I think Bethall, albeit only two games in, has earned the right to make the number 3 slot his own (ditto Pope at number 6). I’d also be very reluctant to move Pope back up the order. It’s a nice problem to have and it will be interesting to see how they solve it.

That’s a very good point and a lesson to not believe something just because it sounds plausible. -

I thought we’d have gone for Decheepa Debetta -
I agree, and I think he will. I’m not sure how he’ll be accommodated though.

It will be interesting as to how (and if) they get Smith back in the team.

I’ve no idea what makes people think Ratcliffe has any idea what he’s doing. Nearly every (maybe every) sports ‘venture’ he’s got involved in has led to said team/club underperforming. Hopefully this trend continues with Man U 😁😁

I don’t think David Worrell turned out to be one to watch… -
@K-Hod Regarding the new ‘player identification’ model (the use of data to create shortlists) Was any indication given as to whether the shortlisted players would then be viewed in person (ie old school scouting)? Or is JE now expected to choose from the shortlists based purely on the data put in front of him?

This allows you to filter by ‘type of goal’ https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/makhtar-gueye/alletore/spieler/606849/plus/0?saison=&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&minute=&pos=&torart=201&stand= -
The clubs entire wage bill (excluding NI etc) is around £22.5 million. This including 4 players on £15,000 a week (total £3.12 million) doesn’t feel like an unreasonable assumption to me. Whether (if true) any of them deserve such a wage is an entirely different topic!!

Shows what a horrendous run we went on as we’re ‘only’ 3 points better off this season than last (after 18 games).
