We can afford them, but are choosing not to.

Long term one even better. A bloke who knows how to get promotion and how to keep a small club in the Premier League. Sacking him didn’t do Burnley any good at all.
-
Would be interesting to know who the unknown candidates are, that Elliott Jackson alluded to in his piece today.
-
It won’t happen, but I’d be delighted if it was Dyche. Head and shoulders above most of the known candidates. I think he’d virtually guarantee a Play Off place.
-
I’d sooner have Jimmy Krankie.
-
Agreed, all the process will achieve is to alienate the better, more high calibre candidates.
-
A good job you didn't do a typo in that sentence 😉
-
Do you mean Duff ? 😉 I'm encouraged by Jackson's remark that "Several of the candidates have not made it out into the public domain", (although taken literally that means they cannot be trusted to go out on their own 🙂 ) That gives me hope, at least.

Not now, it isn’t. Karanka is at Number One 😡
-
Someone should ring 606 to challenge him about this on Saturday 😂

Danny Murphy was past it as a player and Paul Lambert’s managerial career was in a downward spiral, having been a relative failure at Aston Villa. The real problem is that we won’t pay the going rate for the better managers who are currently out of work, egs O’Neil, Cooper, and arguably Gerrard, (if he comes with the right staff). That leaves us with ageing desperados, eg Karanka, or young, upcoming managers who would be grateful for the opportunity, egs Duff and Wellens. Given that is the case, I’d rather have Lowe until the Summer than the likes of Karanka, but I’d make an exception for Duff, who just feels like a good fit. Unlike Dunn, he has a brain and could quite conceivably become a successful manager in England.

Yes, it’s like a reality show, “The Manager”, a spin - off from “The Apprentice”, where the applicants have to pass a series of challenges to make it to the final three. Blimey, what a farce!

Suhail Shaikh / Pasha / The Shadow Man
martonrover replied to Upside Down's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Suhail had no prior experience at a professional football club. Parachuted in from India, but he may as well have arrived from the Moon. He probably thinks all the shenanigans are part and parcel of how a football club functions. -
Totally understandable, but he's an addict, and I still feel he wouldn't be able to resist the temptation, given our league position and the opportunity of a glorious finale. We won't go for him because it makes too much sense.
-
Exactly. We don’t need someone to come in and try to change things radically at this stage. We need a good man manager who will reassure both players and fans alike. I can’t believe I’m saying this , but I’d rather stick with Lowe until the end of the season then go with likes of Ismael and Karanka.
-
We’ve just got a load of compo for our previous manager, and our process to replace him centres on who will do the job for peanuts. Bloody great, isn’t it?
-
Venkys Out!

No, he's cheap, desperate and known to Gestede. That is the reasoning behind it. We are dredging the scrapheap.
-
I can see us ending up with David Lowe, which would perfectly tee us up for more dumbing down this Summer.
-
Ditto Wicksy. It’s crying out for Warnock until the end of the season, in my opinion. Zero chance, though.
-
Exactly. Doing it for a brief period in the wake of a manager's departure, with a galvanised set of players, is one thing. Doing it medium to long term is totally different.
-
Coyle was once fantastic at Burnley. Ismael’s recent stats are grim.
-
……and why we’re such a dysfunctional club.
-
Oh dear ☹️ As per Karanka, his recent career does not make for pleasant reading.
