  1. An interesting article in the Daily Telegraph today: Away fans staying at home in ticket row. Some fans from clubs are not willing to stump up what they consider to be extortianate prices, sometimes for poor views. Premier clubs are supposed to provide 3,000 seats or 10% of capacity, whichever is lower. However, although home clubs used to make the seats available on a sale-or-return basis. Now, however, clubs are basically giving 1,500 seats on a sale-or-return basis and any figure above that has to be prepaid. So if they are not sold, the away club has to face a loss.
  2. Burberry floated from GUS some time ago. The man behind originals is a Rovers fan.
  3. Sorry about the double posting.
  4. What memories flood back with the mention of Martin Britt's name. John O'Mara contributed to our not getting relegated to the 4th Division but was dire, especially the following season. One of the worst was John Radford-according to Bill Fox.At an open eveing at Ewood, I'd mentioned how awful O'Mara was. Fox said Radford was worse-he'd been brought in to complete the team to get promoted-but he didn't score goals and caused a lot of trouble at the club.

  6. Maybe it's a starting off point.
  7. When we lost at home to Fulham last season, didn't Souness change the formation to chase the game? If I'm right,Coleman will have had a deja vu.
  8. I think Craig Skinner had a decent career- a worse player from that same era was Keith Hill, who had the chance to impress Dalglish but blew it.
  9. ...especially as he wasn't involved in the Reserves match last night.
  10. There is a suggestion that Hughes might not be as lenient as he sounded on Saturday when he meets up with Bothroyd today(LET).
  11. Is there such a thing as a cold madras-apart from what is left over in the morning?
  12. I have no reason why Hughes is not playing him as there has been no news in the local press-unlike De Pedro. On the other hand, Hughes is supposed to have rated him when he played for his national team against Wales.
  13. Exactly. But does that mean he is class or still in the Ashley Ward school of strikers?
  14. Will there be any attempt, when the team has been picked, to contact living members of the chosen team?I would have thought some, including Ronnie Clayton, might be pleased at the recognition of their contribution to the club.
  15. SOUNESS OUT. At least that was the gist of the irate Newcastle fans ringing 606. Playing people in the wrong positions, being too negative etc.I'm sure there will be more news to follow.
  16. We've had a number of posters who favour one particular player, but I don't remember anyone showing such venom.Let us all hope MGP makes it with us, and that the poster returns!
  17. I noticed that too-it's interesting that no-one referred to it last week!
  18. Back to Dickov.....apparently he was unmarked for the goal,so presumably Norwich decided he wasn't going to score!
  19. I think his transfer request was during Hodgson's reign in his second year.
  20. It sounds as though Short might miss the match. Thompson must be feeling a lot better-seemed much more positive about his come back in the LET.Might be on the bench.
  21. That's one more vote,Den. Keep up the good work.
  22. I think someone has already commented that people shouldn't just vote for people they have seen!
  23. Welcome back Jim. We'll have to see if you're right.
  24. On Radio Lancs it said that Matteo missed the game because of injury and he would most likely be in contention for next week's match. In the LET it said that Jay was deputising for Matteo-this suggests that Nissa will be playing again next week. Hughes said,"I thought Nissa Johansson took to his task well."
  25. No predictions on the score......but there was a very interesting article in the Football Supporters magazine,or whatever it's called, about Norwich: about how the club had come back from a real downward spiral and how they had gone out to their potential support to explain the mistakes they had made and to help win back crowds. They were very successful on and off the pitch without spending an awful lot of money.
