  1. Second yellow card (for simulation) rescinded. Didn’t even know yellows could be rescinded! https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/sport/amp/football/46973412 Playing in the Dack role.
  2. Our youngster Brad Lyons is starting today for St Mirren at home against Hibs. Lining up with a certain Simeon Jackson. It’s the lunchtime game on Sky Sports. Keep your eye on number 14.
  3. It’s funny you say this. Yesterday before the game I was thinking the opposite - that he looks like a loner surrounded by a team. Right now he is in the shop window and needs a club at the end of the season. Two key moments before we can say Mowbray has tamed him. What happens when Mulgrew is fit? Where does he go at the end of the season? What Mowbray does seem to excel at is the environment and culture he encourages. He’s said in the past that he lets the senior players have a big say in things, which will help with that. He places great importance on the character of players that he brings in. Maybe this is part of why he buys British. It’s also more likely to keep the ‘group’ as an 18 or 20 rather than three or four smaller cliques. But I does mean that we will miss out on some great opportunities to bring in quality at the right price for our budget. Quiz question: Mowbray has bought almost exclusively English, plus a Scot (Caddis) and a Northern Irish (Lyons). He has only brought in two none UK players, name them and their nationality - without google...
  4. I think we had enough folks impersonating footballers on their watch! We even had people impersonating managers, board members and owners!
  5. https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2017/apr/26/the-forgotten-story-of-carlos-kaiser-footballs-greatest-conman Amazing story
  6. The spelling on there makes this place seem like Queen’s College, Oxford.
  7. Either lack of game time is a concern or he’s playing mind games with Boro over the price.
  8. Mowbray was saying Chapman wouldn’t challenge our current first team and is more likely to go out on loan - assuming we sign him.
  9. The board has been extremely amicable and getting back to the old days in recent weeks. Disagreements, banter but nothing personal, and it has been noted by others. The challenge now is to keep it that way.
  10. That game was lost went the teams were announced, Phil.
  11. We shouldn’t limit our scouting to only picking up young British/Irish players. There is a big world out there - even post Brexit and we don’t even appear to be trying. Side note: wonder if when we eventually loan out or cut our losses on Brereton will that be our very own Brexit? Or maybe a Brerexit!
  12. We were already promoted. The club made a big deal of that Charlton game - even opening up the big screen and concourse. The Mowbray picked a team to surrender. There is no defence of what he did so please don’t try to dismiss it.
  13. Can I explain? We only seem to get linked with players that we have previously had on loan. It hardly takes any work from scouts. Why should we not be looking at some foreign players? Frankly your comment has a nasty undertone. What is wrong with foreign players? They can be extremely good value and better than players who cost a premium like Brereton. ”My current problem”. That didn’t take long, did it Chris?
  14. Well done Millwall. Not having a ball to arm at that speed as handball. Glad they nicked it.
  15. The BBC commentators are so biased towards the PL team. Trying to convince everyone that a ball pinged off a Millwall player’s straight upper arm was a hand ball. Meanwhile a late ankle breaker was ‘just a bit late’.
  16. Our scouts seriously need letting go. Do we even have any?
  17. The weather in this Millwall-Everton game is biblical. There’s an ark being built out of seats in the Cold Blow Lane end!
  18. Good point somebody made on Fb... Would Travis be playing if Smallwood hadn’t been suspended? Would Rodwell be playing if Mulgrew hadn’t been injured/ill?
  19. He must really see a big future for both Chapman and Brereton. And indeed he must have some real assurance that he is going to be at Rovers for a long time to come. To bring in players and not play them because they are future prospects is not a luxury that most managers have.
  20. Don’t know about that. It would be good to see Bristol City’s wheels come off right when we are due to play them.
  21. Maybe Mowbray himself has finally clocked it... Not playing Smallwood and Evans has contributed as much to our form as the players we have brought in to implement a more attacking set-up. Rovers always look better when we put teams on the back foot. It’s also what gets the fans going down at Ewood, which contributes to that 12th man mentality. Especially when it comes to giving the ref some stick.
