  1. Love the variety of opinion: Rothwell going, must be because all the older past it players have left who he was good mates with 🤣. Yet many want him out because he is not good enough to take us to the next level. This morning Buckley was a L2 player, now he is doing Ok against a decent Leeds side. I just find it amusing that so many can’t do anything but complain. Try to be a bit more stress free. It will do wonders for your well being. For the record, I think Rothwell, like Mowbray could do with a move and the squad could do with freshening up a bit. And if we can play the young ones and finish anywhere form 13th -20th, that will do me in this season of uncertainty. We are way past the expectation that we should be a premier league side by right and should be grateful that we are at least generally holding our own in the championship. The youth side has to be the future, or why have it.
  2. Sure. If we win all of our games, then we beat Bristol on Monday, meaning that they can get maximum of 56 from their remaining games if they win all 3. Anything less means maximum 54, less than our potential 55. If Bristol win all of their games then they must beat Big Club who will then also have a maximum of 56, or 54 if they draw one game, but they would have to beat Burton on Monday who would then only have a maximum of 54. Wigan can only get 52. Obviously all the other sides above us can also stay up if they win their games. Hope springs eternal after an improved display against a poor Forest. Great atmosphere. Fans helped players and they responded.
  3. Win all ours = 55, then Bristol max 56, then Brum max 56, then Burton max 54. Wigan max 52. It's in our hands.
  4. Paul Gallagher and Jon Stead both with assists today in Leicester v Coventry. Brings back memories of their superb link up against Man Utd for Rovers.
  5. Clayton wore the no 4 for every match including the FA Cup for two consecutive seasons (54/55 and 55/56). Douglas wore no 10 for the whole of 64/65 without missing a match. Both players also wore no 12 as unused subs in their final season.
  6. Great attempt to win the game today. But give Spurs some credit; they defended extremely well for 75% of the game and took their(dubious) chances when they came. They have had a dodgy run of late, but have performed well all season. They are a good side with promising young talent who are maybe a year or so ahead of us. Both sides have excellent managers and should be looking to the future with hope. Let's face it; would we fancy King, Carrick, Jenas, Defoe, Robinson, Lennon, Dawson in our squad? Of course we would. The task for the board is to make sure Hughes signs the contract and hope that we can clinch 6th spot to get into Europe and generate a little extra cah to bring a bit more quality into the squad. Next week's game against Villa now becomes the biggest game of the season. On Sky again(Nice to have a bit of support in the Queens!?) and a real chance to show the Nation that this weeks performance was no flook. I'll be steaming into the 'any other score' on Betfair. Who will give me 16/1?
  7. Rovers v Fulham at Ewood May 1977 . Finished 1-1. Last game for Bobby Moore and seem to remember that Best also played. Still have the program.
  8. Last season we beat Wolves 5-1. West Brom are better. In fact we only beat Wolves 5-1. Take the positives. As many have said, we would have lost this game last year; Dickov is better than Cole on Saturdays evidence; Yorke is better than Yorke; We were exciting to watch for a while in the second half; There are not really many teams who seem much better on the evidence of one game; We are in the top half; Again, West Brom are going to be much better than last time; We will win at Saints as they will be poor; Souness is as good as all bar half a dozen prem managers. Why are so many of you whingers?
  9. The euphoria was no different to that created when England won the world cup at the other ( it's name escapes me, it's played with an oval ball) game . It's fashionable, and like every fashion it only lasts a while and then dies away.
