  1. A good point and an interesting debate can be had here. Ferguson has been working with Prem players in a Prem set up so you'd expect him to improve this side of things. Often feel we are very much the bog standard Championship set up and follow the bog standard coaching systems for our level. I think they worked hard under Mowbray and it looked professional enough from the outside. However we often moaned we needed new ideas and drive and less friendly uncle. I don't think Ferguson would be lacking in this dept but he'd need to put together his own backroom so that they are singing from same hymn sheet. Anything or than allowing a new guy to do this they might as well just promote from within or give Mowbray a ring. No point changing unless you actually change, new broom etc.
  2. They saw all that briefly after League 1 promotion, they saw for the first time what this club/town is all about. What did they do, collectively, settle in for a midtable championship slog to keep everybody in wages. Whacked up prices ensuring crowds didn't grow on the back of promotion. Total failure to capitalize and move forwards and history is just repeating itself.
  3. Bit over the top with your first points but agree on the last one it's something i had thought might be a possible scenario. Then comes the common sense thinking, no managerial experience other than standing in for a few games. Sparky had managed at International level a while. Doesn't know the championship nor the inside of this club, Sparky knew both although he took over in the Prem obviously. Therefore it's just wishful thinking although in his favour he knows young players and he wouldn't take any nonsense. Plus he has profile we'd be re-branded Duncan Fergusons Blackburn Rovers surely. There might be worse gambles out there to take.
  4. It would almost come as a relief by now if they named him at least things could get moving forwards.
  5. They just move money through the pipes and are happy to have Rovers as some kind of loss leader on the books. It's ragingly obvious and many own football clubs for the same reason. More money than sense and comes in handy on the books, meanwhile some of them get to play around with it occasionally. We are trapped in an eternal loop it's like something off Doctor Who. They've made us almost totally dependent on their money and that allows them to do as they please when they can be arsed.
  6. Well no not really the odd update from the supposed CEO is the least we should expect. They can't name names but they could rule a few out and give an idea if they have a target in mind. And how that's going in terms of progress but like i said they revel in the circus of it because daft unatainable names get linked by people who haven't a clue. Good PR for the club to be linked but only builds anger and disappointment among the fanbase as these names drop off radar one by one.
  7. Other than saying about the number of applicants - as they always do - has the club made any genuine comment on it all ?
  8. Squeeze what you have then cut costs in line, don't speculate to accumulate because you have to do work and spend money. If some of those at Rovers took over Asda after a few years it would be selling its superstores and moving into franchises garage forecourts. Then charge Selfridges prices and try and kid everyone it's a premium brand to cover over the lack of sales. That's the kind of thinking applied at Blackburn Rovers.
  9. It wouldn't be them doing the window dressing though it's just agents, press, representatives of both club and managers chucking each others names around. Likes of Nixon and others then throw these names around but offer nothing at all to back it up. If you question them they revert to 'can't betray my sauces' but that's nonsense because you've already made it public anyway. There's nothing secret about it when the names have been banded around for weeks/months. All it needs is 'talks took place over the weekend between x and y at a hotel in w' type thing. No though they can't even offer that because 90% of the time it probably didn't happen and was never going to. Just and agent contacting another agent and it gets passed to the press, betting markets go crazy, bookies make money, papers get sold, online gets clicks. Meanwhile the ONLY people who really know say nothing because there's nothing to say.
  10. I don't believe for one second we've actively pursued the likes of Farke or Carlos. Used their names, yes, reps speaking to reps and leaking it on purpose, yes. Seriously pursuing or they seriously wanting to come here without cast iron guarantees, no chance. Just window dressing i think if they actually sounding out anyone it might just be Ainsworth and that could explain the delay. His season not long ended so he'll want a break. Meanwhile clubs have to sort out modest compo, his demands shouldn't be off our scale. Also he'll probably work with what is here aside from maybe his own number 2, QPR gig has gone as well. I think this is as goof as we should hope for beyond an Adkins or Woodgate.
  11. I don't think Pardew fits well with Northern clubs so i doubt he'd pitch himself for it.
  12. Lowe might provide an eyes and ears link from inside the dressing room to further up the food chain.
  13. Not according to the latest Rovers oracle it's not or aren't you aware he knows everything ? Won't tell on here though because everyone isn't as clever as him. We all have to make appointments to hear the lip service ourselves.
  14. How do they expect to change things and freshen things up keeping on all the same backroom staff. Why bother changing if they don't really want to change. Any good manager will want to build up his own coaching set up it goes with the turf and it's not as if they had to pay the last one off.
  15. Absolute classic window dressing by Swaggot if that's the case.
  16. I don't see why they should be either. I want to see bums on seats as much as anybody but sticking them in or near the premium seats where people are paying top dollar. Either by ST or match by match is taking the piss the whole last day of the season was a bit of a farce in there to be honest. But it was a tenner a ticket so you don't mind be surrounded largely by people who don't give a toss once in a while. On a regular basis it's a big no no.
  17. Nobody because we all knew you should be the stand out candidate.
  18. Carvalhal was never coming for a second it was all just another smoke and mirrors job there was nothing of substance to back it up whatsoever. If anyone seriously thinks we are shopping in anything other than the next Mowbray type or untried cheap coach then i think they need a lie down. Some at this club have zero ambition, NON they just want it water treading and churning out young players to preserve their easy street lifestyle.
  19. Sadly they'd probably go straight onto the top of the experienced, affordable and doable pile.
  20. Is it actual chaos or just a far too lethargic laid back approach ? I'd wager it's that rather than outright madness of the past although iv'e no doubt a few there still haven't the first clue in which direction to go. So they speak to a few agents, draw up a few lists, maybe even interview someone. Then just sit and wait to be told what to do, meanwhile some minion is hanging around somewhere just waiting to pluck up courage to speak to the main person for a decision.
  21. If they can't add substance too it there isn't much point in them writing it. Sooner people realize it's just column inches the less disappointment there'd be.
  22. Er, how about talks were held at 'insert place' between 'insert Rovers official' and 'insert said manager'... Might add a bit of weight to it but what are they actually going off ? Iv'e not even seen the legendary football term 'a club spokesman said' But yeah lets ask for CCTV evidence.
