I'm still clinging to the hope we have someone decent lined up that might cost a bit and for whatever reason it hasn't fallen into place yet but I'm telling you im gonna be majorly pissed off if deadline day comes around and we throw in a couple of pathetic bids for decent players that we know won't get accepted to just to show they are trying. Competitive budget for what to at best finish 14th.

The mail are reporting that McKay from Forest is close to joining Swansea for 500 grand,he would have been a decent signing. Il be honest I bought into what Mowbray said about having a competitive budget now I'm thinking iv been a fool. The thing that annoys me most is we actually have a decent set of fixtures to start the season off but we are not giving any of the potential incomings a chance to bed in. I'm not buying when people bring up the crazy market as an excuse,Mowbray has been in the game a long time , enquiries would have been out before the trip to India we would have known the prices.

Have we been linked with Oliveria? He would be a good signing
-
Exactly this, people bang on about they don't want to see us making the same mistakes bringing in the likes of Best,Etuhu etc for big money and on big contracts and then in the same breath say they trust Mowbray. If they trust Mowbray then surely they would like to see him have some money to work with. I'm not saying we should be spending 5 or 10 million on players but spending 400k here and there on players will get us nowhere. If the club doesn't show any ambition then our better players like Dack will be agitating for a move away

The problem is to date we have brought in 2 perm signings, Davenport and Rothwell for a combined 750-800k factoring in we recieved 425k from the Mahoney tribunal thus far we have spent a paltry 325-375k. I want to see a little ambition, happy with the Palmer signing and would be ok with the Nmencha signing but only if the two perms brought in(if they happen)are good enough to improve our first 11. Rich Sharpe has been tweeting tonight that one of the perm signings will be a centre half, whoever comes in in that position will be a back up player. I will be dissapointed if we only bring 1 attacking player in on a permanent deal.Would you not be dissapointed with that?

Chaddy, nobody is saying they don't trust Mowbray. The market is what it is,the price of players has gone up we can complain about it all we want and to an extent I agree we shouldn't be going crazy but after the good season we had last year and a bit of a feel good factor returning to Ewood and the rise in season ticket prices then I expected the owners to back Mowbray a little better. To date we have spent about 800k on 2 young players which is nothing really.Like I said I wasn't expecting millions to be spent but I thought he might have been given the funds and the go ahead to bring in 3 or 4 around the 2 or 2.5 million mark. The owners always release statements telling us they are committed to getting the club back to the premier league if that's true then they need to be loosening the purse strings

When the Palmer deal first broke both in the telegraph and SSN said the paperwork would be completed on monday

I disagree.I thought Armstrong played well as part of a three behind a lone front man and if I was him I'd be working hard to make that a permanent position. I don't think he has the height or strength to play up front on his own and it's rare you see teams playing with two strikers these days. I agree he isn't an out and out winger but either side in a three I could see him developing into a very good player

Wharton is left footed, id presume that when Mulgrew is injured then Mowbray would put Williams in at centre half and Bell at lb. Wharton will benefit from playing every week, I know there is an argument that he should have been loaned to a league one side but imo I don't think there is a huge gap between league 1 and 2.It could be that Mowbray feels he needs work on the physical side of his game and coming up against big lumps every week will toughen him up. I don't believe for 1 second that we will be signing Greer. Has there actually been something concrete that he will be joining or is this on the back of him being at the festival?

Championship 2018-19

Wolves brought in Castro from Athletico Madrid on a season long loan I presume as first choice lb/wing back so I presume Douglas didn't want to be on bench. Cracking signing for Leeds and at 3 million a bargain in today's market -
Nixon and the sun reporting it is Nmecha who we are after on loan from city

Frig it

It's not tomorrow?I thought it was Sunday? I'm in Blackpool till Sunday and hotel already paid for but planned going game on Sunday?Or have I made a complete balls of it and the game tomorrow?
-
We lost the match but I remember us playing at white Hart lane that season when we were both in contention for the top 4, we went 2-0 down quickly but absolutely battered Spurs and brought it back to 2-2 only looked like one winner and then spurs got a break away goal and ended 3-2. I was still living in Ireland at the time and I always remember Robbie Keane interview on sky after when he said Rovers had been the best team they had played all season.
-
We have been told numerous times by the manager that he has been given a budget.I really don't think it is that
-
It's the weekend mate Palmer may have had plans. It's probably him getting organised with moving etc before travelling up north Sunday/Monday
-
As Neil said the other night the obvious one to.be worried about would be Lampard at Derby but with the signings they brought in there isn't really a place for him.And if Derby and Lampard wanted him it would have been confirmed already
-
A bit different to Roy Keane tho in fairness it's been no secret all summer that Palmer has been available to loan so I don't think rival teams will all of a sudden swoop in for Palmer on the back of Rovers reportedly agreeing a deal. I'm sure plenty of champ teams showed an interest but with both sky and the let running with the story I'm confident the deal is done
-
The market is crazy, but teams have shown that you can do well with a limited budget in the championship. If we are to do well we need to add a little pace and definitely another striker. It's obvious Mowbray doesn't fancy Samuel as a centre forward when playing just one up top, he played Dack as a false 9 v Liverpool and played him wide of the three behind Graham v Everton. Imo he had a good game the other night against Everton. But we need a striker as good if not better than Graham going into the season.Im a Danny Graham fan but I don't see him being fit all season
-
Paperwork should be completed Monday..according to sky sports news and the Let
-
Have they loaned him out?
-
Id have Bell over Williams too,he has pace we lack it throughout our side. Glad to see you are coming round about Nyambe
-
We have been told only 3 or 4 more in.I doubt we will sign Chapman now but hopefully down the line when his contract runs out we will be favourites to get him.
-
If following the rules put in place they should rightly have been fined 40 million. Not a lot of transfers get done in January anyway, they broke the rules their embargo should be immediate
-
City back on Sunday so maybe Palmer and the guy we are chasing from City will be announced together. I'm hoping for permanent signings but everything Mowbray has said lately suggests it will be loans. Be nice if we could get a marquee signing in a bit of cash spent on a striker
