And, especially in the late 80s, a better quality league. -

A very good managerial appointment as well. They will surprise a few this year. -

Just noted that Gerhard Struber is the new manager at Bristol City who have just walloped Sheff Utd 4-1 away. Did them on the break with quick incisive football where everyone was on the same page. Ismael is often revered because of what he did at Barnsley but he was the successor of Struber who had built that team and mentality prior before moving on to New York Red Bulls. Bristol have done well to get him, they could do very well this season. -

A full summer to shape the squad with plenty leaving and others coming in yet Ryan fucking Hedges gets 90 minutes under his belt in the 1st game. -

So, their two CHs can stop the game from clashing heads and then the dropped ball is given uncontested to the keeper. If that's how it goes it's a great way of alleviating late pressure in a game. -

I'm not having a bar of the RB either pal. If we hang our hat on him for a full season we're in all sorts of bother. He struggles with all the fundamentals including taking a sodding throw in. -

With the exception of McLaughlin these new lads all look shite. We are woefully short of quality. -

I just hope that, when the season starts, that there's not this insistence to push Montgomery into the side as the new poster boy for the academy when the lad is patently not good enough. It's not fair on him more than anything. -

File it alongside Junior Hoilett nearly signing a deal extension and Ronaldinho, Riquelme and Beckham almost signing for us. -
Hopefully that puts Sheffield United deep in the shit. They gambled big on going up this season and it could lead to troubled times there. Good.

v Sheffield Wednesday (h) - 8/4/2025
LDRover replied to philipl's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Not for me. Lightweight in the challenge and lost it on a couple of occasions under minimal pressure, played safe when he had possession sideways or backwards and hit the 1st man with poor deliveries on the couple of occasions he was on the overload on the right. I'm pleased for the lad to make his debut and I will say he never hid unlike the lad he replaced but I'm not sure he'll make it as a regular at this level or bring in any money for the shithouses in charge. -

Sorry, he seems a decent lad, but if Montgomery is the benchmark of our Academy 'starlets' then that business model can be binned. You just know that'll be one of the main soundbites from the goons in charge though. -

Laughable stuff. There's absolutely nothing on that pitch. Nada. Zero, while Pishmael stands motionless on the touchline. -

Fair play to ex Dingle Iwelumo there. When pressed on if abuse towards Pissmael was justified he said yes. -
