  1. January or not if the big 6 thought they could get a good deal on a player then they would have been in for him.If they where really rating Wharton and thought 18 million was a bargain they would not have cared it was January. I don't think Wharton was having a very good season ,moments of pure class and quality but in the main certainly December onwards our midfield was being over run and we were conceding a lot and losing I think we would have got a few million more if sold in the summer with other clubs joining the race it wouldnt have been big 6 in for him nor would we have received bids of £30 million like some people here believe
  2. But all the other clubs knew what he was available and none of the big clubs bit, if he was being rated externally as he should have been the big 6 would have been falling over themselves to sign him for that money . They could have done that deal they ain't weren't gonna come in in the summer and pay much more for him He also wasn't being involved at under 21 level yer man from Bournemouth had 2 senior caps and loads of big teams after him, if it wasn't for the release clause Bournemouth would have got more money for him
  3. What we think doesn't matter no club is paying £50 million for Wharton from a championship club. After 30 games in the prem he is worth more than £50 million. The lad Bournemouth have just sold looks excellent and had many big clubs in for him alongside Madrid.None of these clubs came in for Wharton when he was available for a pittance for a player of his quality
  4. It isn't an obsession over under 21 caps it's a valid argument. If he was being seen as the best young player/best young midfielder in the country/outside the premier league he would have been making those squads no question. I can't understand what you don't get here...the under 21s is supposedly for the best of that age group Wharton didn't make one squad so quite clearly he wasn't being rated externally as he should have been. January or not if he was as rated as he should have been then more than Palace would have been in for him at that price. What was stopping all the big clubs taking him?
  5. He has also been capped twice for his country and Is recognised as one of the best young defenders in the country with many top clubs registering an interest. Wharton had only played Championship and hadn't even recieved an under 21 cap.Wharton was never going to be recognised as one of the best young midfielders in the world playing for a championship side.
  6. Didn't gestede say in one of those podcasts that a right back would be a transfer Target this summer Said about wanting competition for Brittain, so if that's the case probably planning on loaning Duru out again
  7. He can't have been that much of a fan of Telalovic as he hardly ever started him . Clearly JDT wanted better
  8. Why gestede said in the podcasts when we sell a player the playing budget won't increase? Why would we want them selling anyone?
  9. Trafford will want the clean sheet and they will want the 100 points.
  10. Since promotion was secured some of the loans they had became permanent deals so it might be that?
  11. Unless they are selling Tonali but i do think they will have more funds this summer but I do agree don't see Wharton ending up at Newcastle
  12. Asante will probably come on and get the winner
  13. He said In the interviews the budget will be roughly same. He outlined the ClUBS plan.Develop and sell with it not making a difference to the playing budget.
  14. Pipe down you I will view my opinion if you don't like it then put me on ignore and stop replying to me. For them to lay the blame at Gestedes door and fool the fanbase in to believing he is the problem it would not only take them sacking him but then investing proper money into recruitment which isn't going to happen.
  15. None of those people you mentioned came out and said the CLUBS policy was to develop players and sell them with it having no impact on the playing budget. Gestede said in the interview when he took the job he was aware that no matter where we were in the table, no matter how many players sold for how many millions the budget for recruitment wouldn't be increased. Anyone with common sense will realise that Gestede is not dictating that policy
  16. I don't think they will be happy with what he said in those interviews. Like I said it's club decision to operate this way not a Rudy Gestede decision. Anyone with an ounce of common sense will realise ousting just Gestede from the club won't suddenly transform us into a club with a real ambition to progress or lead to a better playing budget.
  17. He hasn't taken the heat off the other 2 He has just publicly stated what the clubs model is.Gestede does not run the club, it isn't Gestedes model or policy it is the clubs policy. If anything it puts more pressure on the other 2 as Gestede has told everyone the clubs plan and ambition develop young players and sell them with it having no impact on the recruitment budget. That is the clubs plan/vision which Gestede is part of but he isn't the one who is dictating that model, he said it himself in the interview, he knew his budget and he knew the budget wouldn't get bigger no matter where we were in the table or how many millions we brought in through player sales
  18. We definitely want Preston to be losing today and still be in with a shout of going down after this weekends results with them playing Bristol City in their last game We don't want them already on the beach for that game
  19. He isn't taking the heat off the other 2 or the owners by saying what he has done It isn't Gestede who has decided that our purpose is to develop our academy players and sell them with no reinvestment back into the playing squad. I just don't know what world Gestede Is living in that he believes the fan base should be getting behind such a nonsense model and we should just be grateful that we have a team to put out on a Saturday afternoon or midweek evening He said it in black n White, promotion is a pipe dream that will rely on a lot of luck and the clubs model is to develop players to sell at a profit to reduce what the ownership have to put in year on year just to keep the lights on
  20. Gestede why the fuck can Massive revenue club Millwall sell a young asset to a Premier league club and reinvest a healthy portion back into their team Fair play Eddie for keeping your temper
  21. Unreal We want to develop our academy players and sell them with none of the money going back into the team We should be happy this ffs Gestede is an absolute clown
  22. Mowbray does well initially at most clubs(Inc here) he is at but then usually it goes pear shaped. I also don't fully buy it when he is described as Mr Nice guy. That goes out the window when he is faced with any criticism. He did it here many times "its not 94/95 anymore. He only criticised the ownership and questioned the running of the club when it became apparent he wasn't getting a new deal ,if he had been offered a new contract he would not have kicked up a fuss over the club refusing to sell Rothwell . He should have been sacked on the spot when he did an interview and openly admitted he encouraged Stuart Harvey to take the job on offer from massive club Sunderland who were in League One at the time.
  23. We were 2 nil down against Derby and they looked like scoring every time they came forward. He had to change something in that game and the performance improved when he did(granted not enough).
  24. Think he had the most assists in the league when he was here.He was an excellent loan
  25. Iv no confidence they will spend that amount but the summer we sold Armstrong we hardly spent anything then the following summer fees were spent on Brittain,Hyam and Szmodic for 5/6 million
