January Transfer window 2022

He also said he wants to sign players with flexibility and adaptability. In Mowbray speak that is square pegs for round holes i'm afraid. -

Agreed But when they ask for loyalty and support from fans sometimes they might have to suck it up when it doesn't come for free.... -

Basically when they express a strong desire to talk to other clubs they are requesting a transfer in my opinion. Therefore you want to move to somewhere that is quadrupling your wages etc so waver the money owed. Ask the buying club to cover it with a signing on fee and fook off you money grabbing shitehawk !!! -

It's a damned if you do/don't scenario for all involved in this one so yes it is a mess. A mess that would have been easier dealt with if this lad was tied to a better deal way before it came to this. As for the owners it just still shows how detached from understanding they are as basically now they have to sell him to stop the rot spreading. -

Another well earned hard won point and clean sheet but a bad day again for the knocks and niggles. Good job they were toothless up front and our commitment and workrate matched theirs although we were even less than toothless attack wise. Fair play on Ayala having a go up top it's a pity nothing dropped for him or found his nut, going to have to do something about continually being so disjointed though. Inviting pressure all the time and as good as we've been defensively we'll end up with a hiding before long. -

He's a goner guaranteed and they aren't playing him to keep him out of danger. Seen and heard this scenario sooo many times over the years. Next statement is 'we couldn't keep an unhappy player' so off he goes for an undisclosed fee, in comes Hedges for 200k and probably a bigger wage than Rothwell is on now. Meanwhile we desperately need a proper striker in this squad. -

Bung Joe a suitcase full of cash delivered by a clothes shop owner or taxi driver. Then give him his contract within the pay scale. The old ways are the best ! -

I think TM might be doing a bit of the old Big Sam routine here trying to look after his key men with a bit of mid season time off here and there. -

Barclays were demanding their 10 million pr the wages weren't being paid, Vs allegedly couldn't get it sent across in time due to new Indian laws about movement of money. Big Chris was being offered 100k pwk by the mad Ruski, a [erfect storm really but it did save Rovers a monumental amount of aggro. -

That means what exactly considering Bennett was preferred there at times as well and TM by his own admission rotated positions according to opposition. The old version Mowbray that is not the new T2 version. Facts are my friend we are second in the league and Nyambe has been an integral part of that not JRC. End of debate, i'm sure it'll be back next season when JRC and A N Other are vying the spot. -

A good wing back has to be able to defend and attack probably in equal measure and iv'e prattled on constantly Nyambe isn't good at both. His workrate, speed and strength enable him to keep doing an ok job there though whilst JRC has non of those attributes. He's a better baller - allegedly- but as far as right wing back or right back go it's a no contest, he should be nowhere near it now we have 2 who can do it. I think some are assuming any right sided attacking mid can convert to wing back just because they have a fancy name ! -
Rolling contract is best for everyone, except his pension advisors obviously. The cut backs meaning a lot of old favs HAD to go and a little bit of pressure from fans this season and probably inside the club has seen him get his act together in fine style. No need to change that but a new 3 yr contract and losing some good players would be back to tea and biscuits shoulder shrugging as if this season never happened.

The way iv'e read it is they get good bonuses that can net them 20/25k pwk. Appearances, goals, wins etc. Not a bad way to do things although you can see why he's always in a rush to get the likes of Gally and Ayala on as soon a he can. Keep the boys happy. -

So is going nowhere in midtable every season with a manager and squad without a care in the world. I'd rather have a stab at the play offs and whatever heart ache it might produce than what we'd been accustomed to. People will just have to man up and take it on the chin. -

Mowbrays possession football was probably mainly driven by an attempt to shore things up by keeping the ball and protecting the fragile defense. Didn't really work and certainly didn't suit a lot of the players particularly the young ones hence the loaning of of more experienced heads across the middle, which didn't really work either. Identifying and signing good full time bread and butter defenders has been his achilles heel for years. How times change though when now the best most cultured center half hes had can't get in the team. It's really unbelievable how the 3 big lads have just gelled together, god bless the youth ! -

Well we were told not long ago that we had to be like Swansea if we wanted to prosper in this league 🤨

Sandbanks, The english riviera, closer to London, probably a hefty pay rise and signing on fee. Plenty to tempt a young footballer and wife. Rothers should have been have been tied up a while ago but it looked like nobody down there rated him enough. Another angle is he and his reps have had a sniff of this all along and have always fancied it on the quiet. -

Massive result that and great to see the refusing to lose mentality coming back. Gallagher well that was the type of performance we need from him he isn't the best but he can cause problems and make a big contribution. Having Travis back was key he pulls the whole thing together, Edun though is a disaster waiting to happen at left back. There's only so long we'll get away with that before finding ourselves 2 nil down so i hope Mowbray wakes up to it. Another good night though.
