A relatively kind fixture for the first home game; not a bad team but for me not one of the best, we could really do with getting a win under the belt. Going for 2-0 with Armstrong and Dack goals

Chaddy you don’t need to tell someone twice in a day that you used to enjoy their posts buts now they are too negative. I know we used to have the Chaddometer but as far as I know we don’t currently have a Chaddy approval system in place.

Transfer Window - Success or Failure
Tom replied to roversfan99's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
One thing is for sure it hasn’t gone to Tony’s (or Chaddys not that he’d admit it) plan Early in the window the plan was to get people in before Austria - didn’t happen Then bring in 6-7 with most of them being perms with the odd loan later to supplement the squad Then 3-4 more after Armstrong mainly buys I think somebody got it wrong this summer, with the amount of cash offered today we could have got Edwards and Marriott and more and would be in a better position. Ipswich and Wigan seem to be clubs looking down but have done well in the market and will fancy themselves to do ok now. We now have to do well in the loan window but today was all too predictable The odd thing is if we brought in Armstrong today then things might seem cheerier but after the agent Benno stuff and talk from the club of a busy time then absolute radio silence today it’s a little flat -
Transfer Window - Success or Failure

So far the squad we had for the Oxford game is marginally weaker than the one we have now, I don’t know much about Rothwell but Payne seemed to be higher thought of by Oxford fans at the time, Davenport could turn into a real player but unknown at this point, Palmer replaces Antonsson and Chapman and Armstrong is still Armstrong. A striker and two pacey wingers were the obvious need, Armstrong is one but we are massively short in that area and up front, last season Graham looked ok but tiring against league one defenders in no way can we go through the season with him as the main man. People say we now look to the loan window but so do many other teams we should have had that striker in before last Saturday. A C for me so far. Chapman and Gallagher or better with permanent clauses built in and that becomes a B+ -
Are we near the Z list yet? Surelt Zizou is finally coming

Too bad Efan Ekoku retired
-
Disappointing if that’s that, we haven’t improved the first team; yes I know the loan window exists but we clearly wanted permanent deals and as of yet haven’t strengthened the first team on last season much if at all

In my world with all the hidden posts we are on page 505!
-
But for that money you used to get 5 Jordan Slews - is he that good?
-
I think it’s going to be Gallagher and Chapman on loan after their clubs see deals through. Be happy if they are with a view to perm deals

Has the feelings of a classic rovers deadline day, a tweet from Sharpe at 4:50 will confirm it: ‘Nothing happening today, Rovers tried but the pieces didn’t fall into place, will look in loan window.’ We can dress it up but we all wanted permanent signings even Chaddy said we need to target a few. As it stands our first team for the Millwall game is the same first team that ended the season which wasn’t what was needed. Still time.....

Just hope we have solid back up plans on the striker front, would be disappointing to not get anyone in today and then have to hope we can find a loan
-
I think John Marquis would be worth a gamble, the football Chris Brown wanted to be, ugly but useful
-
You are good with formations and such what would you be aiming for us playing? The 4-5-1 (or 4-4-1-1) seems to work best to play around Dack but wonder if we may aim for 3 at the back at times
-
Is he a deep sitting player? Others seem to suggest he’s played further forward: Like Ruaney said a day or two ago I didn’t think of midfield as a priority but if a player came in to improve the first 11 I’m well up for it. Given the choice between one and a striker though it’s a front man in first for me

You need to temper your expectations my friend, not many in this league are as good as our Benji
-
Don’t be a silly billy
-
Still think I’d throw a couple million at Wednesday see if we can get Joao (also this may be because I’m really really not up to date with this league and not sure who else to suggest)

Freeman was brilliant in the office but never expected him to have the career he’s had, that said his accent in the Marvel films is terrible. i know nothing of his footballing exploits mind you

Big news on the Lewis Travis girlfriend front:
-
Hope he keeps grounded his instagram shows he is living the lifestyle - nothing wrong with that of course as long as he stays focussed and by all accounts he trains like a beast

Alan Myers says the Trap bid was turned down with them wanting $3m but maybe a bit less would do it
-
Why are there just two games tonight when they all played on Saturday? Seems bizarre Going well for our mate Dean Henderson again at least
-
But you you said he was ‘in the villa side of the directors box’ not he saw him entering or leaving Alan Nixon said: Lukas Nmecha. In the Villa side of the directors box tonight. The plot thickens. The turn of phrase ‘in the xxx side of the directors box’ isn’t one I often hear as they aren’t split into sides are they, why pretend the info came from elsewhere when it’s blatant you just read it on Nickos twitter?

That was a free agent and I think Mowbray said he had gone to another team
