  1. Work that he got paid handsomely for every month. So if people don't want to line his pockets with their hard earned tenners then who can blame them. Add to that that testimonial games are just crap and meaningless and also that Shearer and the others aren't really playing for Rovers. I find it incredible the number of people who seem to be getting a fix from seeing Shearer in a Rovers shirt again - it's not real. These are just a number of reasons that will keep them away, doesn't make them poor supporters though and I would certainly never criticse anyone for not turning up.
  2. From what I have seen there aren't any youngsters worth 'blooding', much better to keep the same team to the end of the season and try and accumulate points and pounds. The more pounds we have then the better chance of bringing in better players.
  3. I think there are enough people knocking us without our own supporters having a go. So what we have been 'competitive' in a few games this season, if we hadn't we would be in a far worse position than we are now. I say well done Mark Hughes for putting the steel and determination into the team that was so sadly lacking under the previous management. No one likes us and we don't care. Get over it!
  4. What pees me off is that some think they have the right to comment on people's individual circumstances. If people can't afford it they can't afford it - simple as. It doesn't make them any less of a fan than those of us who are going. p.s. To him who it may concern - train tickets are booked. Pick you up about 04.45.

    Semi Final

But what they need to understand is that unless they stop treating the real fans with such contempt then there is no long term future of the game. The fact is it is a money spinner for the FA and they don't give a stuff about the rest of us. The more I think about this the more angry it makes me feel and is certainly putting a dampener on the first semi-final that Rovers have appeared in in my 30-odd years as a fan.
  6. Are you sure you were sober mattym because I don't remember Leicester hammering us.
  7. You chose to stay on the phone so how can you expect the club to refund you? It cost me 56p for two stamps.
  8. But that streak of draws was the catalyst for turning our season round. That streak of draws would have been losses had Hughes not instilled a bit of steel and defensive discipline in the team. Perhaps he felt during those games that MGP wasn't strong enough and preferred not to risk losing a point. Mark Hughes has been totally spot on with his treatement of MGP, which is proved by his recent good form. Accept it and move on!
  9. Yes the manager is a key employee, but are you saying that the CEO isn't? I would suggest that in terms of VFM, we get that from JW as much as any other employee of the club. The total over reaction to this ticket issue absloutely amazes me.
  10. If we don't sell out it won't be the fault of the ticket office, it will be because not enough people buy tickets ... simple as. And as for Jmk2 turning his hate campaign to John Williams now that Souness has gone - pathetic. Personally I think JW has done a fantastic job for BRFC. There are alot of players at this club who have been paid twice as much as him and have given **** all back for it.
  11. Snap - it was last resort as there was no way I could wait for over an hour on the phone whilst at work, and not being able to get the time off either to go to the ground. Hope the Royal Mail are up to it bruv! I think the club deserve a massive pat on the back for realising the problems people have been having and reacting accordingly.
  12. FFS give the lad a chance. Yours is probably the dumbest comment I have read so far.
  13. The good thing is that our manager has experienced it and knows only too well what it is all about. I am sure he will get that across to the players and complacency won't be an issue.
  14. I think you are well and truly outnumbered on this one Mark. Savage will do for me. The midfield set up was very good last night and I would like us to continue with the system as we haven't got two strikers worthy of the name. We are just as likely to get goals playing this way.
  15. Which promotion? The last promotion season - is there a video?
  16. Like him or not booing him if he plays is hardly going to help the team is it. So all you childish people shut the hell up because if Mark Hughes wants to pick him just accept it and concentrate on supporting the TEAM.
  17. Just a slight point - the Scottish League always has been and always will be inferior to the English regardless of who is putting the money in. Barry Ferguson is not up to the English Prem and that has been my opinion since his first game, not just because he wants to leave. The fact is he knows it too and that is why he is running off home to play against the likes of the mighty Kilmarnock and the Wee Jock McPloppy Arms every week. Whether we deserve Barry or not, he certainly doesn't deserve us.
  18. I want a copy of the promotion season video. Anyone know where I can get one?
  19. So anyone who didn't attend last night is not a 'proper supporter'?
  20. I have always said that Ferguson's good games for Rovers have been few and far between, and have been far outweighed by his average and poor games. As long as we can get the right cash for him then he won't really be that much of a loss in the long term. I am sure there are plenty more players who can do what he has done for us. Perhaps we need to try and get in another midfield player to give us more cover at this crucial stage of the season. If I was Mark Hughes I would try and get Scott Parker, if only on loan for the rest of the season. He doesn't look like getting a chance at Chelsea.
