  1. Yep look at the positivety around the Lambert appointment and the fuss they made recruiting backroom staff. Then it emerged they weren't backing him with anything other than stretching the wage budget a bit. Then Rhodes is sold and it's clear to him that there will be no future significant backing despite him allegedly having some decent players primed. So off he goes along with the new backroom staff. Substitute Brereton for Rhodes and we could well enter similar territory here again over the next 12 months.
  2. New pitch ? Aren't they just doing what they do this time every year.
  3. So the club still comes way down the priority list even when one who might actually be interested appears on the horizon. We are nothing more than a toy to them and an accounting tool for their finance people.
  4. Well the lad might as well have a go it was always intended to be his toy anyway i presume. At least we'll know real life football manager is being played instead of just suspecting it. Now lets look again at this Sporting Director, coach model we are allegedly in for, i mean what purpose could that set up really be for when there's a new kid in town !
  5. Don't think there's much harm in keeping Butterworth around it's up to the lad himself now. Needs to apply himself 110% every chance he gets there's been flashes in there but he needs to earn his money.
  6. The longer it goes the more you fear something stupid.....or desperate.
  7. It's such a cushy number once feet are under the table at Ewood with the great buffer zone between Blackburn and India. Those who occupy that are having a great ride on the gravy train as well whilst hiding in the shadows. As has been said nobody in key positions in upper office really cares beyond trying to tick their boxes. Because they all get well paid regardless and don't have owners standing over them. Waggot has never even hit his own targets in season tickets but he has overseen year on year price hikes. Taking Rovers from being amongst the top 5 cheapest to joining the top 8? dearest. If his pay depended on it he'd be hand delivering leaflets for discounted tickets all across Lancashire. Fact is he doesn't need to his wages plus expenses and benefits will be paid out of the 7k we sell. They need to get this next managerial appointment bang on because this fella can't grow a wart never mind a football club.
  8. I doubt they'll be competing with us unless HSH are getting a foot in their door. Skint or not it's odds on their next appointment will be more ambitious than ours.
  9. It'll be a 33-1 curve ball appointment of a younger coach who'll work with staff already here, under a DOF and be given who he's given. The DOF will probably be bringing in players via a few favoured agents again seeing as we won't have a head of recruitment any more. You can see it now it'll be what certain people are pushing for, promotion is just an afterthought down there.
  10. You could smell the bull from a thousand Pace's when he first turned up on a tv screen. They thought it was a handy little investment to play around with and stroke a few egos and i wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't heavy agent/fixer involvement. Low cost club in the Prem with a solid manager and habit of surviving never spending much, brilliant. We'll buy it by borrowing against itself then cream off the profits. Set it up so the first sign of trouble and we can escape relatively unscathed, if it works for years great, if it doesn't no big deal. Like a lot of 'fit and proper' takeovers they've been screwed over so it suits others not the football club or town. Somebody will probably jump in and buy it and solve a few problems but there is a heavy whiff of the next Bolton about it. All it needs is a while in limbo with no money and things will go backwards rapid like it did to them. Fixed assets sales coming soon ?
  11. He's been retiring for about 2 years now just like TM was leaving last summer or being sacked the one before.
  12. There is still organised stuff going on which is crazy given hat the OB and courts chuck at kids daft enough to get caught doing it. There was one between Rovers and Preston not long ago that resulted in a load in court.
  13. Waggot is a cost cutter and a down grader that's why he is here and he has publically stated in business interviews he isn't a speculate to accumulate guy. He's more of a squeeze what you have guy. Look at his previous clubs and why he was there at those times i don't think he has the first clue or ambition to grow a club. Everything he has done here is designed to just tread water and keep himself in wages. I doubt for 1 min if it was up to him there'd have been any 7 or 5 million quid transfers. There'd have been more Raya type sales though and just look how he's allowed the contracts of some of our good players to end up. Look what he wanted to do with the STC and academy also, i think he needs to stay away from advising on the new manager. He's bound to be pushing the cheapest new set up possible.
  14. How many layers of finance people are there at Ewood ? Just who exactly doesn't or does refuse cheques, pitches, strikers etc ? Waggot - Supposed to be CEO and in charge of budgets and stuff. Suhail - Has to sanction anything about 5k apparently. Badu - Allegedly VH finance man Cheston - Just there to do the payslips ? Barry - Venkys chief Rovers cheerleader Barry jnr - Hidden on the board now with some sort of say ? No wonder things don't get done if that lot has to be navigated through. Mr & Mrs D - The ultimate big financial cheeses Anyone else ? Who, why, where is allowing or blocking the pennies ?
  15. So i'm sat round at a pals this afternoon in the heart of Chorley near the railway station. Having a coffee and an argument about football (yet another plastic Liverpool fan) and what drops through the door but a glossy 2 sided leaflet advertising North Ends discounted season tickets. I was in Blackburn the other day and noticed on the back of a bus Rovers season ticket prices......from 2019. Kind of says it all.
  16. Iv'e never seen anything as daft as that first half false 9 attempt v Derby at home, ever. Nor the stuff in the dug out second half but another kick in the nuts was leaving the guys who turned it around on the bench at the start of the following game. Stupidity born out of churlishness and stubborness on both counts.
  17. Waggot will have wood at the thought of this one. Live tv money, 35 quid cheapest seats and a 12 o'clock Sunday kick off all on the agenda for summer meetings.
  18. Correct, he had permission to bring in loans and he didn't loan in a striker that bit is undeniably on his head.
  19. If only it was the bank holiday weekend, i'd be off down Blackburn for a knees up.
  20. Mowbray cared about his players feelings more than points at times there is enough evidence down the years. Both from what we've seen and what we've heard from the man himself but of course it'll have fallen on deaf ears of those who like to believe their own narratives. Therefore entirely believable he'd side step a potential striker or two so he could keep berths available for Gallagher etc. Plus he was well into experiment mode again first chance he had once BBD was injured and then he had Giles to play with. A new manager will hopefully be a breath of fresh air compared to Mr know it all then feck it all up.
  21. He was offered a small rise, wanted a bit more, stalemate for a while then in popped a silly offer as i said. Rovers could have tied him up way before that somewhere in the middle, that's how it rolls. He wasn't worth 8k a week to us but maybe a bit more than 1.5.....
  22. He was another on small wages who they low balled when offering him a fresh contract then with all the stalling in stepped someone with a silly offer. That's how it seems to roll here with some of them.
  23. We needed funds but even more than that we needed a manager who really wanted it.
