  1. I'm thinking this might be an awkward game and i hope the Hull debacle hasn't dented the momentum. It's almost like it was done on purpose. Rovers 1 Barnsley 1
  2. Great idea if true i'm sure we've said before why don't such wealthy owners offer massive incentives to reach the promised land. Pity it's banded about though it often tends to fire up opposition as well to get stuck in.
  3. If it was a pitch inspection issue arising from doubts days before there'd be an inspection and decision before the visiting fans coaches left. At least i think that used to be the case so here with all the doubts and issues involved in Covid and the fact they'd already lost a few people, there was NO excuse to leave it late. Other than they didn't really give a toss but best thing here is when it's rearranged we rock up and hammer them.
  4. EFL - 'What's going on here then Hull ?' Hull City - We might have pushed the very boundary's to snapping point but we were following your protocol to the letter ! EFL - Aye ok, nothing to see here move along Blackburn please. Hull & EFL - 'It's all the fault of a sinister variant and the evil walking dead of the unvaxed/unboosted they are the real culprits'.
  5. Inevitable. Still at least Hull sold plenty tickets....
  6. We'd likely be playing a different way if AA was still here in order to be tailored more to his liking. Probably after loaning in another defensive mid or two. Nothing against Armstrong but on that score i'm glad hes gone.
  7. Yeah but if you're a tax dodger who went to Eaton you'd be allowed to chuck enough roll to wipe every arse on earth !
  8. He definitely lost the plot on and off the park for a couple of years. Now he's doing more logical stuff with the team his spiel makes a bit more sense again. He's always been one to waffle though but now he sounds a bit more like the TM of old, not the hybrid excuse making imposter.
  9. Come on they'd be filming, investigating and trying to lock up people chucking bog rolls and shredded newspaper these days. Maybe get away with a few nice balloons, only partially inflated of course though.
  10. I think a severe warning would suffice first time around although we don't know if they've been in bother before. Maybe a word to some of the useless stewards wouldn't go amiss either seeing as their heavy handed treatment of kids on the pitch nearly caused a riot.
  11. This is where i'm at with it as lets not forget it took that shambles at home to Fulham for him to finally wise up a bit. What he has done withe team since then is superb and the players also have to be taking the credit in equal measure.
  12. I'm delighted with the turnaround and current form but i'm wise enough to know it wasn't some grand plan. We are over achieving at the min and at some point it'll probably balance out a bit. He's probably never had a team like this though so lets see how he handles the next few months. Hes got to keep the fire under them and let them do what they do imo, top 6 finish is a real possibility. Finishing 10th/12th is more his territory so this is probably his biggest test yet at Ewood.
  13. It it does get pulled it'll probably be after ticket sales have finished tomorrow. Hull won't want to lose the tv revenue from this so next best thing is sell as many tickets as possible and give the game every chance to go ahead. Christmas day or boxing day morning would be my prediction for it to be pulled, i reckon it will be.
  14. Around the 2 thousand mark was the sensible figure mentioned early Tuesday.
  15. Let the economy run up too Christmas hols then put the brakes on in the early new year a tradition 'quiet' time for a lot of things. Take the brakes off again later and claim credit for the booming. All pre planned this and more to it than just covid.
  16. We've always said Mowbray is a guy who never seems to learn and is too stuborn with his over cooking/rotating methods. There are signs this season he finally has but those second half season stats follow him around and cannot all be coincidence or bad luck. Lets us pray he keeps fanning the flames under this team and doesn't revert to the over cautious stuff that seems more natural to him. This side will fall off its bike occasionally as other teams now get prepared for us but hes got to let it regroup and get back on it when it does. So do the fans.
  17. The biggest call Mowbray has to make so far this season is being bold enough to stick with this team and not looking to chuck Gallagher back in the starting line up. I'm not a hater of his but the side for the first time has real balance to it that it doesn't when he plays from the off. Even when he's playing well but to me the way he's best used now is a late sub.
  18. A couple of big signing on fees allegedly kept the weekly wages more in line.
  19. A lot on here would've snatched their hands off at 3 million never mind 5. Just goes to show what has been said all along, get a system to suit what you have instead of trying to make them do something that they struggle with.
  20. Yes i think you can i had a couple of mooches around in summer to see what they were doing with the pitch.
  21. The revamped midfield helps this imo as instead of having one or even to defensive mids sitting back or the likes of Holtby not getting stuck in. These lot have legs they harrie and close down all the time and get stuck in, bits of shithousery as well, this stuff hasn't been seen since Savage was here. It ups the tempo of the whole team and encourages the forwards to close down as well, Fulham did it to us. To be a good team in this division it's what you have to do, every game not one in 5. Thankfully it seems to be core to our style now and we actually have a style. Long may it continue, if it changes he's got a screw loose because it suits this squad.
  22. Not sure that is strictly true as if i remember right although we'd been relegated he got a good starting point to go again. There was the audits, some debt written off, more share issues, pay decreases already written into some contracts kicking in. the granting of an almost championship level budget again AND a couple of million to spend. Not exactly a clusterfuck probably actually a good time to take the reigns and he and Mowbray did well initially. Then after promotion they/he doffed out all the contract extensions that meant we were bound to keep a lot of players and their now championship wages until they themselves decided to move on. Off the park since then there's been no real obvious signs of progress and you could say a bit of a clusterfuck with the contracts which lies at his door. Covid not withstanding but every club has had to deal with that and not everyone has owners with pockets like ours. C minus is as good as it gets for Steve i'm afraid.
  23. It's an odd structure when a player comes in for big money and big (for us) wages yet is more of a squad man but gets his contract and wages extended. Then others whose wage starting point is far lower but who have made more contribution and whose value will double - even if it's not ten million- get low balled with no chance of matching someone just because they didn't cost 5 million quid. We'll end up with a production line where everyone looks to graduate through the academy, then bail to other clubs for a signing on fee and a few more grand when their contracts end. Maybe that's the low wage recoup a few quid in compen model low grade Waggot is looking for. I also notice the buck is being passed to the owners on this. The owners who plough in 20 million every season and we are told never refuse a cheque. Are we really now to believe they wouldn't sanction another couple of million to tie assets up if asked ?
  24. Branthwaite just didn't fit our dreadful possession based style of play i think it was as simple as that. THB was better on the ball and more comfortable. Put Branthwaite in now he'd probably have looked ok.
  25. Why expect Butterworth to walk into the team looking like the finished article though ? It's taken Rothwell a long time to become what he is at the min so a young lad will need time.....and minutes
