  1. Lets see if Tony has learnt anything. Dont give Gally all the space and allow him to play. Thats theirs not ours.
  2. Nobody saying its difficult. All I was saying was your last line whilst trying to bring it back to Mowbray. End of!!!
  3. Its an international break, nothing to talk about so lets create something. Does calling us Rovers or Blackburn really matter. No. Nob enders do have a habit of this before their 'Big' game but it is still irrelevant. The City or Utd is also not relevant because the media tend to call them City or Utd whilst they tend to call us at best Blackburn Rovers but usually Blackburn. When I was younger there was an old man who used to get very angry about this saying 'We are Rovers' not Blackburn. It does tend to wind the oldr generation up. Oddly as they are the only nob enders you'd think it would wind them up more when they are called Preston. Anyway why this has broken out on the Tony Mowbray discussion is odd because by the time we play them he may not be in charge by then
  4. Hughes has done nothing since Bellamy and Savage have retired.......His time has passed but from same era as Mowbray. Both should be put to grass. It was funny yesterday but Alan Brazil was pushing for Moyes' return at Everton and he is another. Hughes did a great job at Bla.....sorry Rovers [only jokin] but I would not want to return to marr a great previous time. The time has come for Damien Johnson....at least until the end of the season
  5. Disagree slightly in the fact he does go looking for the ball. I think sometimes I think he thinks taht he has to do everything so drops way too deep. On Tuesday night he dropped so deep at one stage he received a one yard pass off Williams. Our opponents love this because he can't hurt them so deep.
  6. To pass forward we need the forward players to move but too many players are too static. To have a successful passing game the players have to pass and move not pass and stand still. No one wants a return pass. No forward makes a forward run because when they do they never get the ball in front of them.
  7. Youre wrong about no player coming out with any credit. By not playing yesterday Lewis Travis showed why he is essential to the team!
  8. Yes I saw that season and wasn't overly impressed then. I don't get he wants the ball to feet and run onto. That would imply he has great pace or great skill to dribble the lad has neither. You say the possession is an improvement and I agree but tactically we must be getting something wrong. You say he wins flick ons but no one is near him then it needs Mowbray to coach this so that other players are feeding off it. Otherwise it's still lost possession in the end. The fact that you say he has had 4 proper chances this season is done to two things. One, as others as said, is we don't create enough chances. I'll say this not seriously but to make a point as it wasn't true, its just as well Andy Cole does not play for Rovers as he wouldn't score as he needed 5 chances to score according to Glenn Hoddle. Forwards aren't going to take every chance but the more we create the more likely we are to score. Secondly and this maybe a confidence thing is that he hides in the box. In that I mean when the ball comes in he usually has allowed a defender to get in front of him or when a shooting opportunity comes his way he looks to lay it off. Forwards need to be greedy, they have to belief in themselves to score everytime. I just dont see that in Gally.
  9. Sorry but there is nothing there to suggest that Gally will come good. How many times do we hear Rovers fans like a player for putting in a shift. Might as well go down Pleasy and pick a player as I'm sure they would put a shift in as well. We need players with some ability with the ball not those who run around a lot.
  10. So what are these strengths? I'm genuinely want to know because I can't see anything that warrents his inclusion in the team. Played out wide he wins headers and flicks to noone in particular, provides cover for Bennett and err thats about it. When he plays down the middle he has the ability to vanish and hide. Against Luton he created himself a chance and choose not to shoot. Last night his only telling contribution was to win a tackle in the right back position. If he wants to play down the middle he has to show and not hide behind central defenders like Ashley Ward used to do. If he is going through a barren spell he still has to keep showing and take a shot. If he never tries he'll never find the net. At present he is doing none of these things so has very little contribution to the team
  11. For all those saying the final ball was terrible and criticising the wide men should look at what they had to aim at. The number of times in the first half Downing got the ball and looked and saw no one to aim at was shocking. So he turned and laid the ball off to Elliott who slung the ball in regardless. SG was hiding full stop end of story. It was like Ashley Ward was here again. He never once tried to get in front of the centre half. I know I'll get criticism for this but yesterday the forward we could of done with was Nuttall. For all his faults he knew what to do in the penalty box and where the back of the net was. I noticed Chaddy was having a dig at Graham again saying he was poor but by the time he came on, Rovers approach play had become desperate and Luton had realised we had run out of ideas. There was no movement. On the left Armstrong is so frustrating the number of times he choose the wrong option was farcical. By the way, I was sat in the top tier of the Blackburn End with our scout troop rather than my usual seat in the Riverside. After ten minutes into the 2nd half the kids were bored to death. Some over troops left early they were so bored. Not saying Mowbray's tactics are juvenille but one of out cubs, aged 9, predicted his subs so no wonder the opponents can work it out. And yes Stuart the tickets were free in the Blackburn End Top Tier but after yesterday's performance I be amazed if many kids would want to return!
  12. Don't think so. As he came off bench yesterday, I suspect he is straight into first team squad.
  13. Agree. Oppositions penalty box when we are attacking would be nice occasionally. Seldom seen when playing with a false No.9
  14. Suspect that it is because the days where a big centre forward could bully his way around the penalty area means today would be called a foul he cant fight to get on the end of crosses. Defensively though two banks of four is still regularly seen
  15. to be fair Elliott Ward was the size of 11 blokes. Thats why he was so bloody slow
  16. Not just their first teams but also their junior teams. This means even if a younster gets promoted they know their role.
  17. Totally agree about Oldham game. Still cannot forgive him for that game and some of his team selections suggest that its only a matter of time before we see a repeat.
  18. The Tony Mowbray debate started originally at the start of the season were in League one when we had lost to Doncaster and Southend NOT had the start of this season. Tone has done good and bad things every season he has been here. Its a question of has he has done more good or bad that is the debate. Personally feel that on the whole the equibrilium is finely balanced and as such this season is a really key one. Previously Ive always been on the side which felt it has been more bad than good but as I said earlier this season feels different. Asking people to stop bickering in a debate topic seems strange if things don't get personal like it has in the past.
