  1. On another note be better for Leonard to head to League One if he is to go out on loan I don't think he would get sufficient minutes at either Plymouth or Portsmouth if those teams did make offers
  2. Passed that point. It's a 2 game ban for 10 yellows now
  3. That's what I'm saying if we ain't prepared to pay the fee or wages then don't waste time on it in the hope you will get a last minute deal
  4. We are fifth in the league Nantes have asked for £3.6 million pay the fee, pay the wages of the player and surely we are more attractive due to our position in the table(if up against Hull) If club ain't prepared to pay what is needed they should be walking away now and going for others not trying to haggle
  5. All the Szmodic money all the Wharton money and the Raya money was needed to pay bills? If so because the owners are refusing to help .Venkys out On your last point, we should have quite a bit of budget left then because so far we have missed out on all our top targets They would have preferred Kitching to Sanderson as he can play left back also, probably would have been more expensive They would have preferred Baker to stay ,and he would be on more money than what Foreshaw is on.Surely? Links with Wallace ,Schlupp,Bta, apparent 4 million bid in for the fella from the Swiss league all more expensive than Kargbo So I presume you believe we will spend a few Millon between now and deadline and if we don't you will be critical of the club?
  6. Hull will probably come in and sign him
  7. Loan with an obligation to buy I think
  8. Sky have them as favourites to sign Ihneacho
  9. We wouldn't be paying 40k a week A club will take him paying 20k max.He can play LB if needed did for boro many times, left on the 3 if needed, even as a ten if needed I'd rather him than no midfielder being signed or another cheap punt, he has had a disappointing couple of years but a signing like him would give the players and management a massive boost rather than another player they have to google
  10. Dieng been out though and they have brought in Travers who is a good goalkeeper. Spoilt for choice with their attacking options now If Carrick doesn't make top 6 with this backing surely Gibson will replace him in the summer
  11. Would they qualify for permits or would they have to take up one of the slots for players who don't qualify? As we have all those slots filled...makes the signing of the young French guy odd unless there was supreme confidence he could maybe become a first team player in the not to distant future we shouldn't have used one up on him
  12. Plus reportedly bidding less than Coventry paid for Asante, sky had us in at £1.7 . Pissing about under bidding hoping for a favour while players within the budget we have are snapped up by other teams Then we sign the player we could have signed and got involved in the squads much earlier The budget is shit but they move so slow
  13. Sky are saying they are leading Celtic in the race to sign Ihneacho If the signings they have made gel you would have to put them as taking a play off place even when they lose Latth
  14. Have we reinvested any of the Wharton or Szmodic money? The money for Gally,Ennis and Whalstedt paid for our signings in the summer The Wharton fee, the Szmodic fee and the Raya sell on disappeared. We are in the playoffs have had big money coming in. Is it not understandable for supporters to be dissapointed that the best they could do is bring In a 34 year old midfielder who struggled for minutes at a team in relegation trouble? Look at Millwall lose a player and within a week have broken their transfer record and also signed up other players. It's taken us all month to sign Kargbo, shouldn't have been a difficult deal to do considering the price and no other teams in for him Its been a shit window again
  15. Cissoko probably cheaper if its a straight loan
  16. Where they still targets though? The way I was looking at it , it was one of the hibs fella, Cissokho or Kargbo. Obviously he doesn't know everything. But that was what Nixon was also saying. The bid for the hibs player was made before we had agreed a fee for Kargbo I don't see us being for 2 wingers, when midfield left back and striker have been mentioned by Eustace, I could only see us still being in for the lad from Hibs if Kargbo or him are being viewed as a striker
  17. Eustace said at the end of his post match presser hoping the club add another 2 or 3 to really help the group after speaking about the Kagbo signing https://youtu.be/qFO68qj1CH0?si=PW9oND8LeZn3-e4k
  18. I sincerely hope it is bullshit
  19. Huge win ahead of two tough away games Great to have Travis back and Brittain is in great form
  20. Why wasn't Leonard on the bench tonight?
  21. What was hyam £1.7?Anything under up to £2 million excellent value .Poor last season as where many .excellent first season and has been this Brittain cost £1 million ,2 seasons before signing him he had been one of the better wing backs in the league when Barnsley finished in the playoff spots he was never a poor value signing at a million quid . And the biggest issue no new contracts signed since Broughton left. If you haven't listened to the podcast whilst Broughton was still employed by the club his recommendations of how the transfer money should be used aligns with nearly everybody wants on here Don't get me wrong with any ambition we could do a lot better than Broughton but from where I'm sitting and on evidence so far he has been replaced by worse and a lap dog in Gestede
  22. We have signed our share of duds undeniable But when you have such a small budget it's inevitable If you could build a promotion team out of freebies, loans, and transfers not costing more than £1 million then every club would be doing it.
  23. Yeah but we got our money back for them more or less.Managers can also make shit signings In Broughtons defence when a little money was spent Hyam,Brittain, Szmodic where signed nobody could argue they haven't all proven excellent value. Even in the January Broughton wanted O'Brien and Undav and was hoodwinked like the rest of us that the club could do those deals Following summer it started OK, Tronstad long term target secured ,Sigurdsson a player with champions league experience, close with Batth then the budget was pulled from under him and Lower cost players brought in that weren't anywhere near the standard required My biggest issue with Broughton was how he talked up the signings but I think he was as let down as jdt was Do I think the club are in a better place now Broughton has gone? Probably not ,no players have signed new deals since he left and no sign we are even talking with the likes of Brittain and Travis. Plus that podcast Broughton did before he left, and he spoke on the Wharton fee and his recommendations on how the budget should be used aligned exactly how I felt it should be used. Just another fella in a long list of fall guys
  24. Yeah but do you not counter that with the good signings? Szmodic,Hyam,Brittain,Tronstad With a small budget even the best recruitment team in the world wouldn't be getting every one right To be fair despite being one of the lowest spending teams in the league we have finished 8th , 7th, poor season ,and are currently 7th in the league now with over half the season gone So overall recruitment have done OK it comes back to budget or an unwillingness to spend significant money to push us on that's the issue
