  1. Just swap 'Mowbray' for 'Bowyer' and that's almost word-for-word the same appeals made four years ago. Although it was Coyle who took us down, we were already a team in decline who had auctioned off all its best assets. I see nothing stable about our current situation. Those who cannot remember the past are doomed to repeat it.
  2. But what is the point you're making, sir? You conceded that the buck stops with the manager. It's Mowbray's players, Mowbray's preparation, Mowbray's tactics. End of. That's all there is to say.
  3. Aye, I'm sure Joe will get hung out to dry as per usual.
  4. At least Rothwell starts... I guess? ?‍♂️
  5. We'll either get stuffed like Thanksgiving turkey or Mowbray will get a jammy result to buy himself more time.
  6. If things weren't bad enough, I've just realised we'll be wearing that grey abomination today.
  7. Any managerial appointment is a gamble, you either go with the tried and tested model, hoping they haven't passed their sell-by date, or you take a punt on an up-and-comer. It's not an exact science. All I know is Mowbray has outstayed his welcome.
  8. Chapman must have really pissed on Mowbray's chips to never even make the subs bench.
  9. It's Bowyer all over again. Fans would grow weary of his defeatist tactics and dour pessimism, when all of a sudden he'd pull a few rabbits out of the hat. In turn, fans cling onto this slither of hope because they're afraid of the alternative.
  10. Even if we win on Saturday and the lads do us proud, Mowbray's time is up. One game doesn't change a thing.
  11. He's got to go.
  12. Meh. Football is one big jobs for the boys, gay daisy-chain.
  13. That seems rather petty, Chaddy. To blame Coleman for Kean's tenure here.
  14. Thing is, yes we did have a makeshift backline but the manager has to take responsibility for that. First of all, even though Lenihan and Cunningham give us some bite in defence we've still never looked solid. We give goals away cheaply and struggle to hold onto leads. Personnel and finances aside, we need to do much better collectively in keeping teams out. Secondly, he neglected that position in the summer. Promised defensive recruits but only signed Cunningham and a kid on-loan from City. Lets Mulgrew leave and doesn't even bother with a replacement. Nyambe was frozen out, Bennett is a utility midfielder AT BEST, Bell is L1 standard, and neither Lenihan & Williams are centre-backs (although it's probably been their best position for us). Unacceptable.
  15. Well there's certainly some Odd jobs on show.
  16. I often said that Bowyer would've made a decent no.2 for us. He was good at developing individual players (like a youth coach) but lacked the ambition and tactical nous to take us forward. I could see him as the kind, avuncular-type figure to reassure the players after they've been balled out by the manager, but not the one to captain the ship.
  17. Nigel Pearson, Martin O'Neill, Chris Coleman, Roberto Di Matteo, Chris Hughton, David Moyes, Mark Hughes. Any one of those would do. Not too fussed, we need a change. Mowbray's lost the plot and the rot has set in.
  18. Did you find them on Football Manager?
  19. I think Bowyer's dad has to take a lot of credit for the recruitment.
  20. Don't know why Johnno has taken on this messianic quality. Blue and white tinted spectacles.
  21. Yeah Gallagher has been pap for us. I wasn't that impressed with his first stint here. The likes of Davies, Kalinic, Modeste all flopped here and went on to have successful careers, so I don't know if he's just being mismanaged or what.
  22. He's trying to make out it was a tale of two halves, when in reality, it was dire from start to finish.
  23. BECUS WOVERS
  24. They say never go back. I also think Sparky would be in for a rude awakening. We're far from the same club he managed ten years ago.
