  1. I see Morgan Whittaker has bagged another brace this afternoon, excellent player at this level and costs about the same as a German pub player.
  2. Blimey, no excuse for just downing tools. Yes we have injuries, yes games come thick and fast but to just give up is unforgivable.
  3. Yes, there were a few lauding him after his first sub appearance based on him dealing with a couple of back passes and looking good in a keeper shirt. I said at the time he looked weak and hesitant.
  4. That's funny. The Leo I see is cat shit.
  5. This keeper is shite. Arguably at fault for the last 3 goals conceded.
  6. With Paul Caddis's Hereford just behind them
  7. Class act you are pal. All the best to you and yours.
  8. Completely agree. There's no such thing as building a squad over consecutive seasons at Ewood as we're reliant on loans and selling our better players for a profit every summer. The longer this goes on, the more chance we'll regress so we have to take our chances when they come. And soon.
  9. Bad result that but this is what happens after years and years of reducing investment in the squad.
  10. Why the hell are we chasing the game when we're in possession?
  11. Superb Sammie, superb. What a finish that was.
  12. Never in doubt !!! Sammie with great composure there.
  13. Hate to say it but it's looking like a carbon copy of many of our games this season. Start well, look a class above, don't score when on top, opposition get a foothold, opposition score, we huff and puff but lose.
  14. There's a lot of revisionism on El Tel the England coach and this mythical total football we played under him. He only managed us in 5 competitive games, all played at Wembley, prior to that he presided over some of the most insipid friendlies ever seen against generally poor opposition. We only won 2 competitive games in 90 minutes under him, one against the Jocks with a penalty save and Gazza special to thank for it plus a rout against a poor in-fighting Dutch side. The other 'victory' was against an average Spain side on penalties in the QF where they could count themselves unlucky to have a perfectly good goal disallowed in normal time. Added to that a poor draw against the Swiss in the group and a penalties defeat against an average German team in transition and it wasn't the new dawn some seem to claim. However what I will remember him fondly for was the utter disdain he had for Jimmy Hill when they worked on the BBC together. He'd forgotten more about football than Hill knew...and he certainly let him know that.
  15. Agreed. I don't rate him highly but that save was top drawer
  16. I'm with you on that. A poor finisher doesn't take those chances at Preston and Sheffield in the cup last year.
  17. I think Ainscow scored as well? It was touch and go whether it'd be on or not as there were floods down that way. It was only confirmed mid morning when we were half way down there. The song was memorable that day as there was some cladding behind the goals that the rovers fans were banging while we were singing. Sounded deafening at the time.
  18. Remember being in a following of about 1000 at Ipswich in 87/88 singing that for the whole of the 2nd half in a 2-0 win. Great times.
  19. He approaches tackles with relish that lad
  20. All comes from Wharton's lazy pass in his own last third compounded by a lack of effort to win it back. I'm the lad's biggest fan but my God he has a lot to learn.
  21. Same script as most defeats this season. Start well, dominate the play, miss presentable chances, drop off after 20-25 minutes, concede from a rare chance conceded, heads drop, lose. Hope the last bit changes tonight.
