  1. Because they just wanted to be seen to be doing something but were never remotely serious. Meanwhile 'but we can't compete with the likes of....'
  2. Think so, he might even have been the one shoving Speedie over.
  3. Wouldn't touch Holloway with a bargepole he's just another Coyle. Warburton would actually be a decent fit compared to a lot linked with it.
  4. He was a Sporting Director at Everton till 2018 and comes from Preston Now with the Dunc and David talk the dots join.
  5. First half of the season we played some serious high intensity stuff and left it all on the park. Yes it caught up as the season went on but the subs at times didn't help neither did the mentality. You need a bigger squad with the right kind of players to keep that up over a full season. Plus people in the dugout with the desire to do so, we had neither. For a period last season they looked the liveliest squad we've had since Hughes was here so clearly they weren't on a diet of doughnuts and days off.
  6. Steve Walsh is a name mentioned for Sporting Director. That would join a lot of dots.
  7. Fitness looked better last season than it had in a while but that could easily be attributed to a younger squad i suppose.
  8. Players on PEDS and coke we'd walk the league but the pressers would be hard work.
  9. Leading headhunting agency ? I'd love to know who that is, didn't the last one they consulted serve up Steve Waggot ? Who just happened to have worked with Mowbray and co at Coventry and be known as a specialist downgrader.
  10. Well who is it the bullhitting plonker is trying to say is DOF then ? Normally one of his farts makes it on here before anybody else knows about it.
  11. Won't bother then they'll just send head of chicken leg packing plant over here to take care of things for a few months.
  12. Not for this club it isn't the last manager brought in his own boss then promoted his assistant to some sort of DOF.
  13. Yes the Cocu link has gone worryingly quiet and i don't see him on the verge of a job anywhere.
  14. And if you won't recruit a good one and back him and you've gone down the average but once won promotion route several times. Surely logic dictates you go for an affordable one with recent good form at the level hes been at. One with ambition and drive who has potential to make use of the better facilities and quality he'll have to work with. That has to come before punting on untried coaches etc.
  15. The imbeciles down there will have collectively created a situation where they have to keep extending the deadline because they haven't appointed a manager. Or run the risk of nobody taking up many due to price rises and underwhelming appointment. Another monumental cock up is brewing but Waggot would rather have this club like Wigan than Blackburn Rovers with it's potential 14k+ crowd. Also there's the rent on the training ground to find now as well lets not forget that.
  16. If he gets us having more seasons like the last one and less like the 2 or 3 before i'd be happy enough. We desperately needed change and it hasn't cost a pay off so i can live with being a competitive upper end championship club. To answer the question then no i don't think he or anyone else will get us up without sound investment. Perennial play off contenders is the best we can hope for and i want someone to deliver that.
  17. he is a bog standard Champ defender but look how long it took us to wait for one like him. Ayala is better but about 25% as reliable as was costing double. If you want to take a bet on the last one then ok i'm in. I don't think neither will tear any trees up but i can see Lenihen in the Prem first.
  18. What does Brad know about the role and how much time would he be spending over here ? Are they just looking to stick a name over a door for the sake of it to cover for bringing in a cheap novice manager ? Really wouldn't trust much these lot do as they desperately try to plug holes of the duo that basically ran the inside of the club.
  19. That would come in handy for all the contract stuff they wouldn't need agents running it.
  20. If and it's a big if Ainsworth was appointed i think it would probably emerge he was the intended target all along. Just had to wait for obvious reasons then negotiate and maybe let him have a little break. That's how these things often go when there is a real specific target. Then it would be blatantly obvious all the Carlos, Farke stuff etc was nonsense all along and just agent tittle tattle to get names in the media. The first paragraph is probably giving far too much benefit of the doubt though.
  21. Easily ? Don't talk crap and although i'm a fan of Nyambe i'd say Lenihen is better at his job. Also take into account he's a bit of a leader on the park and probably off it. So it's another big hole to fill.
  22. Yep the dOF when he comes in won't be able to do much except be told what to do by the guy below and follow the remit from above. ( not like there'll be one ) This will be classic agent led Venkys just throw a few people together and hope for the best. We have to remember the last manager chose his own CEO and promoted his assistant to some kind of DOF. So who is picking and instructing people now ?
  23. He was but he walked into a Prem club that had won the league a few years earlier. Not really the same ball park now and a few do step into management at Championship level these days. All depends what you want as a club i suppose.
