  1. Not a huge fan of 4-3-3 but Mowbray’s lack of balance probably makes that the best option. So, as you’ve twisted my arm, to include Brezza, I’ll go...
  2. The lad needs a run of games as a centre forward and this tactic of playing strikers as wide men needs to be abandoned.
  3. I’d prefer a defender to take the pressure off that huge gap next to Lenihan.
  4. Just what we need, another midfielder!
  5. The most depressing point about this comment is that, in the Championship, successful teams don’t necessarily have the best players but the best manager. A poor manager churns through players and makes good ones worse. At Rovers, ‘nice men’ get to have several attempts.
  6. Reading that Stanley press release the early stages of this are going to be a shambles. Some clubs - not sure about Rovers - will sell more STs than they will be allowed to admit into the ground. What happens to ST holder number 771 or 1536? Paid the same but can’t watch and no iFollow?
  7. I watched a lot of Nuttall so I feel like I’m entitled to my opinion. He served his time in the U23s but never got a proper chance after being dropped from the first team when in form, simply because Samuel was back. We all know Mowbray has favourites. More than likely he spat his dummy out and that would have been that for Mowbray. I suspect a similar situation with Chapman. Let’s just hope that Dolan isn’t marginalised and has his attacking game curtailed. The only way young players get into our team is through work ethic, any flair or attacking bias is seen as a weakness.
  8. Perfect timing... this is from today on Fb!!
  9. Really interesting that @philipl thanks. At times it seemed a little tinfoil hat territory but it certainly does make one think back to that period between 2011 and 2013...
  10. Don’t disagree. Mowbray has signed Leutwiler and Walton and let Raya go so he could really do for this one to be a good acquisition. Hopefully he does well. I suspect that as he is number one, our number two will be Fisher. I’d actually be much happier if we scouted a new gk coach.
  11. No way is the Belgian league a higher standard than the Championship.
  12. Championship experience Chaddy. In your thirst to be clever, you miss the obvious. Got your refund yet?
  13. I’m sorry you don’t understand.
  14. Think we can forget about any experienced keeper joining now. Still, he seems (from his YouTube videos) like he has something about him but I guess Walton could produce a similar video. Welcome to the club.
  15. Another post that sums up modern football - or maybe just Rovers change in fortunes. Past it at 27 m, and resale considered before their contribution on the pitch.
  16. 5000 Bolton ST holders 0 Rovers ST holders We didn’t have to lose all gate receipts.
  17. You talk with a lot of certainty about things, and clearly a Mowbray fan. Do you work for the club? Chapman was a Mowbray pick. Loaned him in and tried to sign him on deadline day then failed and still went back in for him later - when we didn’t really need him. He has dug him out ever since. There are certain players who can do no right and get no credit from Mowbray (Nuttall and Tomlinson being two others). He brings them into the first team and drops them like stones if they make mistakes - even if they are in goal scoring form (like Nuttall was before he was dropped for Samuel). The player’s attitude changes when they realise nothing they do will be good enough for him. Then fans blame them! Mahoney left because of Coyle but he would have been treated similarly. Always young players. Meanwhile older players who don’t perform get a free pass - Bennett, Mulgrew (for a good while). Dolan is going to have to be a worldie every game to get his chance. That’s if he can learn to ‘play the Mowbray way’. Not looking forward to Dolan having the excitement beaten out of him (as has happened with Travis). And all because we don’t buy quality defenders! Much easier to blame young players for not tracking back.
  18. The comments below that tweet are like something from a parallel universe. Even without the power of hindsight.
  19. £5.99 for a match? Pass. The pricing strategy is all wrong. They should be getting people to sign up for the platform not cashing in. Is this Blackpool’s in-house media team? And the marketing: “Match graphics” wow - you won’t have to remember the score! “four cameras” no way! “Commentary” talking pictures! “Replays” wave to the future (or the past)!
  20. I’d argue that the obscene wages paid to very average players is against the spirit of the game.
  21. Why would he turn down the cash, especially at his age? The PL and FA are to blame I’m afraid. This practice should be outlawed.
  22. It’s almost like we are starting again.
  23. It is when you consider our alternatives. We simply CANNOT sell Armstrong.
  24. Nobody is going to celebrate at 1-0 down. The second half was far better than the first. Question marks linger over Brereton and Holtby and Travis were quiet. Armstrong is turning into a game maker.
