  1. Swansea sell Grimes for an initial 3 million and Swansea straight away are in talks and have a bid in for a £2.7 million replacement Jealous
  2. Granted the clean sheets haven't been forthcoming recently but in seasons past we where susceptible to taking hidings and conceding 2 or 3 goals per game. With the way Eustace has us set up we are nearly always in a game If Gueye performs aswell as he has last couple I can see 3 points here.Disgusting the manager and players haven't been helped with players through the door anyone added be to late for Qpr aswell. Next 3 league games massive
  3. So what have the club been doing the last 3 or 4 weeks? It's taken Eustace that long to realise experience Championship attackers are "beyond us" That's why fans are angry, the manager hasn't been backed and we are bargain bin shopping again taking out of favour castoffs from clubs with a lower league standings than ourselves or taking punts on cheap foreign players That's if we even sign Kargbo, probably fly the poor lad over then change our minds again when a prem club offers us their star under 18 winger on loan for the season
  4. I do think our own team are more grittier than we have been in the past, plus we are going into the game as a much stronger defensive unit I do agree with Eustace aswell, in the main performances haven't been terrible in this bad run considering the players out we have stuck in games and bar 1 or 2 with a bit more luck more points could have come our way Travis back, no midweek game,Whiteman a miss for them I'm feeling confident tonight
  5. It's a tough one pre the dof era managers in this country where given time in the job now most manager don't last a season so I can see why they don't have the say they once did when it comes to recruitment At this club and under this ownership having a dof Is pointless as they leave quicker than the manager. We have too high a turnover of backroom staff to implement any sort of long term plan for the club . Plus how many models has this ownership gone through during their tenure, they stick with nothing here.
  6. We could have signed 10 players for that considering the club haven't spent more than £1 million on an initial fee for an individual in 2 and a half seasons
  7. Fans have a right to be angry that we have waited near all January to end up with a cheap by championship standards gamble? This signing could have been made weeks ago. Big ask for him no matter his quality to come over mid season to I'd presume a higher intensity league than a seria b and make an immediate impact Now if this signing is being made to facilitate a larger fee or wage to a more proven player in another area then ok I could see the merits but we are gonna end up with him snd another 1 maybe 2 loans I don't believe they will be the quality the fans, team and management deserve
  8. Other teams would have taken Beck and Cantwell and for me overall Cantwell has been poor Ohashi has been a decent signing overall but a gamble , he has had his share of poor performances. It's clear Eustace hasn't chosen Kargbo and if he has I'd be frightened to see the alternatives. Eustace stance on changing from "championship experience names" top players" to "good players " as the penny has dropped the club won't be providing that. To date we have signed an aging midfielder who couldn't get in the team at Plymouth and a centre back who couldn't get in the team in League one And the only other known close signing is an attacker who has not shown as good a form moving up a league from Seria C to Seria B You hardly think Eustace is happy with that? You surely ain't happy with that
  9. Nothing like a January window to kill all hope God knows what the summer will bring but odds on Eustace will be off and we will make a Coyle type appointment. More cheap signings under £1 million will be made and the players out of contract in 2026 won't sign new contracts and instead of selling and replacing with the money received we will let them run their contracts down like we did with Lenihen, Nyambe and Rothwell(I agreed with them not selling that January do to the circumstances)but a take it or leave it decent contract offer should have been made the previous or even the January before and if declined then we should have been looking to sell them At least that time we finished 8th in the league we probably be relegated next season No way can we keep getting away with spending so little in the transfer market. If they ain't gonna spend a bit this window no chance they will in the summer Depressing
  10. Then we can't afford Eustace top targets from the list. I don't think Kargbo has anything to do with Eustace, probably made tentative enquiries for the likes of Schlupp and Wallace, found out the costs and club have gone for a player probably recommended by someone Gestede knows like the young lad we signed in the summer I would have more faith if this Kargbo came from nowhere but our interest has been known since the summer. He will be on small wages his fee most likely under a £1 million but nobody else seemingly trying to sign him? The team and management deserve a known player someone to come in who will instantly improve the team and instantly improve moral and raise everyone's efforts in training etc. The players will be like us never heard of Kargbo and be on YouTube looking at him
  11. Wonder what we have seen in Kargbo that other clubs have missed. Eustace must be fuming behind the scenes he has repeatedly mentioned "experience " and "names" and players like Schlupp, Wallace, Bamford,Asante being mentioned. He wouldn't have kept mentioning "names " etc if he wasn't under the impression we had the budget for it Hope it works out for Kargbo but it's not a signing a promotion chasing team is making unless alongside others and he is given time to bed in
  12. Latth scored 14 in 31 there and was in seria b with not a great record before thst and has gone on to be excellent here. Granted boro when they signed him brought others in with him so was a gamble they could take. If spending 3.3 million on a single player then I'm sure Eustace would want it spending on a player more proven We won't spend that on a player anyway. It will be Kargbo for under £1 million and 1 or 2 loans
  13. Yeah and taken us nearly all window to get a player the manager hasnt picked A player nobody else seems to want given we have had free reign to sign him Utter rubbish waiting weeks for signings only for us to plump for a cheap gamble. Guess the championship experience box was ticked with the signing of Forshaw
  15. I seen someone mention the same on fb I don't see how Newcastle let him out though unless they are bringing a player in which from what Howe was saying was unlikely
  16. Travers due for a medical at Boro according to O'Rourke If true they won't be coming for Pears
  17. Loads of players have more pace than Wallace loads of younger players there aswell The way I look at it is this Kargbo's stats at a lower level than championship imo are not impressive. Our interest has been in the media since summer, he is available for a low fee.Where is the other interest? Why does it seem we have free reign to get him? If Wallace was available for transfer tomorrow we would have competition and he would get in our side immediately. Pointless talking about it anyway as Mowbray will play him and he will stay at west brom. And we will sign Kargbo and the manager will prefer Hedges or others and Kargbo will be seen off the bench Eustace said he wanted 2 or 3 brought in and names...he won't be referring to Kargbo
  18. I'm unconcerned about West Brom fans opinions he is competing for a place with better players than we have Fellows and Mikey Johnstone(who hasn't even started for them that much)to name 2 they would walk into our 11 as would Wallace Be honest how much have you seen of Kargbo? Who do you honestly believe Eustace would want out of the 2?
  19. Wallace would be a better bet of getting us into the top 6 this season.End of Wallace is a top player at this level amd chalk n cheese if comparing him to say Hedges.Him or Karbgo there isn't a choice to make
  20. Kargo if desired is a signing that should be made if you are bringing better quality in alongside him and give him a chance to bed in ,no pressure on him if it fails and it turns out he isn't up to it at this level then not the end of world As it stands going off the speculation in the media and lack of links with other players it's looking like he is going to be our main and most expensive signing of the window. Its disgraceful
  21. Agreed.Kargbo won't be what the manager wants An unknown body through the door and he be talked up by Gestede in his end of window interview Some of the stuff I'm reading on fb etc " be a class signing " going off a YouTube clips so some will buy that crap...that we have invested in an exciting talent
  22. Wallace hasn't even turned 31 yet and if he has it was recently. Much more to his game than being able to run fast Wallace found himself out of the team at West Brom but he like I said back in the team at the weekend was captain and scored Wallace is a top championship performer, Kargbo doesn't have great stats in seria b and I don't care about resale value it doesn't get reinvested.I want to make the playoffs this season For me and imo for Eustace then there wouldn't be a decision to make it would be Wallace all day long
  23. No way would Jed Wallace be cheaper It might be a similar fee if west brom wanted him away but Wallace will be on much more money. 100% I'd be signing Wallace if given the choice. Wallace won't be leaving now,Mowbray brought him back into the team and he was captain at the weekend
  24. Does Eustace actually want this player? Or is it a case of Gestede and Waggott going with this player as he will be cheap? I don't think this is the type of signing we should be making in this window, domestic players should be targeted. If this isn't a player Eustace has called for its likely this fella will be used from the bench with Eustace continuing with people he trusts Hedges etc
  25. I think 3 will be brought in ,and they will leave Hilton out of the 25 man squad It won't be the experience and recognised quality in this division that Eustace wanted but I do think we will bring 3 in especially if Kargbo has been chosen for left wing as he will be permanent leaving us 2 loan spots making up the 5 that can be part of the match day squad
