  1. Exactly. And when this repetitive failure doesn’t work they blame the fans and talk about how committed Richie Smallwood or Corey Evans are - these fellas who get paid handsomely as reward for their ‘commitment’. We’ve been through two relegations and prices still went up. All about short term cash, despite Venkys bankrolling the club. Blame FFP and at the same time chuck £12m at two of the same player. High prices and empty seats. So much contradiction.
  2. Is he signed up to the wrong agent?
  3. I was never one of Bowyer’s biggest fans but I think his recruitment was sufficiently successful to not be class as the worst. He just had no clue what to do with them (a bit like the set up now). It’s all relative but Allardyce made some shocking signings. A Premier League Herold Goulon anyone? But at least he had some kind of plan of how to use them. However, the crown of “manager to bring in the biggest stinkers” has to go to that absolute ? ? ? ? who delighted the Burnley fans (and Wigan fans) so much when he threw away our hard fought PL status in pursuit of his own finances - just because he could.
  4. £20m is nonsense but it’s the premium that playing for having a contract with a PL club adds. A while back, it was predicted that Bosman would eventually see an end to transfer fees but it seems to have gone the other way. Short-term thinking, with exorbitant fees being the cost of trying to defy gravity in the Icarusesque upward spiral of the ironically named “top flight”. It’s a hell of a bump when you fall. Just ask Bolton, Sunderland, Portsmouth.
  5. Good to see you get some things right!
  6. It’s not shortsightedness though, Matty. It’s sheer bloody-mindedness. It’s simply designed to make the four game deal look like good value. Everything he does is all about the money. And it’s counterproductive because he still doesn’t understand Blackburn people. They won’t be forced into pretending something is value if they don’t have the money. Blackburn is one of the most deprived towns in the country yet this bloke cracks on as though it isn’t. Contemptible. Meanwhile we have thousands upon thousands of empty seats when we should be pushing the team over the line. Leeds fans are grumbling but it will be like a home game in their promotion run in. Can they even get promoted at Ewood? We’ve been there before.
  7. https://www.rovers.co.uk/tickets/season-ticket-terms-conditions/ “NO REFUNDS can be given under any circumstances for individual matches that the Season Ticket holder cannot attend.” I wonder how Mr Waggott will interpret that one...?
  8. It was crackers last night when they abandoned the fair play handshake. Having lined up, both set of players ran off to have the old circle-hug-huddle and the all put their hands in the centre to “bully off” or whatever you’d call it. After ever goal there were high fives. It’s all a bit of a nonsense. Now we hate idiots emptying supermarket shelves of loo roll. The media have a lot to answer for. Roll on the warmer weather!
  9. Huge, huge result. Please, please don’t blow it (again) Mowbray. This is the chance to break into the top 6 for the first time. In a division where anyone can beat anyone, I want no excuses about how good Derby are. They should be fearing us!
  10. QPR 3 - this could be a HUGE lifeline!
  11. Brentford and Preston both winning. If we don’t win tomorrow that’s this season written off.
  12. Development football is not the same as first team, Mike. Winning matches, titles, trophies is great but it isn’t what it is about. If he’s out of contract in the Summer then fine, it’s a punt.
  13. It is absolutely not ours to lose I’m afraid. It’s a ten game season and we are just below midtable in a seven team division and need to finish in the top two. We are three points behind. We need other teams to do us favours.
  14. I think we’ve blown it with these draws while everyone else slipped up. You don’t get unlimited chances.
  15. 4-1 flattered Arsenal. Fantastic performance tonight from the young lads. Really enjoyed it. Semi finals!
  16. Hope we do Ian. He looks a real prospect.
  17. 3. This is boys against... smaller boys.
  18. The lad is dynamite but why are we developing someone else’s player, and blocking the path for one of our own? https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/man-city-transfers-wright-phillips-17672439
  19. I’ve no idea but you can’t credit Waggott with getting rid of something that he should never have brought in in the first place.
  20. I’m a Rovers fan and I want to see Ewood as full as possible. What works for other clubs doesn’t necessarily work for us. As evidenced by the evidence. So no.
  21. It’s just so cynical. Yet with away fans seating in an area without home fan equivalence we could make money from visitors but still try to get home fans in. What we are setting now really couldn’t be classed as trying.
  22. £17.25 per game is NOT a “bargain”. However, Waggott‘s walk on price hikes make it look like it is. He would be delighted if it weren’t for the fact that the people who think they are such a good offer already have season tickets. Unfortunately these deals don’t work.
