  1. I wonder if he would improve with a number of consecutive matches under his belt-he has done quite well at times although he was disappointing on Wednesday.
  2. Was it an acceptable attendance against a club who have used obscene amounts of money to succeed, who have no joie de vivre in their approach to games and who in many ways represent what is going wrong with English football? I don't know; all I know is that my wife and I attended in order to support the current effort by the Directors to lower ticket prices and to get as good a crowd as possible. I would probably not have attended at full prices.
  3. Yes he did improve but I always had the feeling that he could be beaten as he was at times during the second half. Was he still upfield when Chelsea broke for their first goal? People who had seen him in the Reserves before the Liverpool game a couple of years ago said he was playing badly and were surprised he had been recalled. Last season he went on loan to Ipswich but must have broken down again as he said on Radio Lancs he had not played much last season. I still don't see him as a prmiership full back.
  4. It could do- according to Radio Lancs this morning the injury to both MGP and Nonda are not as serious as first feared. MGP should be fit foe Sunday.
  5. also seemed to be well out of position for the first goal.
  6. I was just going to post that Hughes on Radio Lancs was saying that he was treating this competition seriously, it had been good to us last season and we were playing the champions. There were one or two players who had knocks who couldn't play but he would be putting out a strong team. Headline on teletext is that Jose wants to win the cup again.
  7. Coming back to the issue of offers on tickets, Williams has said that the club would continue to regard the season ticket holders as the most important people. On this basis there might well be more offers, but only in the context that it still has to work out better to be a season ticket holder.
  8. The chairman said that West ham played like a pub team. Pardew said that this defeat would encourage them to kick start their season. Oh no!
  9. He shaped up to do a short run up but in the end he chose a longer run up.
  10. The Daily Telegraph lists Fortune and Nolan as being booked. The LT lists Jaaskelainen, Hunt and Nolan!
  11. We were linked with signing Ball on the last day of the transfer window.
  12. I thought Hughes had refused the request from Grayson, who had then gone onto sign a left back from another club.
  13. I agree with your point about the penalties, but according to the LT Fortunes was not booked! The ball boy looked more like a man than a boy! He rolled the ball to Diouf rather than throwing it to him.
  14. The article in yesterday's LT suggested that Reid was going for a scan and they did not have the results yet. The paper also said Nelsen could be playing by the end of January.
  15. Radio Lancs said that Emerton played well in the first half and neill played well in the secon half. Jeffers seems to have taken up his rightful role as 4th striker.
  16. I don't know and I am surprised it's not mentioned on the back page of the LT, where there is a big article featuring him.
  17. It is a fair journey from Toronto, but it isn't a 12,000 mile round trip.
  18. Thanks for that! I see he scored for the under 21's last night.
  19. MH said on Radio Lancs today the club had not been approached by Norwich.
  20. Sorry about this...............but why would he sat he was happy at Liverpool?!!!
