Doesn't seem much of an improvement on Corry Evans tbh
-
I am same ...maybe it comes down to the type of person we are ..., if I won 10k on a scratchcard I wouldn't just by a brand new car , I'd buy an older one , have a holiday and out some in bank for a rainy day ?
-
They arnt worth that today though , none are first team regulars either , take them on loan with view to buy if they're a success great if not ship them back , far safer than spending £8m on Brerton Imo
-
I agree , I am probably going to be in the minority here but I wouldn't want us to spend £8m on one player certainly not a 19 year old with "potential" I would much prefer to spend half that one someone who like Chris Martin or Rudy Gestede or Scott Hogan or someone like that who albeit older but less of a risk and the other on improving midfield and defence

http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/16439149.southampton-manager-mark-hughes-on-sam-gallagher-and-fraser-forster/ doesnt look like Gallagher will be leaving anytime soon
-
If you judge the players by their time here in the past Gestede wins hand over fist from Gallagher , however he does need quality service to get the best out of him and we just don't have that quality delivery from wide areas just yet , would Chapman change that ??? , would Maddison ?? Plus I think Gallagher is cursed .. 2 relegation in 2 years , us and MK Dons , and nearly Made it 3 last year with Birmingham ???

Is Davenport fit for today's game ?
-
Would like to see us build on last weeks point , although conceding a late goal is disappointing I think a draw at Ipswich isn't a bad result when all things considered, today's is different though and I want to see us win and hopefully Palmer and Armstrong will start to give us that extra attacking threat Rovers win 2-0 Dack and Graham
-
IF Maddison does have an attitude problem the fact that hes still at Peterborough ought to have knocked him down a peg or 2 , Mowbray just might be willing to leave him there til January and see how his attitude and performances have been Would like to see a striker , the need for a target man is well documented , what's not been said is that a target man needs good service , we have the likes of Dack Palmer and Armstrong who are all good technically and an attacking threat but do not have the quality of delivery someone like Gallagher or Gestede would thrive on , even our full backs are not great crossers of the ball , some people have been obsessed with a "pacy winger" , well we had one of them in Feeney ,I would much prefer a winger who could actually cross a ball regardless of how fast he can run
-
I would imagine there would also be a better quality of player available for loan after the window closes .. I mean look at someone like Danny Ings , if he doesn't get a move today He could well be loaned into the championship
-
To bring 3-4 players in on one day is a big ask especially when we're all expecting to see some outgoings , my guess there will be 1 maybe 2 maximum today possibly Bauer , possibly a cheap goalkeeper with another couple of loans later in the month like Chapman and a striker . The Wildcard is obviously the midfielder the 4m bid for Freeman suggests the funds are there for a Big one , Mowbray's cute enough to a) not to overpay and b) not to spend for spendings sake
-
Not saying we will , but don't be too surprised to see a number of teams try and copy England's 3-5-1-1 formation this season
-
Wtf .... ???i was just getting excited about Chapman then this Freeman link ... Have I gone back in time 7-8 years ... Jordan Rhodes apart who was the last player we spent 4m on ???
-
I see Boro have signed Hugill
-
Yes , but if we could get him on loan and use him primarily to come on for those last 20-25 minutes that Mowbray uses to give Danny Graham a rest to build up his fitness I don't see a problem
-
Rudy Gestede anyone ? .. Saw a report linking Boro with Kodija from Villa , having seen both him and Sam Gallagher in Rovers shirt , iknow which one I would rather have .
-
Gentlemen PLEASE Remember this is a football forum , not Vogue magazine ...... That' said ??. Can't see her being too impressed with a night out in Accy and a Doner kebab though ? Which is all I could offer her Not Rovers related but I see Chelsea are about to break the world record for a goalkeeper I've never heard of ...Football at the top really has gone mad hasn't it
-
Think the Bauer thing will happen , either now or January for half of what We are willing to pay now now , McGinn sounds like we are being used to get Celtic moving , I am not a fan of Gallagher to be honest and Hughes' quotes about his young players staying there does cast doubt over that deal too . With 2 days to go I can see us frantically trying to get the next players on the list

Toner Hemed .. Only 31 , for some reason I though he was older wouldn't say as a massive improvement on Graham , but they are cut from the same cloth and would lighten the workload for Danny . It was noticeable last year that Mowbray looked after Graham in the sense that he regularly subbed him about the 60-70 minute mark, Hemed would be someone just as good to come on , and he has scored goals in chamipionship , and I can't see him getting much game time at Brighton and would be relatively cheap( as long as wages aren't ridiculous)
-
Great news if true , i honestly believe that he WILL score goals and his value will soar
-
To sum up the last 2 pages Nugent , no thanks doesn't fit the criteria set by Mowbray Clough , Meh ... I wouldn't want to be a full back in a team A team with Dack Palmer and Clough in it , can't see much tracking back Maddison vs Armstrong ... Armstrong all day long but just to add another name , somebody else on here mentioned a lad at city called Brandon or Brendan Barker was it ? Was on loan at Hibs last season he looked pretty decent
-
Ha Ha ... I don't know ... but i do find myself watching other clubs buy players and then wonder who they might have available , Palace making moves to sign German forward Max Meyer and Jordan Ayew
-
Would you believe me if I told you it was Connor Wickam
-
Think it's because the deadline for permanent signings is fast approaching , and if Chapman and Armstrong were signing permanently they would have done so already
