  1. Yes, I think Tony can take personal credit for this evening’s game. Three cheers for Mowbray everyone! Hip hip...
  2. I’ve given him credit on several occasions. Just a shame he isn’t more consistent because then I would be. Conventional wisdom doesn’t always work though. To generate momentum in this division takes a close-knit group of players gelling by playing week in week out together. Mowbray’s approach is to do the opposite: to change the team on a regular basis which has lead to inconsistency. That isn’t my opinion, that’s what has happened. Conversely, in League One, our best players were for the most part the best players in the division. So he kept the squad fresh. We don’t have the best players in the Championship so we cannot keep tinkering.
  3. Clever though really. Probably a seed sewn on Twitter. If we do sign him we’ll have “beaten PL and Bundesliga teams to his signature”. It’s all about the perception of value you see. But... He’s 24 so still has his best years ahead of him. Problem is we don’t have the set up to develop goalkeepers and we have zero competition for the shirt. If we were serious about our ambitions we’d have a PL number two (disgruntled) or number three (just wanting to play, or highly rated, up-and-coming for experience) in on loan and Walton challenging for the jersey.
  4. It certainly has been this season. Still expect Liverpool to win at Anfield though.
  5. Absolutely brilliant. Best game at Ewood for ages. Delighted to beat the nobbers. Delerium at the end. It certainly meant something to the players.
  6. Not as a Number One. I’m assuming we are still talking about Walton.
  7. Same reason any modern player joins any club.
  8. Great goal. Made by the assist. Which sounds a bit obvious if you haven’t seen it. Nice acrobatic celebration too!
  9. Just kidding but it looks like he had some pedigree at one stage... from 2010... https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/other-sport/young-gent-the-next-big-thing-886677
  10. https://lmgtfy.com/?q=gent+blackburn+rovers
  11. Aye. Mowbray wasted all the money we had.
  12. Agent talk. Inflate the fee and wages. I’m warming to the idea of signing him as a number two.
  13. It’s a failure because we needed new faces and didn’t get any. We didn’t get them because nobody did their homework on targets. We know this because Mowbray was shocked at the numbers being talked. This good and defensive-injury-free run we are currently on has covered a multitude of sins.
  14. So me having an opinion is ‘twisting’ and you having an opinion is ‘balanced’. I’m glad we’ve got that straightened out. Sadly, this has become the problem with forums. There has always been an element of ad hominem posts but now it seems to have become the norm rather than the exception.
  15. It’s a simple question. You seem unable to answer it.. But whatever, you think Mowbray is that right man to take us forward, I don’t. That could change but on the evidence so far, that’s my view. Note, that isn’t the same as saying sack him now.
  16. “People”. One person. ”Demanding”. A glib ‘Mowbray Out’’. You really are dramatic.
  17. Likewise you are entitled to your view. The irony is that while you and others take pot shots, I hope and pray your confidence is proven to be well placed.
  18. I thought that was impossible when you don’t know what division you’ll be playing in. I’d be hugely surprised if Waggott has ours on sale before the end of the season.
  19. It’s simple stuff but some are only interested in gloating. If we had all of our players, would Mowbray have played a consistent XI? The answer, based on the evidence, is no. Personally I hope Mowbray is learning but just when you think he has, he lets you down again. We shall see. He has a great opportunity. Sadly, messageboards as a discussion forum are dying because newer folk struggle to cope with the art of debate. We can no longer just “chew the fat” as @Mattyblue put it recently. Facebook and the slagging off culture is in the ascendency. Some people would be far more at home on there - and probably already are.
  20. I just hope that these players keep their places when the others are fit. We have been at our best when we have picked a consistent side. With the run in, it’s the perfect time to challenge these players to keep their places and right to expect the returnees not only to be patient but support the teammates who have come in.
  21. You’ve ignored my point. Yes the record books will show goals (as the did with the hugely derided Jordan Rhodes) but while he was a stand out player in L1, he looks a long way of the standard of, say, Jack Grealish.
  22. I’ve had a good look and I can’t see a response to this very reasonable question. Some folk are determined to ignore the evidence in front of them and just slate other fans. They don’t even provide a counter opinion to the point being made, just glib ad hominem quips.
  23. Possibly a bit of that. A little like when Rooney was at the back end of his England career. Dack hasn’t really hit the heights I hoped he would in the Championship. He just seems to pop up in the right place and nick a goal. Shame we lost him for the season without seeing any cash - although it’s looking like a bit of a blessing.
  24. Not sure what a reasonable person would find objectionable about my post. I feel a bit sorry for him really. Yes, he will disagree with things, that’s what the board is all about, but you have to be a special kind of bitter and pathetic to screenshot posts for the amusement of about four mates on Twitter.
