Let’s hope he’s going to be a lucky manager for us. Should be losing and down to 10. -

When are we going to join in to the game? -
Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach

I think as a supporter, the saying “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me”, is apt, although it would need changing to “Fool me three times, I believe in fairies”. It was absolutely crystal clear from Ismael’s interview that he has been given assurances about the Summer and beyond. Maybe we will see a minor miracle and those assurances will be kept, or………. -

Been a tad busy, so I suspect it’s already been covered, but isn’t it amazing that every time we think, “No way will another manager fall for Suhail and Waggott’s lies”, there is always someone who will. It’s either that, or the guaranteed 1.5 million quid that got Ismael to sign up. -

No, but the "message from Ismael" is absolutely harmless, and standard stuff under the circumstances. That's what was causing the furore last night. -

Blimey, all the carefully orchestrated media output is just part of the modern game and modern life in general. It’s mere fluff, and not worth getting worked up over. All that matters between now and May are results. -

Nothing would surprise me, and if the part about being pressured to pick new signings is true, it would’ve only served to make the situation even more untenable. Call me old fashioned (I’ll wear it) but give me an old school set - up, where the manager is the manager and a team isn’t run by committee. -

My worry is that we may have the wrong type of manager for this squad. It’s pretty clear that he and Eustace are polar opposites, and it will be very interesting to see how they take to his very different approach. I’m hoping that last Saturday wasn’t a pre - downing of tools if they had got the word. I think we could be looking at a spectacular success or the exact opposite and nothing imbetween. All good fun. -

The poster I challenged said he would be off in the Summer, because of lies and broken promises. That is what I was challenging. I agree with what you are saying, but to have any offers in the Summer, he will have to get us at least in the Play Offs, and probably at least to the final. Add to that, he's not going to be cheap to pinch having signed a 3 + year deal. I expect he'll have insisted on a release clause, but we won't be talking about peanuts. -

Yes, but JDT already had a strong standing in Sweden, following his successful spell at Malmo, and Eustace had shown his worth by guiding our troubled club into a lofty league position. Ismael will have to do very well in the last dozen games, (and hopefully three more), to attract any admirers so quickly. Let's hope he does just that. -

Where is he going, unless we go up? JDT and Eustace had places to go to. He’ll stick it out for a good while imo. -

Depends on the strength of the bench. At least ours has been fleshed out a bit now. -

Will he b*ggery, (unless he takes us up and someone else Cherry picks him). No-one is forefeiting that kind of dough. It could be fun, because he looks like a sergeant major type, as opposed to Eustace’s arm around the shoulder. Will ruffle a few feathers, I reckon 🙂 -
As per my previous post - he’s just gone from being unemployed to getting a gig that will guarantee him more than a million and a half quid, come what may. Even I’d suck up Waggott’s bullshit for a while for that kind of dough.
-
That’s the smile of a man who has just got himself a guaranteed £1,000,000 + come what may 😉 Honestly, I wish him the very best. He didn’t appoint himself so he starts with a clean slate for me.
-
Yes, it’s interesting that we can keep all that lot, but not shell out for a top manager. I love the wording of the club statement “gained further Championship experience at West Bromwich Albion and Watford” 🙂
-
Yes, I’m sure I saw both his name and Perez earlier.
-
What’s French for “You know” and “terrific”? 😉
-
Also widely reported that he had fall - outs with key players. Let’s move on. I think he’s very lucky to get the gig, but he’s here and all we can do is see what happens.
-
Maybe a clause inserted in Ismael’s contract that if Middlesbrough want him he can just down tools and clear off?
-
My gut feeling, also, but just maybe it’ll click 🙏🤞
-
As in the French word for a penis? We’ve had a few of those !
-
“He” wont be working with a budget at all, so in that respect the fact he is more used to this kind of set - up (just choosing the team and tactics), is probably a good thing. The results of both WBA and Watford fell off a cliff, and I think that was more the reason for his sackings than style of play, Most supporters will suck up unattractive football providing the results are good. Re - the last part, if he was anywhere near getting another job in the Championship we would’ve heard about it. Eustace had only been sacked (ridiculously) earlier last season, so he got another gig quite quickly. Anyway, he’s as good as here so he has my full support. I hope he’s a resounding success.
