  1. Unfortunately, I think you are largely right. However, we also know that Venkys, (and particularly Balaji), do like showbiz, and they would be embarrassed by a protest in a televised game (Welsh tv, but widely available), against a club with Hollywood owners.
  2. Yes, it’s a bit self important to issue a statement like that, and that is what annoys me more than the sentiment (which is basically cosying up to the club). Everyone smile and cheer all the way to oblivion.
  3. Spot on. Amazingly, some supporters still can’t see it for what it is.
  4. £15 on a Monday night when it’s readily available on BBC Wales = oh dear!
  5. That is an odd way of looking at it when, as a minimum, Ipswich are already virtually guaranteed a Play Off place. How many times have we achieved that in the last decade or so? Makes the division they were in last season irrelevant.
  6. I know there are a raft of opinions about Travis, but something is definitely wrong at our end when he can walk straight into a team chasing automatic promotion. On a lower scale, it reminds me of when Sherwood left to join Tottenham. That pretty much sealed our fate. We have allowed our captain and one of the few senior players we had left to walk away, whilst we are in free fall.
  7. He certainly wouldn’t fancy working under a chancer of a Director of football as head coach.
  8. If the season started today, we would go down. We still have a decent gap, and if Szmodics fires against some of the poorer teams then we have a decent chance. I’m purely going off the table.
  9. I doubt very much it was Waggott’s decision to appoint a Director of Football, and it does make me laugh that any criticism of Broughton gets interpreted as support of Waggott. They are both symptoms, and Venkys are the cause of our misery.
  10. We look like relegation on a stick, but we still have a ten point cushion tonight. If QPR win tomorrow, it’ll still be eight, The next few home games will be pivotal. We will know a lot more after games against possible relegation rivals.
  11. I think we’ll probably just survive this season. Next season could be grim from the get-go.
  12. How much did Luton spend last season? Broughton is not the main villain, we all know that, and he didn’t appoint himself. However, especially given the current circumstances, I think he’s way out of his depth.
  13. You might be right , but that would put Broughton in a very strange position. I think it’s more likely it would be a young head coach, who would be happy to tow the line.
  14. This is the whole crux of him being head coach and not manager. He is powerless re - transfers. That’s Broughton’s remit, but in reality it’s completely up to our magnificent owners. Hooray!
  15. I’d even settle for being competitive in the Championship, with a genuine ambition for promotion, and where the primary aim is to win matches. Anyway, back on topic, wonder where Gregg is with his bag of lollipops today?
  16. ……somehow. (‘Life in One Day’, by the poptabulous Howard Jones).
  17. I feel very sorry for JDT. Unfortunately, his stock falls with each defeat. He’s been badly let down by the club.
  18. Thanks for posting this. The stats as compiled by someone watching without red rose tinted glasses on. Of course, even if they had been more favourable to Rovers, the only stat that really counts is the score line.
  19. 1/ I didn’t make the original point about no plan B. 2/ The significant thing I witnessed was a combination of our keeper and a very weak bench costing us the game. 3/ Before you ask, no, I couldn’t have done any better in goal or coming off the bench.
  20. Only two of those were signed this season, and it’s clearly not enough to mitigate for the departure of senior players. We are a development club. I don’t agree with everything Chris Sutton says, but he called it earlier this season.
  21. In proportion with more experienced players, one or two youngsters on loan is fine, as long as the primary aim of the club is to win games. People can try and defend it all they like, but the fact is we have quite blatantly been reduced to no more than a development club with zero ambition. The argument that we are having to do it is neither here nor there in my book. It’s the final season I am going to tolerate it.
