery is well off it.
  5. Not had a shot on target yet and 2 down. Struggling to lay a glove on the mighty Bantams. They look more likely to add a third.
  6. The whole thing. Back pass was poor. Keeper panicked. Don't wish that on a young lad but better happening tonight than the league.
  7. Very quiet again on the transfer front this last 48 hrs. Despite 'having a budget' for this right winger, it's almost as if we have to sell somebody before we can get him...
  8. Really like the look of that lad. He'll need an ESC slot though I assume, so dead in the water.
  9. Usually the most expensive signing They won't pay for one and would rather try and wing it with Ohashi and Gueye.
  10. I think Mr Jackson may have lifted that from this very forum!
  11. Not arguing that at all. We never replaced Rothwell's ability to do that. Playing them both is too defensive - unless you have 4 in front who can make things happen. We don't. Out of the 2, Travis is the only one with any real resale value so he will be the one to go. That said, if it wasn't down to money, I'd personally keep Travis and let Tronstadt go, just for the niggle factor he brings.
  12. Travis is one of those vocal, niggly, dark arts characters that every club needs. Ability wise he' s a solid top half championship player but it's the other qualities he has that make him an integral squad member. Can you replace his stats in the pitch? More than likely. That's not the whole picture though. Value wise, given his contract, I'd say £2 - 2.5 mil is a fair deal.
  13. In theory we've struggled against long throws as we:ve had nobody capable of taking them. Perhaps the Miller throw will help improve us in both boxes.
  14. Ribeiro/Pickering Mcloghlin, Hyam, Tronstadt, De Neve/Hedges/Ohashi couldn't fight their way out of a paper bag.. Trav is more bluster. Only Axel/Miller/Abeliosu/Gueye look like they might mix it a bit. Need a few more hard players in there if we intend to physically bully boy our way through a season.
  15. I wouldn't read to much into that. Any outgoing replaced doesn't necessarily mean like for like. He's more likely inferring we have the budget for one more signing, then it's one out, one in.
  16. For all the talk of Baradji and a deal on the table for a while, they suddenly pulled out another midfielder in Axel for that last esc slot. Ismael clearly wants more than one signing and I'd wager he'd prefer them up top. We've lost Weimann/Dolan/Dennis/Woodrow/ACD who were all attacking options - whilst the last 3 didn't work out, they were still options. Now we have zero options. Reading between the lines, Trav will go. Tronstadt will stay until next year. Add Tavares, Axel, Montgommery and Forshaw and that is 5 for 2 slots. 3 unproven but we have options. I think whatever small portion of the Travis money is available will go on front players - probably loans. I'd be very surprised if it goes on Baradji.
  17. Pointless if he's not going to be fit. Think that one has sailed.
  18. From the players with tenuous links, 2 players stand out as really improving our first 11. Both from the Polish league, 27 and 26 so both well experienced. Steve Kapaudi Afimico Pululu. These are the type of players your ESC slots should be used for.
  19. Probably why he didn't last long at those then. Nor is he implementing this relentless press that he was apparently known for. Probably down to lack of attacking players to bring on. Which is down to lack of attacking signings. Which is down to a lack of plan/money/organisation.
  20. New season and despite expecting defeat and us to have no attacking threat whatsoever, losing still hurt. Football still makes or ruins a Saturday night. Something you'll never understand Venkys.
