  1. Tony had a free pass from me today but you always worry something like this is always bubbling under the surface. Today was reminiscent of many league matches and seasons in the recent past. Hopefully past lessons are learned and today has acted as a stark reminder of what not to be doing.
  2. It doesn't go unoticed that the same people often start these things.
  3. Quite poor today that but i wasn't really expecting anything else and for me Diaz and Travis would've been the first ones i rested. Wigan as per usual leaving a foot or shoulder in every challenge yet Rovers get bookings. Heavy pitch, rough house team, Wigan is a shithole who only get excited when Blackburn are in town. Not sure why a keeper needs resting especially when hes just come back but lets pray the number 1 is in for the rest of the season. Pears was everything i feared he would be before he had his good stint as stand in in the league. Just goes to show how well protected he was. He should be out on loan now lower down he needs regular games to iron out that nonsense. Overal though not bothered we've gone out i think a late losing goal is better than chugging around another 30 mins. I hope Mowbray has got some of his tinkering out his system as well. Anything other than a return to the reliable starting line up will come under heavy scrutiny. We looked knackered again today which is a worry.
  4. Incredibly replaceable ? By who ? I struggle to recall a right back coming through the ranks with as much raw ability as Ryan. Who is replacing him now who we wouldn't have to pay a fee for or would be wanting 10k pwk ? The manager has already said he thinks he'll continue to improve. Some keep citing Pickering as an example for 500k and that's fair enough until we factor in he was replacing Bell. That's like replacing a 25 watt lightbuld with a 50 watt one, you instantly see the difference. What iv'e found odd in this thread is the people who stick the boot into him so easily because he isn't a right sided Ashley Cole.
  5. There'll be 4 changes at least i'd wager. Unbelievable really not long ago it seemed like that was standard every few games !
  6. Big Sam whose team pulled in over 20k home fans every home game in the Prem 😁
  7. Didn't Waggot allegedly say one thing to one person and the complete opposite to someone else ? Just lip service at the end of the day.
  8. Don't like giving out contracts ...🤣 You've excelled yourself with this one pal, most of the 150 million they chucked through the books is hard evidence otherwise. It's paying decent transfer fees regularly they haven't been keen enough on, signing off contracts and wages has been the easy option for them. the reason we ended up in court with Berg is because Shaw altered the one Venkys had agreed to sign off, it's all out there in public. At some point you are going to have to concede this is just as much at Mowbray and Waggots door as the owners. They've been spaffing previous budgets on the Downings and Holtbys etc and going nowhere rather than tying down their own. Presumably because they didn't have enough faith in them being worth decent money eventually. Now its been left too late they are all banging on the door at once wanting double their money to stay. It's a collective fook up !
  9. Promotion is worth 150 million and the play offs are probably worth a few quid so 82 grand is peanuts and it isn't bringing in players. Rotate the team as much as possible, experiment with the system etc, all the things Mowbray normally likes to do. A chance for him to get that out of his system as well and have a good look at other players. These are the games to do these things in. if we win we win if not for once we can all shrug our shoulders and move on. If they want to look at everything as a balance sheet then look to the ultimate goal.
  10. This team is definitely punching at the moment and it's great to see. As a club though we've been under achieving for a decade.
  11. Nah he's crossed the divide now from lost kid to classy player imo He might not keep up these scorching levels of scoring but he has too much quality to slip back into just Brereton. Unless those mythical booboys chase him back there of course...
  12. They've always had some cash turnstiles at the DW for pay on the day when some seats remain available.
  13. There will no doubt be 'advisors' breathing in the owners ears suggesting half this team is ripe to sell right now. Hopefully our CEO, manager and invisible middleman are pleading otherwise.
  14. Hes been getting too much grief because hes been expected to perform like the finished article, like a Prem standard wing back grinding away in the championship. He is a decent player who has improved since he broke through but his role has changed in that time. In terms of end product he's still lacking but i'd prefer him to be a good defender over a good deliverer. Similar things about end product have been aimed at Rothwell until this season when its just clicked. King was largely pants with his end game...until he stepped up a level in a better team. People need to give over writing off Nyambe it's clear for over 18 months him and the manager don't seem keen on one another for some reason. I doubt it's personal either it's just what they expect of each other on the pitch. It looks inevitable he'll leave for whatever reason but hopefully it's in summer and we have a decent 2nd half of the season out of him. Getting a few million for him now is unlikely to make much difference to the team at the min in terms of replacement.
  15. We aren't going to get 25k are we that's in the realms of fantasy. Got to be aiming for the 15-17k home fans bracket lets be sensible, that's achievable if the form continues. Small steps to bigger long term gains.
  16. I suspect there are no real funds to play with unless some are created so TM and co fancy a few mill from Nyambe. Probably replace him with a loan or free and maybe put the rest towards an improved deal for another of our lads ? At least that might be the company line trotted out.
  17. It's a vicious circle within football sadly, you have non league players told they have to have agents if they've any chance of progressing. Then they are handing over ten percent of their 50/100 quid a week, mostly for nothing. Yet the authorities continue to allow this blood sucking.
  18. Wasserman are into literally everything so if its them then given what you say there it wouldn't be surprising if they try and broker big wages. They need something to invest after all.
  19. All agency have one thing in common, pure greed i think the players themselves don't get much say. These parasites try and control everything.
  20. Not sure but Wasserman have been buying up other agencies so i wonder if that has anything to do with it. Can't be easy dealing with a big organization that has bundles of hugely paid talent on its books.
  21. Considering Wasserman also have BBD, Dack, Johnson to name a few it's a bit worrying.
  22. It's just down to Waggot and his pre set targets for matchday income, one cheap game followed by an expensive one to balance it. Said it a dozen times before but hes got to cover his 300k his wages are likely coming from matchday and commercial income. The 150 million pot at the end of the rainbow or the extra revenue from play off fixtures seems a bit lost on these lot. If we fall away they'll be floundering around near the end of the season cutting prices and moaning they've done all they can to get over 10k home fans again. The horse will have long bolted by then. Lets hope not !
  23. Don't forget the thousands locked out ! Or is that Burnley ? I'd get the two confused except Leeds sometimes nearly back up their claims, Dingles never do.
  24. Maybe we've been paying them too much and now they are asking for more it makes it unrealistic. You just never know with Rovers and their odd wage bill. I'd say a comfortable wage for established non marquee players is probably about ten grand a week.
