If this guy does sign it will be a small fee,probably in the £100k mark he might like Lyons be bought to play in the 23s to begin with. Hopefully we will still be looking for another who can play that position and compete with Nyambe as an injury to him now and it probably puts Buckley in that position as no other alternative with Costello out

I would rather a a rb/right wing back.It will be hard to attract a decent centre half as they will be potentially 5th choice behind Wharton,Lenihen,Van Hecke and Ayala. If we sign a decent rb/rwb then if need be we can put Nyambe in as the right sided centre back in the 3. We have loads of players capable of playing at centre half but in the right wing back role currently we only have Nyambe who is out of contract in 6 months and JRC who cant keep fit. With Nyambe out of contract in 6 month surely the club have been scouting players for that position this past year

Butterworth hasnt played 90 mins of senior football and has spent the last 2 years injured.He needs to be playing with his talent and if another foward is brought in and Dack comes back his playing time here will only lessen. We are reaping the benefits of Whartons time away.Carter would benefit from another loan spell

I rate Butterworth but still even if Dacks fitness is an issue he will still be behind Khedra, Dolan, Brererton and Gallagher and if Maja or another foward comes in then he will still be behind all those in the eyes of the manager

Butterworth looked very good and earlier in the season Carter too. But both werent in the squad last night.A squad that still has to welcome back JRC and Dack and we will probably bring a couple in in january aswell.You think Butterworth and Carter will be happy? For the longer term betterment of both the players and club it would be sensible to loan them out.Butterworth is 21 now he is yet to play 90 minutes for the club and half a season playing week in week out will help with his fitness too.The two previous years he has been injured and if he stays here in january that will be 3 years with hardly any football played.

Butterworth and Carter aint going to play though.Butterworth will be even further behind in the pecking order when Dack returns and if they sign a bit of magic in midfield and a striker like you want. We didnt activate Rothwells and Nyambes deals until the end of last season. Granted foreign teams are more likely to be interested in Brererton but the year extension exists if there was any thought of him signing a pre contract elsewhere then the year would be activated.

Hedges name was linked to us last January so a year ago the point i was making still stands. I will bet with you now if Hedges signs a pre contract for next season and if we do get promoted a better quality player will be signed. 35k a week is on the low side in the premier league.Yes we should be sensible but we will have to start paying players at least that to have any chance of prolonging our stay. If we are gonna go down the route of signing better younger players from lower leagues then i would rather we pay 10 million for Joe Worral at Forest and pay what it takes to take Campbell from Stoke than Hedges.

I dont know the budget if we get promoted but id wager we will be at least doubling what we currently pay our highest earner.We used pay players 35k a week in this league.

The budget will be bigger than it is anyway and if we want to stay in the league then we will have to be paying our players more than 18k a week

Brighton rate Van Hecke and Khadra, they loaned them out for experience. They have already given Khadra a premier league debut.

The premier league is a whole different level if we sign Souttar we would have Lenihan,Ayala, Wharton, Souttar and Carter. Only 1 of those players has Premier league experience in Ayala and his experience was relegation. We would need to be signing at least one centre half who is comfortable playing at that level.
