As I recall, at the time of *that* fans meeting Waggott was telling all & sundry in earshot that we were scrapping the European model & reverting to a more traditional manager set up. It was understood that GB was on his way too (although it was surprising he didn’t immediately leave with JDT - cash flow issues?). Waggott let it be known that he had a candidate in mind. 24 hours later, JE was appointed.
