  1. If I was taking this summer as a one off I'd agree but there does seem to be a trend following each window of frustration
  2. or get the player to back his own talent by increasing pay for targets acheived
  3. Course it has. If the league one player has never played above that level then it is a gamble. I know any signing is a gamble but risking your whole budget on a player never to have played at your level is just too high a gamble especially when we need to cover over positions as well. For those quoting Dack, Dack was signed to play at the level he had excelled not at the level above.
  4. But it isn't is it? Paying £250,000 for a player is not as much of a gamble as paying £2,000,000. If we have a set budget then blowing the lot on one player from a League 1 is a massive gamble especially with the number of players we have in midfield.
  5. Agree totally and with the wages he is on at Rovers, it is killing any chance on a Championship team taking a gamble. If the wages were lower and no fee involved then I could see a club taking a punt.
  6. The only way Id touch Cunningham is he was available on a free on a maximum of a twelve month contract. Never the quickest and not going to be any faster after such a serious injury
  7. With Mulgrew's twitter post about loyalty the other week maybe we are seeking a fee or just refusing to pay him up. Also think Rovers must have still supplementing his wage if he was going to Fleetwood. He has no pace either which would mean a gamble for a championship club to pay the wages he is on at Rovers.
  8. Suspect wages are the issue. Enough to scare off everyone unless we pay a huge slice of wages
  9. The return of Nyambe the Scape Goat. I said during pre-season he was the scape goat as was Raya. He was in trouble as soon as he set a goal up last weekend. Full backs doing that is not the Mowbray way,
  10. Too late in the day to get a scarf from the club shop or the person who prints the name on the back of the shirt gone home for the weekend
  11. You are wrong. Nyambe was criticised and dropped regularly in favour of Bennett. It is why I suspect he'll run his contract down and walk.
  12. Paul McKinnon.......with a worse scoring record than Chris Brown. I think from record that his record was -1 as his only goal in blue n white was an own goal for the reserves.
  13. What he needs is people in the box!
  14. Ive seen on Twitter this morning that Smallwood in advance talks with Pompey. Dont know how true it is.
  15. Etheridge would be a shrewd purchase but I suspect there are 3 million reasons why this tweet ain't true.......unless the first tweet is also true. [the rumour earlier in the week about a bid on the table of 10 mill possbily leads that the first one could be true] James Chester I can take it or leave it if true
  16. Before he left in very poor circumstances, many on here used to sing his praises and even love his dad's tweets. Until the end, he was a lot better player than is stated here. If all are fit which would get in the Eire side......Duffy, Lenihan or Williams. I suspect we all know the answer but because he left us in very terrible circumstances many will not admit it. Dann was poor here though.
  17. Question Would you really have the likes of CB we've got ahead of Dann and Duffy? Now if you are talking wastes of space.
  18. Brereton needs a target man alongside him but I agree there is no way he can be considered one. Sam Gallagher at the moment, also hasn't the ability to play the position but has the physical attributes to become one. He reminds a little of Kevin Davies before Big Sam got hold of him. If only....
  19. The lad has played in the premiership for several years now so has some ability and no way is a complete waste of space. His attitude stinks though.
  20. Some people should work on their sense of humour, smile and admit their mistakes. What I can't make my mind up is if I mean Richard Oakley, Tony Mowbray [on paying big money for two underwhelming forwards] or both.
  21. Very narrow though, need two very good overlapping fullbacks for that to work. Id also have Dack for Brereton personally, with Holtby in the Downing role.
  22. all on loan, where is his long term project as all three have now departed?
  23. To be fair he didn't say when so this maybe true.
  24. Thanks, I was beginning to doubt what I heard.
