  1. Also what's the plan for the players out of contract in 2026. If they don't extend by the summer will we invite offers for them or will we spend the next 12 months reading in the telegraph that offers have been put forward to the players then when Sumner 2026 arrives they will leave the club on a free like Lenihen ,Nyambe and Rothwell?
  2. For clubs with owners with little ambition like ourselves I presume the advantage they see by waiting until the later stages of the window, is clubs and players are more likely to do us a favour,by accepting only a percentage of their out of favour players wages or paying off parts of their contract to get them away For example right now Forest would be playing hard ball with O'Brien and be demanding as close to his wages as they can get but as the window draws closer they will be more open to reducing the percentage of his wage they want covering I don't agree with it but just my assumption why a club with a small budget would go that route,we never get the required additions in anyway
  3. A few nonsense rumours will Start appearing now But nobody will be signed in time for Saturday
  4. Eustace confirmed yesterday we had bid for a player Only cash bid that has been hinted in the media has been Asante, it might not be him but best bet it is at the moment
  5. Il go with C Venkys have been here long enough to know themselves that money needs putting towards the squad They will also be well aware of how much we have brought in in the transfer market and how little we have spent And surely they know how little cash they have sent over in comparison to other years If the owners wanted to spend they would do.
  6. Looking at Weimann coming off on Saturday I'd be surprised if he starts this one
  7. Thought you wanted a striker? I might be wrong here as haven't been watching as much footie outside of the Rovers lately, but doesn't Asante predominantly play on the left hand side of a 3 behind a central striker?
  8. Or he keeps losing possession. Cantwell being poor isn't just down to the players around him .I expected much better The players around him didn't miss the easy chance v Hull
  9. And then venkys replace him with someone as equally incompetent. Getting rid of Waggott does absolutely nothing to help our plight We will only ever get a decent CEO when venkys sell the club. Somebody decent, somebody competent and coveted wouldn't work for our owners
  10. Cantwell will need a buyer. He was available in the summer for next to nothing and I didn't see teams lining up to buy him. So far his performances not been worthy of a lot of interest so if he does go in the summer it will be for a similar fee we bought him for or for nothing getting his wage off the books
  11. Probably not.Not if Travis and Tronstad are still here Baker will probably look for a club with more of a chance of starting We should be able to afford and attract better than Baker if they spent a few quid anyway (which they wont) and come summer we will down grade again
  12. Yeah cus he has no other choice. Tronstad, Travis out Baker gone back That is why he will be wanting a midfielder
  13. It isn't guesswork. If Stoke came in tomorrow morning and said to the club you can have Lewis Baker back but we want Buckley in return what do you think Eustace would say? I'd presume he would ask for Baker back due to the fact he put his trust in him to start games and left Buckley and Jrc on the bench
  14. When was the last time Eustace gave JRC minutes in Central midfield? Chaddy If both Buckley and JRC where rated as good championship midfield options he would been giving then more minutes and giving Travis and Tronstad a bit of a breather by taking them off. It was Baker he picked when Travis was out He isn't going to be happy having to play his 4th and 5th choice midfielders
  15. Travis and Tronstad have been two of our top performers. We have already seen a decline in results by just missing 1 of them Midfield has to be a priority now.Its just nonsense that you feel Buckley and Forshaw are adequate replacements A quality striker and winger will be no good to us with a powder puff midfield
  16. Why can't we sell or loan Buckley or someone else and replace them with better
  17. Sheffield United had a 25 man squad in and now are bringing in 5 players Middlesbrough had a 25 man squad and are now in for 2 players Burnley had a 25 man squad and have added Chaddy some of the players in our 25 man squad are not promotion chasing quality, they play minimally and an ambitious club with a decent budget would replace them, and leave them out the squad or sell/loan them If we only sign 2 players a winger and a striker and ignore midfield and left back we will fall away You can't expect us to have as good a second half of the season with two of the better midfielders in the league out and replaced by Buckley and Forshaw Surely you recognise that Buckley and Forshaw are nowhere near as good as Travis and Tronstad ffs
  18. Is it not the same every year? If we had a decent budget then more players would be in. We have serious issues with injury and attack not clicking yet there seems to be little urgency whilst our rivals who don't have the injury issues we have are making moves. Plus apart from the fact we have made a bid for a player the head coach seems as in the dark as the fan base over when players are going to be signed. Get on with it before we find ourselves losing ground
  19. Better than shrugging my shoulders and watching us slide down the table Protests etc would bring a little media attention We need them gone. Boro in for Travers and Whittaker.West Brom supposedly signing a lad from Belgium for 2.5 million
  20. No I don't think we will I think Eustace would if he had the financial backing I rate Jrc but he plays minimally and if Sanderson or Carter or Eustace preferred options to fill in at rb when Brittain not available where does he play If Eustace rated Buckley higher he would have seen more minutes off the bench previous to Travis and Tronstad injuries
  21. What difference would it make ti Waggott? He's not going to quit and venkys won't sack him. Yeah can't wait for Mr work experience Rudy to take over or maybe they will aim higher and bring Derek Shaw back
  22. Whilst we wait for the scraps nobody else wants on deadline day
  23. Or leave other players that ain't good enough out of the squad Like for example Forshaw, right fair enough a cheap signing who we could get that would be brought on to see out games etc or if he proved himself to be better than Buckley then fill in for Travis But with both first choice midfielders out a club set on promotion would invest in that area on better quality and leave forshaw out or look to loan or sell Buckley. Eustace doesn't see JRC as a central midfielder and if he is going to favour Sanderson or Carter at rb when Brittain is out/ need a rest then Jrc could be loaned/sold not given a space in squad if the club had ambition and where willing to spend a little money on putting together a squad that can sustain the good start of the season
