  1. I'm worried if he's up to the job seeing as he'll be forming a new partnership.
  2. I know he was a bit rash at times and his form also faltered near the end of the season but Van Hecke will be a big miss in terms of playing how we did. The number of last ditch interceptions, tackles and blocks he made last season pulling others and himself out the mire was quite regular.
  3. It's terrifying to think the price they paid for the club before the extra bit of debt is now the ANNUAL loss they have run up. If these lot were normal people who'd won 200 million the lot would be gone now and they'd have nothing but debt to show for it. Whoever built that cash pile of 500 mill and a business that turns over hundreds of millions per year should be the one(s) they pray to every day.
  4. Anybody slightly worried that the new manager criteria has shifted since last time from cheap experienced head with a promotion to Prem. To cheaper, less experienced but with promotion from league 1 on the cv ? This stinks of another downgrade and preparing for the inevitable once players sales and the rest have kicked in.
  5. They won't though that's the problem they seem happy to lose 10/20 million per season off their books. Trouble is theirs only a million or two out of that which is actually available to try and improve the team. Doesn't bother them it looks like it serves a purpose but the club itself is stuck in an eternal loop.
  6. Assumed all along that the next manager would have to be cheaper than Mowbray and Venus. And will have to work with less than they did this last 18 months it's just another step on the downgrade ladder.
  7. Anyone be kind enough to do a brief breakdown of the juicy bits for those of us who simply cannot listen to this cretin ?
  8. We can't keep trying to give the likes of him, Mowbray and whoever else a free pass just because they work for Venkys. It's the kind of divide and conquer these gravy train riders thrive in when they have something to hide behind. Each one of them are actually paid to do jobs not just turn up because there are boxes to tick. It's a collective obviously and it starts from the top but they aren't going to get sacked for showing a bit of gumption or pro activity.
  9. The way Wharton went off the boil near the end of last season was a worry he seemed to lose his head. He'll be another season wiser after summer of course but not sure he's captain material. If someone comes in they'll probably go with senior experience so that'll be Ayala. Might even encourage him not to cry off as often.
  10. Nope. i even asked the LT guy and he didn't take kindly to it. just names tossed about, nothing more or less imo and nobody has offered anything to say otherwise.
  11. It's clear the way they do things promotion has never been the priority or even on the agenda. Mowbray knew that that's why he kept waffling about journeys and changing his narrative when he felt like it. The lack of backing, the lack of going for it on the pitch or recruiting a striker, the lane efforts with season tickets. Nobody down there on the non playing staff is really bothered. Just play around with it and lose money in the books.
  12. Wouldn't mind Robins but not sure i'd be paying big compen for him. Also it's nailed on the usual influencers remain if we went down that route.
  13. The odd update or the wheels are moving speak wouldn't do any harm. Ok it wouldn't reveal much but this is a professional football club with wide public interest. And it's trying to sell season tickets, changing manager is quite a big deal and the club has bad rep for poor communication. In recent past we haven't even had a CEO to look to but now we have he's completely gone to ground, again. There are times the club etc gets beaten by sticks that you can argue is just for the sake of it. This isn't one of those, it's poor at best and to be honest ignorant at worst just showing again it isn't about the fans. It's all about those who fund and play with it just doing what they always do.
  14. The DOF and head coach need to be singing from the same hymn sheet because one will be pushing players onto the other. He'll have to use them whether he likes it or not although at this club i wouldn't be too sure. Nor would i about who would be pushing the DOFs buttons.
  15. Worrying thing his mate Myers said about he'd need to bring a tactical coach in with him, So basically he knows fook all about championship football and neither does Unsworth. Yes they both know about young higher level players but you need more than that. Working with our bibs and cones boys won't be the answer so what is, pure hope ?
  16. I was more thinking the 2 vikings RD & MGP but yeah interesting to say the least.
  17. Wonder if Morten Gamst is the ex player being lined up to come back as a coach is the one some have alluded to.
  18. Whoever gets mentioned on here the odds almost instantly drop. Quite liking the idea of him though, no ego's involved.
  19. Mowbray saw the writing on the wall months ago when they weren't begging him to sign an extension. His ego wasn't pricked it literally exploded and whilst as usual the club/owners don't come out of it well neither does he. He just about stage managed his own exit making his own position and any potential late new offer untenable. Whatever their clusterfuck role in it 'they' didn't create some of the cock ups on the pitch he did in the last few months.
  20. Interviewed but wouldn't work with existing staff and Rovers baulked at him bringing his own backrooom staff even though he guaranteed resurrection.
  21. If it turns out to be Ferguson, Unsworth and that former Everton SD it's going to be another agent driven cosy little scenario. Someone has got in the ear of the owners and sold them another cheap option probably on the promise of wheeling and dealing. Taking their cut and running the club so they can ignore it again, wonder were the invisible man is in all this, probably right in the middle of it.
  22. But it was the best half season in over a decade and the fall away wasn't attributed to that.
  23. Not having a dig at you but i don't see why people get so precious about stuff like this. It was a long time ago he's no record i know of now for smacking people and he wouldn't have lasted so long in the position he has if he was a thug. He's not in the cold calculated league of Roy Keane who should have been banned from football for life after his premeditated assault on Haaland. Nor is he serial scumbag Joey Barton hell the guy has leathered 2 burglars in his home on seperate occasions. He should get a bloody knighthood. The snowflakery goes too far on here at times. Having said that purely on a football level he wouldn't be my choice given the nature of what we've seen here before. However if he comes in i'd be 100% behind him.
  24. One of two things i reckon Easy option pushed by some agents close to the club, 3 guys at once, modest wages, jobs sorted in one go or It's absolutely bog all to do with him and scenario 1 is given to him from above.
