  1. Impressive signing this one For the first time in what seems like forever we are actually directly replacing good players who have left with good, poss better, players. Seems a DoF does make some difference.
  2. After seeing him now for long enough iv'e drawn the conclusion Buckley is a luxury player who sometimes fancies it but too often doesn't. Many many examples of that last season there's a touch of billy big balls about him that he has nowhere near earned. He's just another young player who is inconsistent and still developing. So he should be treat as such and dropped if he doesn't graft.
  3. Yes there are pathways and there is desperation and we have moved from the former to the latter this summer. Lets hope this isn't the new DoF policy of 'looking inside' then just pushing as many in as he can due to tight budgets.
  4. Some of them in the U23s like anyone else does then they are ready to step in when needed and they wlll be.
  5. But the experts tell us A - Clubs don't charge loan fees B- Rovers never pay loans fees
  6. That's what iv'e been saying for years it was clear in the way Mowbray operated. Promotion is just a 'oh it would be great if it happened sometime' but lets get on with the youth project instead.
  7. First half was as bad as anything seen in a long while at Ewood, second half a lot better and deserved a point. You simply can't start games like that and perform like that if you want to do anything but get dragged into relegation in this league. Some startling naivety from the head coach on display there which is worrying he needs to iron it out, i know the squad issues but still. Morton needs to play possession football but this team needs to break up play, counter and press we keep being told that but it's lacking a lot. JRC i have no words other than get him out on loan.
  8. At least 500 on top of that but still under 14k. Walk ons don't walk on every other week.
  9. Now why come out with that bollocks everyone knows it's 3 million a year at least half funded by grants.
  10. If they are about to install a new manager Waggot will be over the moon that's just doubled their following. He'll be ruining cutting the fleecing 30 quid plus tickets though.
  11. Neils done a Lambert by the looks of it.
  12. Sounds like someone has managed to create an auction for Breo. Good that it drives the price up but bad that his loss is now inevitable.
  13. Fury is absolutely full of crap and always has been and gets a free pass now because of his bipolar claims that he switches on and off to suit. Either fight or STFU and enjoy your (3rd) retirement.
  14. Although i don't think he was all that he was a work in progress and not many would have moaned had he come back. Goes down as another Rochina or Tom Lawrence type for me very frustrating but really handy to have around and brings some stardust to the squad. Two things always happen on here in these situations though when someone has left, they are either shite now or become a much missed world beater they never really were. So he's just getting the standard board treatment from both sides ☺️ Personally i think IF he gets fit and shows the workrate Markandy can fill that gap without much bother.
  15. Yep price increases are counter productive and imo the extra revenue a club like us gains from that isn't much at in terms of boosting the playing budget. 3-5k extra ST holders though can make a bigger difference for a variety of reasons.
  16. Football has never worked like that though and footballers know this it's all part and parcel of it. You aren't going to get the likes of Buckley expecting to be on what Cory Evans was on right now for example. Once they become established first team regulars though they have a right to ask for average championship wages to match. The cost gradually goes up across the board but its gone down significantly over the past 2 seasons and other higher earners will be moved on. This is why it's so important to get money in from sales but we are looking at poss 4 players who might have had a combined 30 million in value having left for nothing by summer. It's suicide to carry on like that whilst expecting to keep cutting the wage budget as well, a lge 1 budget will eventually give you league 1 football again. We need to pay and the only way to do it is more owner input and/or maximize sales i.e the Brentford model to stay in line with FFP. At the moment we do neither.
  17. Out squad is now made up of youth team graduates many of whom will be on a few grand a week. Room is created in the budget by doing this and you can't have a clutch of players on 20k pwk and the rest on 5 or less either but that;s the way it's going.
  18. I don't think anyone is suggesting everyone should have a pay rise.
  19. I'd say they are more in a position to look to kick on they've just had a water treader who lost the knack. If that's the case Mowbray would altogether be the wrong choice although obviously they could do worse.
  20. But we do sign players and often seemingly without problem so why does the switch keep getting flicked onto 'oh FFP. oh communication etc ' Why does it work fine one min then not the next ?
  21. Same team for me if possible keep giving youth a chance. Ticket prices might be interesting down there 😁
  22. Yes i think so Fury will do everything textbook AJ doesn't he'll grab, hold and lean from 1st min till last. There'll be an eye watering 4 or 5 stone weight advantage on the night plus the 6 inches height - enough to keep the chin out the way. Then the gargantuan reach Fury has an absolutely monumental set of advantages before we come to the actual boxing. As much as i'd sell my arm to see someone shut Furys mouth i can't see Usyk doing it as good as he is, it will take a boxing masterclass to do it.
  23. This is what i think they are planning should BBD leave and why they have been very cautious using Dack so far. I seem to remember Mowbray playing him there a time or two early doors.
  24. That's another seasons running costs recouped so it's good for FFP but i'd say only his wage will get re-invested on a loan. They really really need to pull a rabbit out of the hat with that one.
