Radio Lancs were also feeling very positive about tonight- thinking that Hughes was really hammering home the message that tonight was a reflection of last year's success and that it is important we do well.
Yes, many apologies, I did make a mistake and missed out the "t".
I think Benni must be playing up front as the speculation on Radio Lancs was whether Gallagher would be playing as a "2" with the striker or whether he would be playing elsewhere.

As for the sixties, well purely from a Rovers perspective, they were disastrous.
The removal of the maximum wage was a disaster for town clubs, including the Rovers and the relegation and what followed were also disasters. But there was some amazing football played at times, with some brilliant players.
It is certainly a big game for MH and for us. He wants us to do well this year, but also to keep on qualifying for European matches as a means of getting a higher profile and bringing in better players-the LT, as well as suggesting all there things, also suggested it would be a means of helping to keep Neill.
I always preferred Wright when he was at Palace-he seemed to enjoy himself more. I remember a home game on Oct 8th 1988-OK, I looked up the date!-when we won 5-4 and had the "rub of the green" in which I thought Wright played really well.
If the question means"Who is the player on Neill's left as we look at the photo" I don't know. If it means "Who is the player who Neill would have judged was standing on his left during the photo shoot", it's Stopforth.
James(?) Thomas is now at Lanelli, having left Swansea. He has also missed the last 2 seasons due to injury.
He was a striker, taken on the year after Beattie.
I think it is a very interesting question. Some people. including some whose opinions I value, rate Savage and think he makes a valuable contribution. I personally think along the lines of the Emperor's new clothes. Not many people on this board agree with me, but many of my friends who support the Rovers do!
Didn't we read somewhere that MH had made a £2mil bid for him on the transfer dead line that was turned down? If that is true, it seems MH is interested in him and is perhaps acknowledging midfield as an area to strengthen. If we were to sign him, I presume it would be on the basis that we could improve his performance and turn him into a more valuable player, not necessarily with the intention of selling him.
