  1. Have Chelsea been successful? OK they have won the Prem twice on the run, but surely with such a huge outlay true success will be winning the Champions League. I think Mourinho is under immense pressure to win that next year. The jury is still out as far as I am concerned.
  2. IMO - no coincidence at all. We are definitely weaker for it.
  3. Bellamy's second against Boro. A top quality goal when we had our backs to the wall.
  4. Why the effin hell should we offer him a testimonial? He did fantastic things for us but left us - end of story. I wonder how many of those who are desperate to give him a good send off were booing him on his numerous returns to Ewood. The fact remains that he has chosen to play against Celtic rather than Rovers, which to me suggests his love for this club is less than what it should be. Maybe Rovers fans have got what they deserved.
  5. We are certainly mentally strong enough to stand up to a revitalised Pompey and it is well within our capabilities to win. They will have to come at us and that will suit us, especially if we have the pace of Bellamy and Pongo together. I am feeling optimistic and will go for Portsmouth 1 Rovers 2.
  6. Sam for me. The demise of Winky Wanderers is much more important than success for England!!
  7. I would rather have Gallagher reffing than 99% of the other muppets. He let's play flow and doesn't book players unnecessarily. Of course he makes mistakes, like the rest, but at least he obviously understands the game.
  8. It must be a laugh a minute in your part of the world. The hours must fly by. If your trying to be a clever arse then at least be sensible about it.
  9. I had a feeling that might come up on here. Was just about to post something similar!!
  10. Then don't . Much rather than listen to him than most of the other mundane and predictable rubbish that the BBC usually have.
  11. Today showed we now have a spine in our team that we haven't had for many seasons. Todd, Savage and Bellamy were outstanding. Apologies for consecutive posts but I am she-ite faced.
  12. Just accept you were wrong last time and get over it
  13. Nail hit on head!! The drums are a hinderance rather than a help, they are an embarrassment, and a pain in the arris.
  14. Nobody is writing them off, just commenting on what they have seen. I would love it if two or three of last night's team make it through to the first team. I just happen to think it is unlikely.
  15. There is expectation because the Academy is a huge investment by the club, who have stated that bringing through players is one of the priorities for the future.
  16. A couple of coaches apparently. I am sure alot of those were family of players but the ones I met were just fans.
  17. Nigeria are playing in the 3rd place play-off game today so hopefully Yobo will be playing in that.
  18. I was surprised Nolan wasn't playing, he was outstanding in the last round. Is he injured or something?
  19. Excellent summary Den. Couldn't agree more about the substitution of Pezzoni. Having watched the last two Youth Cup games I am less than excited about our current crop of youngsters. The pick of the bunch for me last night were Hodge and Alan Judge (right-midfield). I thought Olsson looked promising, but was extremely disappointed again by Joe Garner. The most impressive performance of the night was from all the Brighton fans who made the journey. I met two of them in the Fox and Hounds before the game, they had travelled up by train. 'Well what else do you do on your day off' was the reply when I asked them why - every credit.
  20. There aren't half some drama queens on here. I am sure some fans think we should go out and win every game we play. That's not how it works. I know we can play better but we also have to remember that West Brom are in a relegation scrap, they aren't going to just roll over for us. We have seen the highs and lows of football this week - it happens. ALWAYS proud to be a Rover!!
  21. If that is what is needed then it surely it is for the best long-term
  22. Did he ever. Instead of trying to keep it tight we came out and took the game to them - and they don't like it up 'em!! Rovers team spirit and character is as good as I have seen it for years - and we can play a bit too. Brilliant stuff, an absolutely fantastic game to watch.
  23. No you don't. Mokoena played a key role in our successful fight against relegation last season. For that alone he can be regarded as a good signing. Whether he is good enough to help take us to the next level is a different matter.
