  1. Best thing for Clarkson would be back to Liverpool then they can sort him out another few months elsewhere. If we fall away badly though he'll get games here when the rotating starts again.
  2. Where are the league 1 winners now ? They seemed more happy to have beaten Rovers to it than actually winning it.
  3. Can see them bringing 3k plus but i think five thousand plus might be a bit of a stretch. You never know though and it's great to see both our clubs up there scrapping for top six points. Who would have predicted that of Rovers and Huddersfield in August.
  4. Mowbray has to take his share of credit for this season and the turnaround but there's also nothing saying a new manager wouldn't have this squad in a similar position. This is a good lively hungry group of players i think they pretty much motivate themselves. Tony hasn't turned into Pep overnight but he's got things to click, hard work starts now though trying to keep up the pace and resist going back to tinkering way too much.
  5. No issue with them retaining Gally longer term the world of football is crazy especially in the Championship. One good season and some would come sniffing but it would look a damn sight better if they got one or two of the others tied down pronto as well.
  6. Gallagher might well have had something written into his contract for early renegotiation. Or maybe his advisors are just easier to deal with and more grateful this player has a contract offer on the table. As for the transfer window it would be nice if a statement was sent out that we are serious about being contenders. Not just happy to make up the numbers and exist just to produce players to sell. This is when you look for final bits of the jigsaw, although i agree with a few others that we don't want to be upsetting the balance. Its taken years to finally find one.
  7. Rothwell first on the Rovers calender followed by Nyambie for Feb. Used to be good fodder for a bit of conspiracy 🙂
  8. Yawn....yet again it needs pointing out at least 6 thousand fans bought tickets to this game. That really isn't poor, 9k v fulham is, 14k plus v barnsley isn't. Are you another who doesn't quite 'get' Rovers ?
  9. But if you keep putting them up again it can end up being counter productive. All well and good saying we are doing well so more are now coming regardless of price but it still isn't the numbers it could be. Also it wasn't the case a month or two ago and wouldn't be the case if we hit a rough patch again. That's the whole point of the pricing debate, we want regulars back not fair weather form driven we'll pay anything fans. The latter need turning into the former and 30 quid plus tickets won't do that.
  10. Wouldn't be surprised if the ticket prices had something to do with that and the live tv. It's the perils of a limited fanbase again that's the main factor imo, an element will still pick and choose.
  11. I'm sure a lot are feeling a bit like me just really can't be bothered with the cup when doing so well in the league. I was going to say i hope he turns out the kids but they are all playing anyway 🤣 Lets not forget the lockdown rumours either that won't help, i'll be going but won't be buying until just before or on the day. I reckon there'll be 2.5 thousand there at least come the day. Preston, Bolton fans etc will mock but they've flock all else to play for and if we were our usual midtable i'd expect a lot more interest in't cup.
  12. I reckon i'd keep Butterworth around for this season he's looked handy at times. Clarkson should go back i don't want to see him start being shoehorned into the side again. Not writing him off but think we could use his loan spot a bit better.
  13. Yet again gauged by the away support by men in suits, Hudds usually bring more than Barnsley so we'll stick a tenner on the price. Absolutely nuts, i'd wager a similar home turnout to last night but more away fans. Sadly that justifies it to Waggot and co, totally missing the point as usual. That could and should be a bumper gate with a little help from the price fixers.
  14. As a few have said credit needs to be given to Barnsley it's a while since we've been second to so many tackles and 2nd balls. A tough lively hardworking no frills side who offered little in attack thankfully.
  15. Diaz was operating on the left virtually all night although him and Kendra seemed to have briefly swapped.
  16. The subs worried me last night and i know i wasn't alone but to me some lads looked a bit leggy last night. So some rotating is inevitable but lets just hope we don't return to the tinkerman days.
  17. I'd prefer them to stick to the bonus route then talk a new contract in May. Otherwise the ;journey' could find itself being reset again. Keep a bit of pressure on him its doing him good never in his history here has he resisted tinkering until now.
  18. Basically what the fans have been screaming for for about 3 years. Quite why we've had to go around the houses, fields and globe to finally get here god ( or TM) only knows. Here we are though and it's great. Everything comes to he who waits i suppose.
  19. Doesn't sound much but when you consider about 6k have bought tickets it's a fair old effort. Waggot is the one who should be in the center circle applauding the fans.
  20. Tough game as expected although should have been another goal up at least before they snatched that one. Looked like it was going to be one of those nights until BBD took matters into his own hands again. Didn't see the point of bringing Gallagher on at all we needed Dolan to come on and be busy. Touch of the old TM thee 2nd half imo, no knowing what to do but just doing something for the sake of getting players on. Scored just after first sub though so all is well. There's a different feel to it all this season though, we'd easily have drawn or even lost a game like that in the past. I just wish the bloody crowd wouldn't get so nervous and quiet at times though. 3rd in the league, Christmas time, absolutely nothing to lose of get nervous about. People in the stands at the sides of the pitch get yourselves involved in the game, shout the team on for 90+5 not just after a goal !!!!!!
  21. Probably not in the past unless they'd pitch up with huge numbers. 15k ( including a healthy away support ) should be the benchmark anything less is a bit disappointing.
  22. I hope Park is being instrumental in good things but remember we were signing good loans mostly before he rocked up. So to lay all the credit at his door for this seasons might be a bit off the mark. What i'm seeing since he came is us being lined up with these Scots lads to potentially replace some of the good home grown players we haven't tied down. He's only doing his job of course and the proof is in the eating but i'm not 100% struck on this policy....yet.
  23. It's always been around in football that kind of thing to varying degrees i remember it being the case when Souness was here. Now if we consider what a mess it was here from the moment Kean and co took over it's easy to assume the problems were 5 times what they might be at the normal clubs.
  24. It should be quite simple and straightforwards, being an evening game have a cut off point of 12.30. Home team should be informed by then and if it gets pulled later they should be compensated. Hit people in the pocket and they'll pull their fingers out.
