One of the rumours I heard yesterday was that Hughes does not ingeneral rate the youngsters at the club nor does he rate Gallagher.

Most people will agree that Bothroyd did well. However we were a little concerned at times with his positioning-either not in a striker's position or didn't have enough speed/stamina to get into position. Seemed to have "run out of puff" by the end so we weren't surprised he was taken off. On Radio Rovers, he said he had been having trouble with his groin during the week so he was taken off as a precaution.

Yes, apart from the one,major,mistake he did very wrong. However,like Neill, he isn't really a full-back, and he continually gets sucked into the middle. Clever coaches for the other teams will suss that and he will also struggle against real wingers, in the same way as Gray.

We also thought Reid really improved in the second half. In the first half, he had looked to be lacking in confidence again but apart from the odd misplaced pass in the second half, he did much better. On the other hand I can't see why everbody raves about Ferguson. In the first half, we noticed a few times when he was just jogging back instead of running harder to cover etc and didn't notice a whole lot of him in the second.His pass to Emerton in the first half was excellent but I can't see how he justifies being paid £40,000 per week.

Yes- we saw it on the big screen. A man behind says that Jay has done that in most Reserve games he has played.

If we were to be relegated the better current players would leave/ be sold.As we have precious little in the way of youngsters coming through-especially compared with the last time we were relegated,I think it's arguable to say Souness left us in a worse state than he left us, having squandered an obscene amout of money on the way.

He was very good for us, he always tried his best, he was desperately upset when we didn't get promoted and he left to further his career- I was a bit surprised Uncle Jack didn't bring him back. During his last season with us we played Liverpool-probably in the league cup. Mcmahon did him and he missed a number of games.In fact he didn't seem the same player.In fact I saw him play for QPR the following season and I didn't think he would make it for them-he just didn't look the same player.But eventually he shook it off and did well for them.

More important than whose fault is it is to question whether he will ever get fit again and what level of quality will he be able to produce.Hughes is being quoted as saying it's good to have Thompson around the dressing room.I'm not sure he will be able to again produce the quality of play we saw when he first arrived, when I think he over-produced.

Let's hope he's the same after the game.

What we're saying again is that here we have a player who might,or might not be, a good player for us. But he's missed a heck of a lot of matches.

He appears to score spectacular goals and get booked a lot.

People in the media who have been watching Liverpool all season say they haven't been playing that well.OK, I know our performances have been shocking,but IF Hughes can come up with a tactical plan,inspire players etc, it is not impossible for us to get something out of the game.

In th cup match against Liverpool the ref said later that if Atkins hadn't scored he would have given a penalty because someone had pushed a Liverpool player.

I think his last first team match was Leicester away nearly 12 months ago. This season he has played for the Reserves but has more recently said he can't come back till he's 100%.

I think he's doing better now but I often prefer his posts as LD Rover.

I noticed that Bournemouth played their next game at home to Cardiff. The match went into extra time, Cardiff went ahead but then had a man sent off in the 117th minute. Bournemouth equalised in the next minute.Penalties:Cardiff won 5-4.

I think he missed the last game.

One of the tings I remember about Sherwood is how he berated his colleagues-even when he caused the problem.

The story was that Preston would not sign both brothers but we would.

I think it could come-look at how long it has taken Hendry to start an improvement. What does concern me more is where he is playing people and I shall be interested to see what he does to improve the defence,midfield and attack.
