  1. It’s great that things have improved but one does wonder how much Mowbray’s tinkering has cost us this season. Hopefully we can get into those play-offs at the end of the season and it won’t matter. We can both look back and say that Mowbray was right and we were wrong. However I can’t help but think that with more players fit we’d have been chopping and changing and much less consistent.
  2. 50 points and... Time to go for it! If we can finish ahead of the Nobbers we’ll probably be in the Play-offs.
  3. So we have to wait until YOU decide when that is? That’s interesting. Meanwhile others, who you deride, have ALREADY seen enough to know that Mowbray is a prone to runs of games - good and bad - which maintain a midtable position for a club that needs promotion - despite him having had the budget to aim higher. Even now, we are doing well because our team picks itself. There aren’t enough options for Mowbray to start tinkering just to keep players happy. Wait until we have a few back and the rotation policy begins again. Being “worried at what we might get next” is exactly why we ended up with Bowyer for too long which took us on a downward trajectory ultimately ending in relegation. A bloke who couldn’t find a place in the team for Josh King ahead of Jason Lowe. This is exactly where we are again under Mowbray. He couldn’t find a place for Rothwell but persevered with Bennett for so long. We’ve heard this doom-mongering about “who we might get” before. It should NOT be an excuse to accommodate mediocrity. Yet it is.
  4. Championship officials really are hopeless. Livermore should have been sent off there for a dangerous high tackle on a knee. Not even booked and had the temerity to shout at the player prostrate on the ground. Going to get nasty this one.
  5. Football agents are a curse. A better PFA wouldn’t have seen the need for these parasites to get involved in the first place. They are not protecting their clients interests, they protect their own. What we have now is de facto third party ownership that cannot be controlled let alone eliminated. The Walker Trust / Rothschild picked the worst of the worst and our our ‘natural position’, midtable top flight team, was gone, while millions and millions of pounds went out of the club and out of football.
  6. I must have been wearing a thicker coat! The car said 7.5 degrees so a lot warmer than Tuesday. It was weird seeing Charlie out there tonight.
  7. Really enjoyed that tonight. End to end with a couple of goals each. Rovers should probably have won, on the balance of chances, but I was happy to get a point in the end. Great strike from Paten which seemed to arrow into the top corner, rather than the slightly swinging one by Arma. Looked a soft pen after the ref cocked up and didn’t give a corner from a Mulgrew free kick. Not too cold tonight either!
  8. Ben Paton has just scored a better goal than Armstrong’s on Tuesday. ? ?
  9. Yes, I’d have an opinion- like the sacked-at-any-other-club 13 game run last season. Sadly, 13 game relegation form can completely undermine the 32 games you are pontificating about. All that matters is where we end up in May. Mowbray has finished poorly in the Championship twice.
  10. Why unnecessary? Any group of games can be picked and compared. The only “run of games” stat that matters is the table in May.
  11. Amazingly random stat. Do we just ignore the other 14 games?
  12. You’ve singled out one positive and genuine statement in an otherwise balanced post straight after the game just to be a dick about it. Please stop.
  13. Having a pop at fans when they are being positive, just to try to score points. You started off quite a good poster at one point. Now you’ve become ‘that guy’.
  14. The fans were singing his name for good spells during his time on the pitch last night. Everyone wants this to work out.
  15. Voted no but I fully expect Mowbray to sign Walton and replace Leutwiler.
  16. And I was proud of us last night. Folk like you are part of the problem.
  17. I honestly thought Bennett was abysmal. Regularly gave the ball away, very wasteful - have to blame Mowbray though for playing him as an attacker. However, the reason he is a Mowbray man is summed up in the contrast between his reaction to being subbed and Graham’s. The latter was clearly very unhappy to go off (or at the lack of chances he got) and stomped straight down the tunnel, while Bennett sprinted over to Lenihan with the armband and then sprinted off the pitch. Don't get me wrong he is the consummate professional and I’ve no doubt he is a good role model but this fixation with playing him in every position on the pitch, despite not being adequate, is almost a metaphor for our lack of ambition. Utility over expertise. Moving Bennett to the left shows Mowbray is certainly going out of his way to not play Chapman. I just hope the penny has dropped regarding playing Brereton (or Gallagher) in the middle, not our wide.
  18. Oh, and I’ve not seen any replays but that looked a blatant penalty on Brereton.
  19. Well well. That was a much better experience! In fairness, until that first goal it was pretty dull and looked like heading towards a similar end to Saturday (although Hull were poor) and then a bit of a scramble, a worldie and opportunist goal we are sitting pretty. Decent subs today - although Graham looked furious - and after a slow start, Brereton showed that there is something in there that could be fashioned into a footballer. Made the third goal for Samuel out of nothing and looked so much more comfortable in the middle with a bit of freedom to drop in and wide. Small steps but finally steps in the right direction. A great last 20 minutes on a bitterly cold night, with about 7,500 on (posted as 11,100-odd). Just need the nobbers to slip up now. A bit of pride back. COYB!
  20. Keep smiling fella.
  21. Bloody hell mate. You’ve really taken this to heart to spend three days thinking of a reply.
  22. Rankin-Costello injured now and will miss the Hull game! Something is very wrong to have all of these injuries. I’m convinced it’s a lack of fitness. Even watching the players on the pitch at half time, they just doss about, having a laugh and a joke. In Brezza’s case, he needs to stand a bit closer to his team mate when passing the ball. His lack of accuracy is badly exposed when he tries pinging it across the pitch.
  23. I think @Amo has completely given up by this point with how many times it has been used recently. Languid?
  24. He’d have kept us up. They’d have been frightened to death.
