I actually rate Gallagher and have got in many an argument with some fans who I feel are always looking for an excuse to criticise him. However, he really was dreadful in so many ways on Friday. It sends the wrong message to start him tomorrow after he has played so poorly. I don’t care whether it’s Dolan as a false 9, BBD down the middle or Leonard up there but Gally really can’t start. Best I’ve seen him play this season was the first half away at Middlesbrough. That was as part of a more conventional midfield 3 (Wharton, Morton, Travis) as opposed to a 2 with Dack or Szmodics in front. I would like to see that midfield 3 again before the end of the season, especially away from home

I thought the 5-3-2 formation suited us well today. I would like to see it more often. The only issue I had was that JDT didn’t really pick the right bench to make changes and stick with that formation. With all the games coming up we shouldn’t only have Ayala (old and injury prone) and Phillips (17 and possible getting his head turned) as centre back options for the third game in a row
