Well that’s pretty definitive! But to be honest I think I’m missing what the debate is here. Which fans abuse Brereton... - All fans? - Most fans? - A majority of fans? - Half of the fans? - A large proportion of fans? - A small proportion of fans? - Some fans? - a handful of idiots? - a couple of numpties? - Some bloke my mate heard? - Nobody really but if we can paint him as a victim then he’ll get more time/sympathy? The fact is that we have an overpriced player who is well out of form and the fans are quite rightly sceptical rather than blindly clapping and cheering his every touch. Why we need to try to blame the fans for this one I don’t know.

Sorry to pick out a snippet from a long, passionate post but this bit was the reply to me. I’m not sure what you expect people to do to “get behind Brereton”. His poor form has gone on too long for people to be cheering him on for trying and “unlucky claps”. He genuinely looks a poor players. Plus there are times when he doesn’t even look like he is trying his hardest to get near the ball but rather ambling over strategically. Nuttall used to get similar criticism but he has upped his game - and got two goals on the back of that busting-a-gut-to-get-in-the-right-position mentality. But what I don’t quite understand is why the fans are getting stick for Brereton not being lauded, yet Mowbray gets a free pass despite signing him, sanctioning such a value being paid, giving him so little game time to show his capabilities, and now dropping him to the status of unused sub. It’s not fans who are destroying Ben’s confidence but Mowbray himself. The lad must regret signing for us at this moment in time. We won’t even play him in the U23s! He’s caught in Catch-22 territory and is now relying on (bad) luck (for a teammate) to get back in the team. So unfortunate is young Brezza that he’ll probably finally get the nod for Monday’s reserve match only for it to be called off due to a frozen pitch! If/when he gets a goal fans will be delighted. He is looking less and less likely to get one though.

You are being very harsh on yourself there. Think about what the club has been like for this last few years. Current mods have it easy now in comparison! Fwiw, I completely stopped even looking in ICBINF a long time ago - I’ve not missed it one bit. A very easy place for anyone to make enemies.

There’s 10,000 Rovers fans at Ewood. Of course you will get the odd numpty. Statistically 99.99% of fans get behind the players on a match day.

Most players are applauded off?

The swear filter (for the most part) was turned off ages ago. Tbf it hasn’t brought down the tone. Although curiously you can’t say I have been stopped from posting this by moderators.. (Coyle’s first name!)

Seriously? People reporting stuff on this thread. Unless mods have been hiding some nasty stuff that’s a bit gratuitous. January’s over anyway. Rovers failed at it. Thread needs locking.

Rovers ban Briggsyboy videos
Stuart replied to AllRoverAsia's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
What a way to build relations with fans and the community in general. “Should we get them in for a chat and to give them some advice, guidance and a bit of encouragement? Maybe there’s an opportunity to get them to be ambassadors for the club?” ”No, just get one of the hired help to serve her with a cease-and-desist notice” -
Hope you explained to her what spoonerisms actually are!

When you have money to spend during the window but decide not to because you believe you have the right squad / set-up then you need that squad to deliver, otherwise brings pressure. It’ll be even worse if we lose Graham or another defender to injury for any length of time. All of a sudden we are back to looking make shift. If we had no money, if we hadn’t spent big on one player, then it would be a completely different proposition. It always bemuses me that there are those who question the manager and then those who question the motives of fans who question the manager. Just stick with making good arguments about what Mowbray is doing well and it makes for better discussion.

Someone told me earlier that the second series was being filmed but hadn’t been picked up by a network yet. Probably all depends on promotion. Although I really enjoyed the first one - and I expect true football supporters “get it”, Netflix will be wanting a feelgood ‘ending’ for the masses. Someone needs to tip them off that there is no ‘ending’ in football and if there was it’d be pretty disastrous for all concerned!

It’s amazing the difference in the messageboard between the last couple of weeks compared to the previous month.

Trying to decide if he looks better sans ears.

Somebody get that mic drop picture that S8 posted the other day...! ?? . . . . . . . . ?

Just an observation Chaddy. You posted after that LT article went up. I doubt I’ve ever got to a Rovers article before you. Start posting your own opinions instead of searching for the “right answer” (i.e. the incumbent manager opinion) and we’ll have proper debates.

https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17401247.rovers-owners-were-prepared-to-spend-in-january-says-boss/ I love that you posted less than 10 minutes after the LT finally publishd Mowbray’s comments. Keep up the good work, Chaddy. Maybe one day you’ll have opinions of your own that we can debate.

That’s a BRFCS T-Shirt slogan right there! @perthblue02

I bet Bumley fans are gutted to swap fan-favourite Stokes for octogenarian, Crouch.
-
No rush to get back to me, Chaddy. You can wait to see what Mowbray thinks before making up your mind. I wonder if he’ll be “disappointed”? Yes I think he will!
-
Really can’t see that but maybe we could bridge any salary gap with a share of any future transfer fee. His very own sell-on clause.
-
We did make 4 January signings. None of whom will contribute this season. Mowbray also told us “there is money available” now it isn’t enough. I wonder if we hadn’t spent £7m on Brereton would we have had the money to buy Assombalonga, for example? Do you have a view on this? Also do you think this was a good window for a team going for the play-offs?
