  1. He brought 12 players in though Bigdogg so i find it hard to fathom that they wouldnt have let him spend a little bit. It would have been better getting something for them rather than nothing especially with the position we find ourselves in. Its foward planning and considering the amount of times he mentions his plans for the club then as an experienced football man i would expect him to be looking longer term rather than pinning his hopes on the delusions he had of us being a top six squad last season. We did not need to bring 12 players in to finish 15th, half of thrm contributed nothing. I agree nearly every aspect of the club is sub standard and by no means am i laying all the blame at Mowbrays door here. Our owners are the major problem here i am not disputing that but at the sametime i understand they are not football people and they pay the people on the ground to run the club on their behalf. With the money they have provided and the money they pay these people they should be getting more for what they are putting in. For example might be a small thing to you but i live on the street beside the ground ,walk past it everyday and it was utter disgrace the state of it,Rubbish weeds all over the place etc. To the owners be a trivial matter so im expected to believe our 300k a year ceo has to contact the owners for permission and the money to do something about it. The owners agree a budget the club work off that budget so i believe the people on the ground are to blame aswell for the situation we are in including Mowbray The most suspicious thing is why they have never just forked out the money for a top ceo and a decent manager
  2. Bevause you make statement like the manager has been hamstrung by budgets when up until this summer he clearly hasnt! You are right tho no point us going round in circles
  3. Not if we start being sensible and become a trading club. We are likely to see a decent amount for Brererton. They will spend again when allowed imo, some will be spent in the summer but im hoping there will be a proper plan this time but i wont hold my breath on that score
  4. Clearly we did leave it too late.If they werent for signing new deals then they should have been sold to get the maximum value we could, like every other club does. I dont think Lenihen has progressed like i thought he would, i think he is pretty poor as individual. No arguing with the fact we get better results with him in the team but thats aided by the fact the alternatives were so poor. Id need to see some more of Wharton but from what iv seen he looks liks he will be a better defender than Lenihen.
  5. How much did birmingham get for Bellingham?More than we got for Armstrong
  6. What would have stopped them just selling the STC directly to a developer down the line? Why did they have to set up a new company ,inject 16.6 million into the club to use the site for housing?
  7. Yeah but my question is what was stopping them from just keeping the STC as part of the club assetts and then selling it directly to a developer down the line?We couldnt have stopped that?So the worry would still be there
  8. Well finance and ffp experts and the accounts alligned with the ffp regulations suggest the 16.6 milliom was needed as was the Armstrong money? If you have a better understanging off ffp and if you know the accounts to be wrong then fair enough but from everything in the public domain then we couldnt spend a decent amount this summer. Why would they have done this with the training ground if it wasmt for the benefit of the books and even the Armstrong sale was with 2 weeks left of the window and it looked like there was a last ditch attempt to bring someone in Maja. The accounts also show the owners have put in the max allowed over this period so they COUlDNT put in anymore money. The proof will be in the pudding next summer when they are allowed to spend again. If competitive money isnt spent i will come back to you,say i got it wrong snd apologise. They spent money bringing all these players in they didnt have a crystal ball that told them in the future Armstrong would be sold for 10 million profit. And in the past they have spent aswell, stopping when it comes to the end of the cycle.Already had a transfer ban due to failing FFP I agree with a lot of what you post, but when it comes to this i disagree. They have spent money on the squad, no argument a lot of that was wasted and dead money,no argument that they have no interest and the way the club is run is a joke and no argument it is hard to see us progress with them in charge. But they do spend money.
  9. But they will be allowed to put more money in from the summer. Obviously im not saying i know they will do that for a fact but history tells us they do spend some money when allowed
  10. Pay themselves? The 16.6 million came from the venkys
  11. Yeah but its better than a transfer ban and possible points deduction.
  12. Its not just about transfer fees he has been well backed over the 5 years Those clubs had parachute payments, others sold players In 5 years mowbray has sold 2 players of value, Raya and Armstrong and one of those came from academy And the raft of cheap poor players signed snd kept on for the legnth of their contracts or even worse getting contract extensions how many times did sam hart get his deal extended. All these cheap signings added together will have cost You also have the costly Ayala, Holtby , Johnson deals were no transfer fee involved but were on more money prior to coming here stamds to reason signing on fees involved.Players with NO resale value. Il do the math later but Gallagher and brereton were 12 alone Im not saying the backing he recieved should have guaranteed promotion but i dont expect the squad in the state it is in either
  13. Tony Mowbray has not worked on a shoestring up until this summer. Now do you think we were close to the ffp limit or do you still think it was "dreamnt up by the fans"
  14. In essence the venkys will be paying the mortgage off anyway as the club is reliant on their support. Its not ideal but like if they wanted to sell the training ground at any point could we have stopped it?The headline could have read STC sold to the issa brothers. The club obviously needed this money being put in.
  15. Mate i have never once argued that viewpoint so not sure what you are on about? My arguments are with the statement that they are unwilling to spend money, when the league rules(something the owners have no control over) wont allow them as they have hit the limit. They have wasted 141 million. The club needed the 16 million injected or do you want sanctions. There was nothing stopping the owners not setting this company up, not injecting 16.6 million into the club, keeping it and then selling it directly to a develepor. If someone can give me a legitimate reason why this is some sort of ploy im all ears
  16. They spent to make the black hole in the first place. There is nothing to suggest we were on the brink of admin.Even this summer not a lot was spent but a little was.The owners simply cant put in more money at this point without exceeding what is allowed through owner support. Im sounding like a venky apologist so i will make my position clear I think they have zero interest and have no plan and repeatedly make the same mistakes but they have put money into the club through transfers. They wouldnt put the club on the market first before considering Admin? This has all been seen before (not talking about training ground)we go through periods of spending then it stops then it starts again...there are 141 million reasons to suggest the venkys didnt come for quick buck, a lot of factors support that viewpoint imo.Its quite clear from finance experts alligned with the accounts that this money was needed otherwise the threat of sanctions.Thats not to say when the owners are allowed to throw more money down the drain they wont do.
  17. I just dont get what other reason there is for this other than making the books a little better. Why would selling it to another company set up by themselves and putting 16 million into the club make it easier for housing to be put there? In owning the club if there was a hint housing wouldnt be oppossed they could have sold it to developers directly so why the charade of doing it this way?
  18. But yet they were willing to fund transfers up to this summer,? I know they are odd fuckers but they just made a 10 million profit on a player, and are looking like making another profit on Brererton. In mowbrays reign they have stumped up the cash for the squad, loads of players have come through the door and Raya and Armstrong out as first teamers. When we lose the spend from our first summer back in the championship then more leeway to spend. I really do believe some money will be reinvested into the squad next summer
  19. He can look at the accounts like everyone else though
  20. But like Revidge says it doesnt take a finance expert to know the club were skating on thin ice regarding ffp. The accounts show the owners have put in the max they are allowed in this cycle.
  21. In fact im sure he has even spoken about this in the media. One of the many times he spoke of his shock over players and agents demands
  22. It has been transferred to the clubs accounts back in June.
  23. Wasting your breath. He wont believe you . Didnt you know he deals with contracts in his line of work whilst we spend our time playing football manager
  24. For how much more than the 16 million they have already paid for it?
