  1. These injuries are the best possible outcome for Tony. Expectations eliminated with him blameless. He’s also managed to blame FFP despite causing FFP to be an issue.
  2. Adults apparently. You do have a pop at supporters an awful lot though.
  3. “The moaners” would point to examples like the following: - “Defenders are coming” - “We can’t expect to buy a whole new defence” - “Buying a keeper and defenders is a priority in the Summer” But this contradiction seems to be conveniently forgotten in favour of supporter bashing.
  4. You know we have polar opposite views on this Matty - and will likely never agree (although I do respect your opinion). However, if you want more away fans so we have more to “bounce off” then we need more home fans - or we will simply get bounced. Until then, keep them out of the way as much as possible.
  5. Evidence is around you every week in football. The reaction of opposition fans has meant penalties, red cards, certainly yellow cards. How many fans get on their feet and wave the imaginary card at the ref? If you don’t believe that to be true then I say you are very naive. If the rest of Ewood were full then we could easily outnumber them and hopefully shout them down but a compact away crowd right at pitchside does more harm than good. If it isn’t true then there is no reason to put Rovers fans behind the away goal. Something I would be more supportive of than away fans but I still believe that it simply splits the BBE singers up and we all lose. We need a fuller ground. That means imagination about how we bring in more home fans, not helping away fans.
  6. Finally something Mowbray and I agree on. Why on earth would you lobby to make it easier for away fans to put pressure on the officials? Losing games does nothing for the atmosphere.
  7. I do know that we didn’t sign anyone. Considering we needed to, that means it was a failure. These are experienced football people who didn’t do their homework, didn’t act early enough and we’re subsequently “shocked” by events. Meanwhile every other team managed to sign players. Not good enough and rightly criticised.
  8. I know right. If only we had people at the club who knew how the transfer windows worked. By 2025/26 we might just have everything in place to challenge for promotion. Just hope it isn’t from L2 (or worse!).
  9. RIP The Riverside Rumble. Died 07/05/2012.
  10. Just going off my own ears Matty.
  11. Prepare for the ground to become quieter again though. Although every song has to mention Burnley for some reason, there has at least been an improvement in the atmosphere.
  12. He certainly called Mo Salah! Frightening that the stench of SEM continues to linger but I expect their tentacles are wide reaching in football.
  13. He probably needs to have a rethink. Hart is no Tony Parks.
  14. Thanks @Miller11 - a great and insightful summary. Polar opposite of your mate. Have to say though, the first half of your post really annoyed me. Mowbray and Waggott getting upset because they have been called out in a couple of things?!? ”Defenders are coming” has turned into “We can’t buy a whole new defence”. Then goes on to say a keeper and defenders are a priority in the Summer! Talk about doublespeak!! You’ve finished off by saying the two of them are likeable and honest. From your notes I think the opposite: dislikeable and say what people want to hear then move on - but maybe you had to be there to get the context. Disgusted that Waggott felt “absolutely honouring Jack’s legacy” meant asking fans to volunteer to clean up his grave - and then having a pop when his offer wasn’t gratefully accepted. Is this what he think this respect means to fans? And is blaming fans really his only response? So disappointing. Jack’s legacy was on the pitch and the stadium - and both are in dire need of update just to be Championship-adequate, let alone PL-standard. Venkys are wanting to put up season ticket prices and Steve “Waggott Tax” Waggott is going into bat on behalf of the fans? That really doesn’t stack up. “If Tony comes and tells me he’s had enough” is the only way we are getting a new manager. What a way to run a football club! No continuity planning, no pressure, no ambition. Just a very very comfortable closed-shop senior management team. The only alternatives are the fans getting onto Mowbray’s back - or a strong campaign aimed at putting this whole charade on Pascha’s shoulders.
  15. There just isn’t the trust in the people running the club that they have it’s best interests at heart. As you’ve said, FFP excludes the academy spend so any thoughts that the money being pumped into that (which is what Mowbray suggested when he first arrived) would be a non-starter. We are now relying on products from that academy system for the first team so surely that was money well spent. I want to believe that Waggott is simply a businessman and playing politician, covering his bases in case something changes in future. It makes sense that the debt continues to rise and Venkys have to keep putting money in then they will cut something. What doesn’t make sense is that the only (positive) way out of this is promotion and yet we are making no concerted efforts to do anything about that. Aside from shrug, blame the lack of fanbase and say “there’s nothing we can do”. It’s always someone else’s fault. Where are the innovative ideas, where is the long-term planning to increase attendances, what are the loopholes in FFP that can be exploited? For all Venkys’ supposed benevolence it seems to all be loans rather than capital and keeping things running like a paupers house. Yet the rhetoric is/was that Venkys are being told to hold off spending. Why defend them and blame fans?
  16. He seemed to suggest naming each of the training pitches after former players. That’s basically a label on a piece of A4 paper on a Brockhall notice board. Surely he isn’t that crass? Tony Parkes is not just a “former player“. He is bigger than that, he is one of very very few “Mr Blackburn Rovers“. As we will all see on Saturday...
  17. Just a bit confused is all. I thought that the five places were for BRFCS representatives. Surely he didn’t have an “agenda” and that’s why he went “representing himself” under the pretence of representing the site?
  18. Less with the insults you. You've really gone downhill since you stopped being a wannabe ITK.
  19. Naming a training pitch after him?? Insulting.
  20. You didn’t “go for yourself”, you represented BRFCS. @J*B please don’t let this guy go again.
  21. Not much point otherwise. Sounds like it went the same was as all the previous ones though. Platitudes.
  22. We can never have the kind of players you need to get promoted because Mowbray can’t integrate higher earners into the team. Great stuff. What exactly is our plan to get out of this cycle of failure and rising debt...?
  23. Nein to Weiss What a way to make a living...
