  1. What complete nonsense. Souness's record in the last 12 months, in terms of results and handling of the players and team selections, is nothing short of appalling. Do you think the board are so narrow minded that they would listen to a 'minority' of fans? Do you not think that they had a better idea of what the real situation was than me and you? Do you not think that they could see that this season's performances have carried on from last and that we were heading for relegation? Overall he did a good job for the club but he was on his way out anyway!
  2. .. and his record with Forest and the u-21s is not very impressive.
  3. That is my thinking too, although it is unlikely to happen. I think it might appeal to Shearer though. Failing that - Strachan is the most likely from those currently out of work.
  4. I fear that at his age and his continued exclusion from the first team squad suggests that he may not make it at Ewood.
  5. I haven't seen much of him recently and am not sure how he is developing. As your his number one fan perhaps you can tell us about Donnelly as a player e.g how has he been playing recently? What qualities do you think he can bring to the team?
  6. Then you must have watched a different game. What we needed from him was to hold the ball up and to run himself into the ground to try and take some pressure off. Sorry but I certainly didn't see any of that. He was awful and is a disgrace. Unfortunately it isn't up to me but if it was he would never pull on a Rovers shirt again. The man is taking the urine out of us all.
  7. Not entirely correct as the tactics and management have been the same all along - very poor!
  8. Not too sure about that but i hope your right!! Am I the only one who thinks that???? He provided most of our relatively few class moments today. I thought his first shot was in; then when he robbed the defender, turned him and shot; his run to make the space for Fergie's goal; his ball over the top for Emerton - the boy is our most exciting young forward I've seen for years. I agree with you about Stead. I think his all round game is getting better all the time. I just hope Rovers fans don't get on his back if he goes a few games without scoring because sometimes you have to look beyond the goals scored column. My only worry for him and the other strikers is that we are not going to create enough chances for them.
  9. You are much criticised but your comments are spot on. The manager has totally lost sight of what brought us success before last season. Let's hope diamonds are not forever. Give us width, pace and movement please Mr Souness.
  10. But it isn't just after one game, because that one game is just a continuation of the rubbish that we saw last season. There is absolutely no evidence that there is going to be any improvement this time round. What we lacked most last season was pace and creativity, but the sad fact is that this summers transfer dealings have done nothing to address that problem. Whilst not being a Souness- Out supporter jusy yet, I feel that if we are in a similar situation to last year in a few weeks time then his future as manager has to be looked at by the board.
  11. Some very good comments. Whilst not being a fully fledged member of the Souness-out brigade I have to admit to being baffled by what is going on, especially with the Yorke saga. Some members will just instantly dismiss your comments but I suggest those people are wearing blue and white specs. There are no signs that last season's off the field amatuerism is likely to improve.
  12. And to add to that he has failed to take England forward (in fact he has hardly taken them beyond the halfway line) with probably the best crop of players available for many years. Sack him!
  13. Simon Garner - for obvious reasons David Speedie - a legend for one unforgettable season Howard Gayle - for his pre-match Blackburn End salute
  14. He drifts in when playing on the left. I am not convinced that the switch to centre of midfield is that straightforward. Is he going to be the commanding prescence that we are so clearly lacking? He is clearly industrious but that doesn't automatically make him a quality CM player. Anyway unless Emerton shows a dramatic improvement we will need Thommo on the right.
  15. Welcome back hope it went o.k. Tone Very well thanks - at 60p a pint you can't go wrong can you!
  16. Cheers I hadn't spotted that (just back from hols!)
  17. Its on the official site. We are winning 1-0 - scorer Mr Trialist
  18. Its nothing to do with motivation - we were just crap!
  19. How can you say that when he has been captain whilst we have won promotion, won the WC, and qualified for Europe by finishing 6th in the league. He must have been doing something right!!
  20. An unbelievably selfish attitude that is. But it probably reflects the feelings of a lot of our supporters - oh I will bugger off now that the Walker money has dried up. It is time for fans to repay Jack Walker at the time when the club needs our support more than ever.
  21. What has Nissa done in three seasons to suggest that he can be a long-term successor to Short?
