The main issue most of us highlighted was lack of goals in the team/squad. Still the case.

I'd be quite happy with this one. Not seen much of him but his International record isn't bad at all for 23. Could be a good option for that lone role. Looks physical enough and should be technically good- given his time at youth level in Spain. If his style is anything like his dads, he should be a good fit for us. Another player with a big upside should he have a decent season or 2.

Feel for you guys. Russell Martin's brand of football is awful and he's an arrogant pillock to boot.

The most fascinating part of this weekend is to see whether any one fronts up money for Pears!

I think we may sign 3 more. Obviously there may also be more outgoings - potentially Pears, Hyam, Leonard maybe even Gueye. Ismael constantly referenced just one position more (right wing) when asked. When he elaborated about incomings/outgoings, he always talked in the plural. I think he is definitely hoping to get more players out and in before Monday.

I'd be more confident if you said better at finishing than Gueye!

Maybe United will have to revisit the Pears deal 😂

The striker was in the original plan though - when Gestede outlined the areas that needed improving at the back rnd of last season. It only disappeared from the narrative once we started signing loads of midfielders.

Has Travis to Derby actually been confirmed? It seems to be dragging on?

Gestede's influence is a bit of an enigma. His communication hasn't been great and I believe he's not particularly well liked around Ewood. However, he does seem to target some potentially interesting signings. Ultimately, he'll get judged on those by the fan base.

No we haven't. Shame - as out of the players linked up top, he looks a good profile for what we want.

Doesn't seem much of a loss. Impressed by the Morishita signing though. Good age and can play across the front. Clearly the Dolan replacement.

Leonard missed his opportunity I think. When he did get a few games under his belt, his finishing let him down. He was competitive and made decent runs leading the line - a bit like Yuki but he's not overly physical or quick enough to really trouble 2 centre backs at this level yet. He's been very unlucky with injuries but unfortunately that's how the game goes for some. Reminds me of Butterworth from a few years prior, some talent but back injuries hampered his progression. Now seems to have established himself in league 2 after a quick Google. Leonard needs to do the same in my opinion. Lower league will make or break him.

Also factor in the wages for ACD, Sanderson, Woodrow, Beck and Dennis

The lack of (apparently) not wanting a striker is baffling. Weren't we supposed to be signing Ashante last Jan but then picked up 2 forwards on loan? Clearly they must know it's the weak point. I'm wondering whether Gueye may well be on his way. Ismail doesn't really seem to rate him.

Excellent performance that. Thought Hull were poor - maybe we just made them look awful. Being picky. A better forward line and we'd have had 6. Gueye particularly poor that last 10 mins. Edit: Thought Toth had a solid game too.

Committed 5 men forward then but didn't make best usr of it, they countered. Got to be careful not to give them any encouragement.
