  1. With the amount of pubs and clubs closing, the price of things, the pressures of everyday living. Mental health crisis and the lack of general happiness around society and being told what to do left right and center then football becomes the outlet again. All this has happened before it's called social unrest and it all starts at the top with dictatorship Govts and unrealistic policies putting the squeeze on everyone.
  2. The use of subs gets to me with him i'd wager that if it was 1 nil. 2-1 or 1-1 he'd have done the same thing at the same time with the first two. Then of course he just looks to throw on his latest signing anywhere he can later. Classic Mowbray stuff that tactically with those type of things he is very predictable and as a result so is the team. The upside of it is we usually finish seasons strongly under him so if we can hang in there a corner should turn again. However that's usually when we've fallen away and have nothing to play for and the beach comes in sight for a lot of opposition. I think this season will be a completely different animal we are a marked target now.
  3. A sensible keeper, one not looking to make it all about himself would have picked it up reported it to the ref then just got on with the game. We've seen that before up and down the country.
  4. Trav's hardman act is based on shithousing not putting it about he's very much the Championship era Robbie Savage. Nothing wrong with that but he's a good player and needs to get back to leading by example. All the rest of it is fine when you are hanging onto a lead or draw and closing games out but when you are chasing them it doesn't really contribute.
  5. It's all just being done with another ST price rise in summer in mind i'd wager. They'll be very reluctant to do any seriously discounted games so come up with these token gestures. Yes on the face of it it's a good deal of course it is but with the form we have been in over the past month how many are really going to stump it up ? Rovers match buying and part time support is notorious for its one game at a time approach that's why bundles don't work around here. People know the value of their spare money and keep it in the pocket unless they feel it's really worth spending. That's the harsh reality of life in East Lancs.
  6. I had a birds eye view of all this and as usual it isn't as simple as just condemning a whole group for mindless actions. The odd idiot aside something usually has to trigger these things and last night the Forest keeper seemed intent on stoking it up as much as he could. Yes some pillock threw a plastic bottle in the direction of the ref - who really deserved it ramming up his backside instead. Then their keeper went off on one to the ref, understandably. Then he starts having a go at the crowd. not wise and in fact a bit stupid. So then he becomes the object of frustrations and the back and forth goes the rest of the game. No objects should ever be thrown and it's beyond me how these idiots don't grasp their actions have serious consequences if, as they likely will be, they get caught by the ready eye. However the players themselves and in particular that keeper, who threw and kicked bottles back towards the crowd and began stoking an already angry situation need to accept their part in it.
  7. I think this game might suit us a bit better if he sticks to his guns and doesn't change too much. People asking for changes need to step back a realize the team and what it's doing has been gradually changing over the past few weeks. And it is that that isn't working we are also returning to subs for subs sake not to change anything. Dangerous territory with Mowbray this is we don't want to end up with possession football again because you won't see a win for a month. He is totally right about everyone sticking together and keeping their heads including us fans, heads were going on and of the pitch last night. Just get back to the solid unspectacular basics and set out to be tight and stodgy and bity again mainly looking to counter. Get square pegs back in square holes and unpopular opinion but get the new signings on the bench. Lets see what we can grind out.
  8. He won't do that though he'll just move Zeefuik to a round hole somewhere else in the team if he brings Ryan back. We are at that point again with TM it was always going to happen it's just taken getting fresh blood in to give him the excuse this season.
  9. It'll be hundreds rather than thousands they still don't quite get what they are dealing with at Rovers.
  10. It just cannot all be coincidence at all i think the constant failure to address the real weaknesses in Jan windows is a big issue with this manager. Yes we don't have a lot of money but we do usually have backing to do something but it's that something that isn't usually the right thing. We are over achieving but that doesn't create a god given free pass to blow it we got there on merit in the first place. Failure to kick on having been able to bring in 4 and not lose any is just failure and the end of the day.
  11. Yes the manager needs to reel them in a bit from all that stuff it's getting out of hand. We can be competitive without being so blatantly pushing the rules all the time. On the other side of the coin refs need to also accept the youth of this side and expect them to be a bit raw so a few early tellings off might help. Instead they are running around with whistle permanently in lips looking to blow against us.
  12. No ifs but or maybes dropping Nyambe for a lesser player (again) has cost us that first goal tonight, Not only that it just wasn't working down that right hand side from the off. ZF was lost out there tonight, a pointless change and it' at the managers door no one else's. Secondly and even more infuriating the officials !!! Absolutely dire how many times does this have to happen ? Sadly i think we have a bit of a reputation now for being fiesty and shithousery. They are all too quick to blow the whistle against Rovers every time there is a coming together on the pitch. We don't help this though as we do give away far far too many needless niggles being competitive is one thing but stupid is another. First half rubbish although Forest i didn't think were anything much better just another average team with their tales up. Their manager had his tactics spot on though as expected. Second half we definitely deserved something although it was inevitable they'd kill it off the longer we didn't score. Gallagher was tremendous but again hooking Khadra was wrong imo. He always seems to get pulled just when he's getting into it, i like Dolan but i didn't think he'd make much difference and he didn't. Buckley - Good player, has come on leaps and bounds but he's been a weak link recently i think it's time for a rest. Back to the Nyambe thing it makes me so angry when for so long we've strived for balance and a decent back line. Then when we get one the manager seems intent on bolloxing it up over the usual stubborn nonsense. Thought the crowd was good tonight particularly the BBE not seen it that animated for a long time, shame tensions nearly boiled over. The officials can take the lions share of that though along with the angst and what we now know is the predicted familiar death spiral. Not good either to see their keeper trying to play the victim and make it all about himself. Tonight was a bad night.
  13. Exactly Get back to doing what we've been doing and blend the newbies in as we go along. Substance over style has got us this far and Saturday for me resembled last season a bit too much. Don't want to be losing 1 nil but getting patted on the back for this mythical attacking football that creates illusions more than chances.
  14. Didn't we win the Sheff U, PNE and Boro games ? Not sure it's the team that needs the sports psychologist the only arses that twitch with this team seem to be on the sidelines.
  15. A few enforced changes opens the door to the unforced ones, that's how it rolls.
  16. Midweek games come along on the tv and in Blackburn where most people are permanently skint they tend to keep their powder dry for another day. Just the way it is and always has been so even 20 quid tickets don't have the desired effect, adding in quid a kid or something might help. Or some kind of voucher towards a more expensive ticket later in the season, or is that thinking too far out the box for our men in suits ? What doesn't help in the ground is the amount of ST holders who swerve these as well leaving gaps in the usually more populated areas. Still it doesn't really matter as long as whoever is in there gets behind the lads from the off. The busier the JW has got this season the more like a library it has become it's genuinely bizarre. Half the people don't even clap the team on, wtf is in the beer in that stand ? Or do people just not drink enough of it ?
  17. Yes he's played really well in his new role that's why clubs were after him but in response to Exiled Rovers point, about him not getting enough goals, well it's unlikely he will from that position. Apart from Saturday when i think he should've been moved forwards there can't be any complaints about his position this season. I'd suggest thought that if he was in a more forward central role he'd bag a few more but that wouldn't fit this seasons system. There isn't a lot to compare him to previously because he's been in and out i different positions. Nice to see a player make a role their own finally.
  18. In response to the point about scoring goals he hasn't been productive in the team sense even if personally hes contributed more. As for Buckley 'if ever' taking set pieces i'm confident that's bollocks.
  19. Bucko is a bit too greedy but he should create or score a few more although he is still raw yet. Rothwell is played too deep and only has the odd foray forwards rarely getting near the box. Saturday was the perfect chance to move him forwards but no he got moved even further back. Naive stuff. Travis well he does his job well further back every game so it's not really his job but maybe he should be taking the set pieces instead of young Mr It's all about me Buckley !
  20. Hearing Mowbray talk about the team having to adapt to new signings has me slightly worried now.
  21. They won't rush Dack this time TM isn't worried about his job and to be honest there is no need to. We have more than enough options now to get some wins if they are used correctly. The thing that might cost us is the 'wide strikers' policy when there is no one in the box to put things away. The winger is dead and it seems the center forward is as well now.
  22. It's no wonder young footballers fail to make the grade or struggle to cope and it's agents and Nixons who contribute to that. All this noise about a 16 year old because some arseholes who've never kicked a football are looking to make money. Disgraceful, best of luck to the lad - Now leave him alone.
  23. Most on here had his number years ago the bloke is nothing but an agents stooge and all he's doing is trying to drum up interest probably. In return for more of his useless fabrications that rarely come true.
